Managing a conflict of interest on Wikipedia
[edit]Hello, Janvez. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. —PaleoNeonate – 08:23, 28 February 2021 (UTC)
Janvez: Thank you PaleoNeonate, very helpful. I have no conflict to declare about any edits I have made on this page, or on others for that matter.
Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act of 2015
[edit]Hello @Janvez: Thanks for your words of encouragement on the Charlebois page. You seem to be interested in food safety issues. I wonder if you can help me with a stub called the Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act of 2015. IMHO, it needs expansion. I plan to spruce it up over the next few days and I'd be grateful for your assistance. Magnovvig (talk) 09:31, 2 March 2021 (UTC)
Janvez: Good question. I will look into it.--Janvez (talk) 10:12, 2 March 2021 (UTC)

Talk pages
[edit]Please take some time to learn these key points about using talk pages.
- You can edit a section on a talk page if you want to add a comment relevant to that section. However, if you have a new comment that is not relevant to the section, you should click "new section" at the top of the talk page (you might see something different, perhaps just "+"). Enter a title for the section heading with a very brief statement of its purpose (e.g. I chose "Talk pages" for this section).
- If adding a comment to an existing section, your comment should be indented with a colon at the start of the text that you add. Insert an extra colon for each level of indentation.
- Do not start your comment with your user name (do not type "Janvez" anywhere in your comment).
- At the end of your comment, sign it by adding a space then four tilde characters.
See Help:Talk pages for guidance or ask at WP:Teahouse. Johnuniq (talk) 06:19, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
- yeah, when you start a comment with "Janvez", it sounds like you are addressing yourself. Just say whatever it is you have to say, then sign your comment in the normal way-- at the end of your comment.--- Possibly (talk) 03:02, 4 March 2021 (UTC)
