Welcome!

Hello, Kylekieran, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, like Saint Patrick West, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for page creation, and may soon be deleted (if it hasn't already).

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  FlyingToaster 07:36, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on St Patrick's and Carriacou (Petite Martinique)MP requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Riotrocket8676 You gotta problem with that? 13:29, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For every category you create, you should specify parent categories to which it belongs. You can do this by listing the parents near the bottom of the page, each enclosed in double brackets like so:

[[Category:Geography of Grenada]]
[[Category:Hypothetical second category]]

I've added at least one parent to the category. I invite you to check my work for accuracy and completeness.

I am a human being, not a bot, so you can contact me if you have questions about this. Best regards, --Stepheng3 (talk) 18:08, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your RfA

[edit]

Hi Kylekieran. Since you have only 90 edits of experience, your RfA seems to fall into the category of "not now". A couple of users have left you suggestions at the RfA page for how you can gain more experience around Wikipedia and consider running for adminship in a few months. If you wish, you may want to withdraw your RfA soon, which many candidates do when their request for adminship doesn't have a very good chance of passing as "successful". It does look like you've been a Wikipedian for 8 months (since January 2009), but your editing has only been sparse during that time, so other editors will generally consider that to be underexperienced.

If you want to let the RfA continue running, that's okay as well; but I'm just letting you know that it likely won't pass at this time. Let me know if you have questions. :-) Best, JamieS93 be kind to newcomers 21:31, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Kyle! I regret having to inform you that I have closed your RfA early per the "not now" and snowball clauses. You definitely are capable of becoming a great editor, though, so don't be disheartened. Continue learning your way around the site, and feel free to re-run in about five or six months.

Now, as a separate matter, I see you have requested WP:ADOPT. As such: {{adoptoffer}}

I would be very happy to help you out. Just click here to accept or decline my offer. Cheers, Dylan620 (contribs, logs)help us! 22:29, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of St Patrick's and Carriacou (Petite Martinique)MP

[edit]

The article St Patrick's and Carriacou (Petite Martinique)MP has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Poorly constructed, very few links to the page, no references.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Grenada national icons

[edit]

Hi Kylekieran, What is the source for your edit to Grenada#National Icon -- specifically National Animal = Ostrich? Fair use rationale for File:San fernando.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:San fernando.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Black Kite 19:59, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Note

[edit]

I have tagged multiple other logos that you have uploaded with the same tag as above. These are clearly not your copyrighted images and will be deleted unless they receieve fair-use rationales. Also, I have removed them from the Template as non-free images are not allowed there - see WP:NFCC#9. Please do not tag images that you do not own as your own creation in future, or you may be blocked. Thankyou. Black Kite 19:59, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (File:Kieran World.jpg)

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Kieran World.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ZooFari 03:59, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Black Grenadian

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Black Grenadian. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Black Grenadian. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:08, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on TruValu Supermarket requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. • Hi there, I see that you've recently started to switch the talk page banners for WP:T&T from being a parameter of the Caribbean project's template to a stand-alone template. Can I ask why? Was it discussed anywhere, or have you just decided to do it yourself? [edit]

Per terms of WP:NFCC #9, the use of non-free images outside of the main article namespace is not permitted. This means that you may not use non-free imagery on Portal pages. File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Carriacou and Petite Martinique constituency.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 13:28, 20 June 2010 (UTC). I have performed a search with the contents of List of defunct airlines of Trinidad and Tobago, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: List of airlines of Trinidad and Tobago. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. 173.45.72.122 (talk) 01:25, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article St Patrick's and Carriacou (Petite Martinique)MP has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Un-referenced, almost completely templates, no real substance in the article.

Proposed Deletion of Sandhurst Miggins

[edit]

The article is well researched, and it's interesting to Caribbean users. I don't see why it needs to be deleted if the research is sound and interesting. What's the problem? (mikomango (talk) 03:02, 5 November 2010 (UTC))[reply]

I appreciate that you are acting in good faith, but it is best if featured articles are nominated by people who have worked closely on them. In this way, they can give reasoned replies to reviewers and be familiar enough with the sources to act on suggested improvements. Someone who has not worked on the article can not provide this input, so the nomination may continue until opposition to it becomes so overwhelming that the article is failed; this takes away time from reviewers. While the Trinidad and Tobago article is of reasonable quality, it is not yet of featured quality, and principal contributors must be consulted before a nomination, as required in the featured article candidate instructions. Speedy deletion nomination of NIDCO

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on NIDCO requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Nima1024 (talk) 19:50, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on K.C. Confectionery Limited requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Greetings! A stub template or category which you created has been nominated for renaming or deletion at Wikipedia:Stub types for deletion. This would make it easier for people to find the wikiproject, since the software generates a link automatically at the top of the page. I closed your RFA as it's clearly in WP:NOTNOW and WP:SNOW, sorry Secret account 02:35, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kyle, I would have asked this question/made this comment at your RFA, had it run longer. You mentioned having 5000 edits, so I looked at your contribs to talk spaces, which is where I often look to gauge suitability for adminship (being able to communicate with people and resolve disputes is very important for an admin). Page after page, almost all, of your article Talk:-space edits (26% of total) were to change or add a project banner, and you have less than one screen of User talk:-space edits. That gives me no way to evaluate how well you communicate and solve problems. You also have almost no edits to the project space other than the portal, so there's no way to tell how well you can interpret policy. I'm not saying this to criticize you, just as some suggestions of what you could be thinking about if you do want to become an admin in the future. Franamax (talk) 02:55, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kylekieran. I'm just wondering if you had bothered to read RfA guide, miniguide to RfA, and Advice for RfA candidates, and saw the warning before you transcluded your RfA. If appropriate, please also read Advice for younger editors. If you are really wanting to be an admin someday, do also read these RfA criteria, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page. Hi Kylekieran, to add on to what's been or whathas not been said. It isn't so much about age as it is other factors, mainly I noticed your command of English language & grammar was not used adaquetely in the RFA notably in the nom statement and in Question 1. Grenadian referendum

[edit]

Hello Kylekieran. Please only add the invalid/blank votes to the table when you have a source, and when you do so, also add them to the totals. The figures you were adding meant that the table didn't make any sense because the totals were not a sum of the yes/no/invalid/blank. I've reverted your last edit to the main results table because you also restored out-of-date figures from the PEO, which updated them earlier today - please be more careful! Notice

The file File:Grenada 2013 Election Map.svg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Better version (valid SVG) exists on Commons.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --TheImaCow (talk) 20:18, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read!
