Your submission at Articles for creation: Motion Impossible (December 21)

[edit]
Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by S0091 was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: This didn't need more sources; it needed better quality sources that provide independent in-depth coverage. Given those likely do not exist, it cannot meet the notability guidelines.

Motion Impossible moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Motion Impossible. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because you may have a possible Conflict of Interest and this should get reviewed first. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit for review" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. UtherSRG (talk) 23:31, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

How do we resolve the potential conflict of interest? Isn’t the draft article written in a neutral style with no opinion? 79.77.18.181 (talk) 00:03, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
WP:COI is about the person writing the article, not how the article is written. - UtherSRG (talk) 00:11, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, this is what I thought, but I also read that if there is a conflict of interest there are exceptions if the writting style is neutral and not tring to sell or promote. I am the CTO at Motion Impossible just for your reference. I fully understand the COI policy, but what is the recommended way to get around this when I writing the content? If I approach a 3rd party, I will be providing them with the same content to some degree. Fundametally, the company has been in business for 10 years and works with many industry leaders and there is a justification in having more information about the company and products. We have partnerships with ARRI and other industry leading companies. Also, the technolgy is an evolution of the camera dolly platform which already has a page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camera_dolly. Which by the way is missing some key information about industry standard dolly systems. The page I edited is based from the ARRI page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arri Dairb (talk) 11:51, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
See 331dot's information below. - UtherSRG (talk) 12:55, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You approaching a third party would only transfer the conflict of interest to them. 331dot (talk) 13:00, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon

Hello Dairb. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Dairb. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Dairb|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 12:14, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you 331dot (talk) 13:53, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please also see your help desk discussion regarding the image. 331dot (talk) 13:54, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I now see above that you are the CTO- that makes you a paid editor. 331dot (talk) 12:16, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
