User:Showbiz826 socks

I just want to let you know I have opened an investigation of the 2401:4900:40A0:0:0:0:0:0/43 IP range. The last investigation was pretty much abandoned, but Showbiz826 in recent days has really vamped up their disruptive edits through the IP range. Chariotrider555 (talk) 15:26, 13 January 2021 (UTC)

Chariotrider555, sounds good to me. There are a couple of other ranges where they sometimes edit, but that's by far their main range. Ravensfire (talk) 15:27, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
I noticed you and Chariotrider555 tracking rajput related pages. A new user called Bhojpal is involved in opinion based edits on List of Rajput dynasties and states and other such pages. I have reverted some but still needs scrutiny. Heba Aisha (talk) 13:10, 16 January 2021 (UTC)

"Personal attacks" reply

He deleted some stuff because he though they were "too mythological". If that isn't vandalism I don't know what is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by YaSiRu11 (talkcontribs) 15:33, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

YaSiRu11, then you don't know what vandalism is. Again READ the page I linked (especially WP:NOTVAND section). Good faith edits, which those absolutely were, with good edit summaries, which those had, should NEVER be described as vandalism. Questioning an edit is fine, using loaded terminology is not. PROD

Hi Ravensfire, I have removed the proposed deletion tag that you have placed on Balaji Murugadoss as this was previously deleted through an AFD process in 2018. Please note PROD should not be used for pages that were previously discussed at AFD. For more info, please read WP:PROD. I am going to AFD this as this page doesn't look similar to that of 2018's and hence doesn't qualify for WP:G4 either. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Umakant Bhalerao (talkcontribs) 05:51, January 29, 2021 (UTC)

Umakant Bhalerao, thanks for spotting that - I had tried to move it to draft, and there's already a one-two line draft article, so not something I could really do other than a copy-paste job. I'm fine with AFD, there's not much other choice. Hopefully the creator will ask it to be draftified. Ravensfire (talk) 14:23, 29 January 2021 (UTC)

Dear Ravensfire, Thanks for showing me the Copyvio Tool. I have made my best edit so far by expanding Who's Your Daddy (web series). Can you please share your review on this? Amused?

Hey there, thought you might be amused, well, slightly anyway, by this. Pakistani actress Hania Aamir was apparently pissed off that Wikipedia had the wrong birthdate listed, 11 February. This was enough for her to release a series of Instagram stories, and to curse the offender. "God willing, you will have to answer to Him about that". Er, um, that seems a bit extreme for a global encyclopedia that anyone can--wait, look who effed it up. I dunno, now I kind of want some celestial justice here. Think the Pope will consider installing an SPI booth at the Vatican? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:33, 12 February 2021 (UTC)

About Images Deletion

Hii in crime patrol article I think there was atleast one image of award winning and also those images are not copyrighted. Please add any one of them image--Vansh tyagi24 (talk) 15:42, 22 February 2021 (UTC)

Vansh tyagi24, those are the other images you've uploaded, right? Those are all tagged as "Own work" which I highly doubt is accurate. Own work means you actually took the picture, and given your track record of prior images, that's unlikely without substantial evidence. Three of them, for example, have Facebook tags in the metadata, so it's obvious where those are from. There's no indication of where the other images are from, so it's impossible to determine the copyright status. I really need to get a deletion request going on those images. Q.

Is medium.com work as citation--Vansh tyagi24 (talk) 04:58, 25 February 2021 (UTC)

Vansh tyagi24, medium.com is generally NOT considered a reliable source. It's basically a blog site. See the entry on the Reliable Source/Perennial sources page. Ravensfire (talk) 14:58, 25 February 2021 (UTC)

When Draft:Amit pandey will convert into Article? Krishnajipandey (talk) 11:00, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

@Krishnajipandey: In the article's current state, it does not meet the general notability or actor notability guidelines. The sourcing isn't there - you need multiple high quality sources that focus on Pandey, currently no source in the article meets that criteria. Ravensfire (talk) 12:49, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

About Sanjeev Tyagi's Article

Now, I improved the article so much and mostly lines have inline citations. So please stop discussion of deletion. And There are many articles of living people from same show with 5 to 6 citations. and i am working on it to make more it reliable. And I not write only about crime patrol while write about major shows, movies, Theatre play, Webseries/ webfilms. So, Redirection to single show is a insult of actor. ( waiting for reply ) THANK YOU Vansh tyagi24 (talk) 08:54, 27 February 2021 (UTC)

Vansh tyagi24, I've reviewed it with your changes and I'm still not seeing how it meets WP:NACTOR. To go into more detail, several of the sources you've added are very poor quality. Clickbait articles (lots of image, little text) are just terrible sources for Wikipedia. There's a lot of excessive references that just aren't good quality. You added information about Hanak, but source doesn't mention what role he plays, just that he's in the production. Theatre production - one source proves the show exists, but doesn't mention Tyagi. The other is about Tyagi, but doesn't mention theatre. Not helpful. Other television appearances have no source at all. Not helpful.
Also, once a deletion discussion has started and others have commented, it must run through until the end. I couldn't close it early if I wanted. Ravensfire (talk) 14:15, 27 February 2021 (UTC)

Asking a question

I have created an article named Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha . Now the problem is that it is not showing in Google search. As my experience a reviewed Wikipedia article only shows in Google search and a pending is not. So my question is that. Is my article Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha has been reviewed? If not then if you can review it please do it as fast as you can Jogesh 69 (talk) 16:44, 2 March 2021 (UTC)Jogesh 69

