Deletion discussion about Ephraim Williams Sr.
[edit]Hello, Conathan, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Shushugah, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Ephraim Williams Sr., should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ephraim Williams Sr..
You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Shushugah}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~

- @Shushugah:. Hello, could you please help me understand why this page is nominated for deletion? Also why someone redirected it to another page? We created a page for Ephraim Williams Sr., who is distinct from Ephraim Williams Jr. I have found that journalists and scholars frequently conflate the two individuals since one has a Wikipedia page and the other did not. This was the motivation to create the page. I originally created a stub and a student assistant filled in the content a few days later. I am not a frequent user of Wikipedia so would appreciate tips for making compliant pages, thanks! Conathan (talk)
- @Conathan: In short, Williams Sr. needs to be shown to be a notable Wikipedia topic, and it cannot be solely on the basis that they are related to Williams Jr. per WP:NOTINHERITED. Shushugah (talk) 18:51, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Shushugah:. Thanks, it seems like additional references to external sources would help to establish notability. Can you provide some guidance on how to do that, considering the page keeps getting shut down? Thanks! Conathan (talk) 20:29, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
