Nonstop messages from KiranBOT

[edit]

Hello @Usernamekiran: May I know why your bot KiranBOT has been messaging me this three times in a row, even after I denied it with the bots template? Thanks. — ‎‎‎hhypeboyh 💬✏️ 03:13, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@HypeBoy: Hello. Thanks for bringing the issues to my notice. I was aware of that would happen because of the way you had denied the bot, and I was going to fix it soon. Regarding the repeated messages: the bot runs every night at 03:03, UTC. During every run, it was looking for KiranBOTmsgID:1253441495 on your talkpage, as part of the original message. The msg ID is unique to each message. As you were removing the message along with msg ID, the bot was thinking the message was never delivered, hence it was re-adding that message. I have fixed both these issues now, and no-one should receive duplicated messages. —usernamekiran (talk) 17:32, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Usernamekiran: Thank you for fixing the issues. I didn't realize I denied your bot wrong. Should I change how I write my bot template? Best, — ‎‎‎hhypeboyh 💬✏️ 01:12, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@HypeBoy: no. you denied it correctly, but my bot was looking for a few other templates, and not the one you had inserted. I have fixed the issue now - now it looks for all variants. In short, you do not have to make any changes, now all the variants of "nobots" have been covered. —usernamekiran (talk) 18:31, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A fox for you!

Thanks for working on the AMP links task - I really appreciate it! Sorry for not following up with it after I filed the request; I've been dealing with some personal issues that have taken up most of my time. Cheers!

typo on Userpage from KiranBot

[edit]

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that the link to disable Task 8 of KiranBot has a typo. Synonimany (talk) 14:02, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Synonimany: Hello. I checked it, and it is working fine for me. Maybe it was a one-time fluke? Would you kindly try it again? —usernamekiran (talk) 17:46, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, if it wasn't clear what i was referring to, i meant the text, which links to the disable page says diasbale and not disable. Synonimany (talk) 18:20, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
On Third Read, it really does mean the wrong thing, sorry Synonimany (talk) 18:34, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Synonimany: oh. I understood it now. I was thinking about the link leading to the page, or page title. I have fixed the typo now. Thank you very much for pointing it out —usernamekiran (talk) 19:28, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No Problem. Happy to help Synonimany (talk) 19:29, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from CalleyMcClure (11:57, 5 November 2024)

[edit]

Hi there! There is a wikipedia page for my boss (Samir Brikho) that I just tried to edit 2 parts. 1 was his nationality (that worked) and 1 under personal life he asked me to change it as it says he is divorced but his current status is married and he has 3 children. How I do not want to cite a copy of his marriage certificate, is there anyway I can upload it to a moderator to check and allow it? Thank you for your time --CalleyMcClure (talk) 11:57, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please could you make sure that project banners go inside the shell, unlike this edit? Thanks — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 14:59, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@MSGJ: Hi. That task finished around the same time. There were very few errors, I will soon fix them up in a few days time. I apologise for the inconvenience, and the errors. —usernamekiran (talk) 16:01, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Rhys.L.Williiams (18:53, 8 November 2024)

[edit]

Batsun removed some content I had included in an article ("Nonet for Strings"), for legitimate reasons I believe. Via the "Talk" section, he explained why. I just replied to him in "Talk," and asked a question. Could you review this briefly and provide me with your expert opinion? Grateful if you are able and willing to do this. --Rhys.L.Williiams (talk) 18:53, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Teahouse thread archived message on usernamespace other than TP

[edit]

Is it possible that I can disable KiranBOT from delivering teahouse archive messages to my talkpage, and rather have them on separate page like User:ExclusiveEditor/Teahouse? Thanks, ExclusiveEditor Notify Me! 05:43, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@ExclusiveEditor: Hi. Sorry, but currently no, that is not be possible. But given the low occurrences of you receiving the archival notification, I think it would be more practical to use an archive bot like Lowercase sigmabot III or ClueBot III, and using {{DNAU}} and manually archiving the notifications to your subpage. —usernamekiran (talk) 12:54, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

IDHT ?

[edit]

Hi, I read your post on the RRfA, which I agreed with, but had a question: what is IDHT ? I checked the list of Wikipedia abbreviations, and it’s not there ? Thanks. Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 00:17, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Mr Serjeant Buzfuz: Hi. in short, WP:IDHT means hearing to, but not listening/following/complying the suggestions by others. —usernamekiran (talk) 06:02, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Hadn’t come across that before. Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 11:29, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
