Welcome to Wikipedia

Hi, I noticed you are new, and that you are making a good start by adding an interesting and appropriate article to Wikipedia. I think some official greeting or another will be posted to your page, but in the meanwhile a couple things that might help:

a) Only the first mention of a word or phrase is linked. This is explained in WP:CONTEXT. To avoid making the article hard to read, usually only terms are chosen that would not be well known to a typical reader on the subject, and which link to articles with strongly related subjects.

b) You seem to be using an text editor

with word wrap

turned on. Wiki articles don't do this, in order that people with different size editing windows don't have trouble editing it later.

c) The links to the petersandmay site are broken.

d) At the moment the article is carefully neutral and informative. However, when I got to the last line, I guessed that you are in some way involved with one of these yacht transport companies. If that's the case, would would need to be careful not to add more material that is advertising, or expresses a point of view that others may strongly disagree with. For example, what would happen eventually is that another editor coming across the article by chance will simply delete the links to commercial sites (there are more than the usual number, already). Alternatively the editor might add a tag at the top to the effect of "This article reads like an advertisement". (This is not a tag that could be removed, without substantial article rewriting.) Sentences viewed as having a "conflict of interest" might be deleted. (Following restrictions in WP:CONFLICT). However at the moment, the article is fairly neutral and quite informative.

I hope you decide to contribute to other Wiki shipping articles, there are quite a lot which need improvement from someone who knows the field well!

Answering a question of yours

(This is a duplicate of what I left on my talk page. Wanted to make sure you got it.) "Passaging" is an interesting example, because there's already an article Passaging, but it's a completely different subject. So a shipping article would not want to link to it. Suppose you wanted to create an article about passaging in the shipping sense...first you would decide on an article title. It might be something like "Passaging (shipping)" or "Passaging (nautical)" or "Passaging (naval)". But which? This is where a little familiarity with your subject area in Wiki helps. It's best when an article "fits" with others gracefully. So I looked up "mast" and found a disambiguation page that includes "Mast (naval)" and "Mast (sailing)". So probably the name of the new article would be "Passaging (naval)"...unless you want to write an article specifically about sailing vessels. This doesn't quite get you home free with the article title, though, since it's possible there already is an article — under an unexpected name. This happened to me recently — I created an article that was in part a duplicate of an existing one — so it pays to browse a handful of related articles, and to look in the advanced search (click the search button on the left nav bar, leaving the search box blank).

In terms of good Wiki references for style, content, format...there are so many! I've been collecting them, both in bookmarks, and in a separate (and now quite lengthy) word processing file. But taken all together, they are quite overwhelming, so if there are issues that interest you, let me know which ones. You can, of course, have my bookmarks or my word processing file, but it may be easier just to learn as you go. I've just decided to begin using strikeout. I'm not even sure what the accepted usage is! But I felt it wasn't useful for to leave my sentences on some article's Discussion page, when the issue had been resolved since I left the comment. Hi, I answered your question, and other issues with the Institute on my page. It's pretty involved, but the answer to your immediate question is: move the image further down in the article, not at the top. That's what the editor's comment was directed to.
