Clarification
Looking through the history, I noticed you added the text "Wikipedia articles are generally written based on in-depth, independent, reliable sourcing with some subject-specific exceptions relating to independence." in this diff. I am confused about what "relating to independence" means here. I asked at Wikipedia_talk:Notability#Confusing_passage but received no response so I am hoping you can help me understand. Thanks, Ca talk to me! 10:48, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hi. That was a result of an RFC back in 2021, which I referenced in the edit summary. It's been archived, so it might be difficult to find, so you can find it at Wikipedia talk:Notability/Archive 72#Request for Comment on the Subject-specific notability guidelines (SNG). I didn't have a dog in that hunt, simply closed the discussion and then edited the section as per the desired outcome. I can't speak to what the editor who wrote that copy meant, but only my interpretation of it, which I do not think is what you want. You might want to ask some of the active participants in that discussion, or the editor who made the RfC proposal. Onel5969 TT me 11:03, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
Middle East Eye
Hi,
I noticed you reverted the changes I made to the article: Middle East Eye. I wanted a better explanation than "Not an improvement"
The changes I made include new sections and the style and structure follows that of other news websites such as Al Monitor and The Intercept.
Can you please explain how and why you came to that judgement - otherwise I will revert back to my edits.
Thanks Sabotage1 (talk) 12:22, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hi. I've added a comment at the article talk page to try to get discussion of this edit started there.
- By the way, on a separate topic: I came here to thank Onel5969 for edits to Carrier Sekani Family Services. I was away from Wikipedia for a long time and it's been many years since I've created an article. I really appreciated seeing a sign that someone had noticed my article. I used to do New Page Patrol but have forgotten how; thanks, Onel5969, for all your work on that; and your edits to Carrier Sekani Family Services were quite correct, fixing my mistakes. ☺Coppertwig (talk) 15:11, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
The list of her compositions is an orphan intentionally. I don't know where it comes from - most likely copyvio from her website - I wonder if it should be deleted. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:06, 3 August 2023 (UTC)
- Lists like that, in my dealing with copyvios, do not really fall under the copyvio rule, since you can't paraphrase that information. I usually go to user:Diannaa or user:JustLettersandNumbers for copyvio questions. I agree that made sense to split it from the main article, and that made de-orphaning it very easy. - Relief about the copyvio - I was afraid. After someone formats it, it may be linked, but right now, I think the list in the bio, with only sourced info, does the better job, and as it's planned for the Main page, the malformatted thing looks just awkward. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:33, 3 August 2023 (UTC)

Another Review Request
Hello once again @Onel5969,
I have some more articles in NPP which I would like to be reviewed (mostly translated articles). If you're fine with it, can you take a look at the following articles and potentially mark them as reviewed? They are: Artik (singer), Little Big videography, 1990 (Max Barskih album), 5sta Family, Universal Music Russia, Mot (rapper), Karina Kross, and Vanya Dmitrienko.
I also have two articles (Danya Milokhin & Big Baby Tape) that were previously deleted in the past, but I have since recreated them and made sure more sources and content were added (not all of the information in these articles mentioned was/could be brought over, so I placed an expansion tag at the top of each). I wanted to give you a heads up on them just in case you decide to examine them/mark them as reviewed.
If you can do all of them or even just a combination of them, then that would be great. If not, it's perfectly fine. Please let me know what you think of any of these articles. Thanks in advance for your reply, and also for the assistance thus far. Losipov (talk) 21:04, 6 August 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Akontombra Senior High School
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Akontombra Senior High School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://ghanahighschools.com/ghs_schools/akontombra-senior-high/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Whpq (talk) 20:44, 15 August 2023 (UTC)

Help: List of highest-grossing Indian films
Hi Onel5969, please check checkout the List of highest-grossing Indian films page, the page lost its reliability, some movies were removed from the list and the gross numbers were unreadable as they are changed from crores to billions and also so many columns from the list removed due to edits made by the user User:Cinephile4ever . I cannot undo them because of the article protection. Kindly undo them to previous format like the last edit you did https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_highest-grossing_Indian_films&direction=next&oldid=1168017491

Hello, I created Cumhuriyet Street and Fahri Batıca. Could you help me to solve the reference error problems? Regards, Kadı Message 23:40, 20 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hi. When you use a "ref name", you can only use it with one set of urls. You were using the same ref name over and over again. See the edit history of the two articles to see what I did to correct it. In addition, in footnotes/references, you need to use Gregorian calendar dates. Hope this helps. Wrong disambiguation
Hi, I see that you are disambiguating by substituting Rothschild & Co for Rothschild Bank. This is problematic for a couple of reasons. In the case of Renée Vivien, Rothschild & Co was established in 2011 & Vivien died in 1909. Second, the disambiguation that you did at Renée Vivien was for Rothschilds, which in this case was clearly meant to be the Rothschild family. In fact, until today this edit today, the redirect was pointing towards the Rothschild family.
I reverted the redirect change. Would you please help fix the damage caused by all this by rescinding your edits? Peaceray (talk) 19:28, 21 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hi. I disagree. While the current incarnation of that bank was instituted in 2011, it's founding can be traced back to 1811, with the founding of N M Rothschild & Sons, which is what I would have dabbed with, except it redirects to the Rothschild & Co. page (which is a correct redirect, imho). The second one you are correct, and I've self-reverted.

Quick question, in need of help
Hi Onel5969, as a New Page Patroller, I wanted to cover more ground and participate in the AfC (of which I have been doing for some time). I stumbled across a passage stating that to activate the tool I must first turn on a "Yet Another Article" and lastly clear my browser cache and I should he good to go but I still can't find the AfC reviewer tool anywhere, what could be wrong?. shelovesneo (talk) 01:13, 27 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hi. It's a tool on the gadgets tab under your preferences. In the editing section, it's titled, "Yet Another AFC Helper Script". Seeking guidance
Was this this a good draftification, technically speaking? The page was created in 2006 but the initial and sole prior revision to the band WP:AHIJACKing was a language redirect. I would consider this redirect immaterial from the standpoint of attribution and history retention and treat this as a brand new page. I retargeted the redirect left over from the move to the intended phrase. What would you have done? —Alalch E. 20:24, 31 August 2023 (UTC)
- Personally, I rarely draftified any article less than a week old. But that's me. Looking at the article, it doesn't come close to passing notability standards, so no harm in moving it to draftspace, as long as you insured the right editor, Bc.rox.all rather than Sandstein, was notified, which you did. Your move of retargeting was also spot on. Your interaction with the new editor who created the article was laudable. Kudos. Onel5969 TT me 22:21, 31 August 2023 (UTC)
