Information icon Hello, I'm TechnoSquirrel69. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Religion and health, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 07:02, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable sourcing

[edit]

Hi, Rahil, and welcome to Wikipedia! I undid your addition to Suicidal ideation, for several reasons: mostly because it sounded like advice intended for people dealing with someone with suicidal ideation, and we never give medical (or legal) advice in a Wikipedia article. Also, partly because it read like a guide or how-to, rather than content destined for an encyclopedic article; and finally, because the source you added, some doctor's blog, would not be considered a reliable source, and all statements of fact at Wikipedia must be WP:Verifiable by reliable sources. In the case of biomedical topics, such as suicidal ideation, the sourcing requirements are even stricter; you can read about them at Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources (medicine). Working on one of these articles is much harder than most other articles, because of the stricter requirements. You might want to avoid biomedical topics for now, and come back to them in a few months, after you've become more accustomed to the way things work around here. Feel free to reply below if you have any comments or questions, and you can always get help at the Wikipedia:Help desk. Once again, welcome! Mathglot (talk) 08:50, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
