Re:Wikimedia blog profile

It is great! There is one thing though. My first name is not "Antonius", it is "Antonio". :-), I really had a laugh about the name. I told my son, "You know "Antonius" sounds pretty cool, it sounds like one of those gladiator names out of Spartacus." Tony the Marine (talk) 18:50, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

Oops! I guess we should have gone with our first name for you "Antonius Maximus Wikipedius"? :) I've updated with the correction. Thanks so much and kudos for the inspiration you provide through your work on Wikipedia. Thanks, Matthew (WMF) 19:29, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi,

WMF should probably be aware of this https://www.facebook.com/bbcworldservice/posts/698511440167985 http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01kb0bg complaining about "sceptics" WP:OWNing his article to the BBC.

Sheldrake is, as his biography demonstrates, a former scientist who has since the 1980s independently put forward his own ideas, which have been largely ignored by the scientific community for basically not being either scientific, or true.

Sheldrake's complaints are largely accurate. Basically, he's complaining about the correct implementation of WP:FRINGE. There is nothing in the article that isn't in line with current guidelines. Yes, we have BLP but we also need to be fair to his critics.

Blog summary is here: http://skeptools.wordpress.com/2013/10/12/right-wrong-complaints-craigslist-sheldrake-wikipedia/

Just want to share

Matthew,

I just wanted to share this with you. Today I spent Veterans Day eating outside my home with my family where I live in Arizona. When I returned home, to my surprise I found out that I was honored in a speech made in the town of Guanica, Puerto Rico, making this day kind of special. Here is the link:

Tony the Marine (talk) 03:45, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

That's very nice, Tony. Congratulations. And Happy Veterans Day for yesterday!! Matthew (WMF) 19:58, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