New articles are set with NOINDEX until a new page patroller reviews them - Wikipedia:Teahouse/Questions/Archive_658#Wikipedia_page_not_showing_on_Google_search_results. That just takes time as there are a lot of pages that need reviewing. I'm not a new page reviewer, so I can't help speed that up. There's no deadline for Wikipedia, so just be patient. Saswata2333, there's more information at WP:DADASAHEB, but basically, it's a non-notable copycat award. She did not win the actual Dadasaheb Phalke award given at the National Film Awards. There also wasn't any reliable source included for the award. Ravensfire (talk) 13:24, 4 March 2021 (UTC)

Proxy editor

Hey there, saw your recent reversion of this edit at Velayudham and thought I'd mention that Fylindfotberserk and I saw a flare-up of pro-Vijay edits (financial data inflations, etc) from someone (possibly Bothiman) who was using multiple proxies from various parts of the world. The first flare up was reported here, and I reported this latest one here. Take care, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:35, 4 March 2021 (UTC)

Cyphoidbomb, oh joy, love it when annoying socks return. Hamishif98, Not going to happen. It was blocked on the global blacklist because you kept spamming it over and over using multiple accounts. See MediaWiki_talk:Spam-blacklist/archives/May_2020. Wikipedia DOES NOT TOLERATE SPAM. Gentle reminders didn't work. Warnings didn't work. Apparently, only very direct action works. Since you did it across multiple Wikipedia sites, the only option was to globally block. Your actions drove the result. Ravensfire (talk) 17:43, 4 March 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for letting us know about hte new domain though, I'll get a request is to have that added to the blacklist. Ravensfire (talk) 17:44, 4 March 2021 (UTC)

Greetings

Hi Ravensfire,

My first article was here of Amanat Ali (singer) since then I have created many articles voluntarily and one of the articles was Draft:Shadab_Siddiqui but its been 3 months and the article wasn't even reviewed by anyone. Recently a song by the singer "Tum Bin" went viral on social media and on television channels so I have also updated the article with almost notable links to Indian media, so by any chance can you review this article? either it can be approved or declined but at least it should be reviewed.

Thanks --Static Hash (talk) 13:07, 18 March 2021 (UTC)

Static Hash, I'm not a reviewer, so I can't help you there. The backlog of articles to review is pretty massive, and as the note at the top says, it can take 4+ months sometimes. There is no deadline on Wikipedia, so you just need to be patient. Some areas you can continue to improve the article would be to add sources for the date of birth, without a source, it would be removed. A couple of times you're using the same article published in different websites - just use one website, please. There are still several places where you're using multiple references when really only one is needed (WP:REFBOMB). Ravensfire (talk) 13:39, 18 March 2021 (UTC)

Don't Blame

You blamed me! You need to know what PERSONAL ATTACKS actually means. You criticized my grammar although you could correct them if there was any grammatical mistakes but you choose to criticize. Also you wrote: I'm not sure if it is written in neutral tone, and I see many grammatical mistakes etc. Don't add puffery material or content which seem to be baised, try to be neutral, this was JUDGEMENTAL, which is not appreciable. I just pointed out your spelling mistake it doesn't mean I did PERSONAL ATTACK! please DON'T BLAME by saying that. you really need to work on you communication skills (just advice not personal). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Farazdeswali (talkcontribs) 21:46, March 18, 2021 (UTC)

Farazdeswali, NONE of the comments made towards you were personal attacks. It's a comment to help you improve. This is an international project and nobody expects everyone to be perfect. I'm certainly not perfect in my grammar, and when it gets corrected or pointed out, I just strive to do better. You WILL have people commenting on your edits, reverting them, correcting them, improving them and you need to consider how you're going to handle that. Describing something as racist when it clearly wasn't is absolutely a personal attack. Continue with the somewhat hostile approach you've had thus far (all caps, even!) or realize that part of collaboration means others pointing out where you can do better. Collaboration works much better when you assume that comments from others are there to help you, not to denigrate. Think on it. Ravensfire (talk) 03:05, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
Ravensfire, Now I appreciate your tone. I reacted because of that comment(Don't add puffery material or content which seem to be baised, try to be neutral) which was not but by the way Let it go. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Farazdeswali (talkcontribs) 22:17, March 18, 2021 (UTC)

Regarding your message at Talk Page

On the Talk Page of List of vice presidents of India by longevity, you wrote the following :

On a different topic around notability, the title says longevity, which usually would refer to the life of the person. The page is all about their age though. This is a really confusing article. In addition, this entire page could be put as a short paragraph in the main Vice President article. I'm not seeing somehting that screams it should be split out.[1]

On this note, if the name of the article can be changed from List of vice presidents of India by longevity to List of vice presidents of India by age, as it is mainly dealing with age, which I agree. I named it so to maintain uniformity as other two pages on List of presidents of India by longevity and List of prime ministers of India by longevity, both were using the word "longevity" and not age, but List of vice presidents of the United States by age is using the word "age". On putting this entire page as a short paragraph on main Vice President of India article, I would request to keep it as a separate page as Presidents, Prime Ministers of many countries including India have this type of articles separately, but there is no issue in putting a summary of this article in the main article, and inserting this article's link in main article, but keeping this page as a separate page. Will that work out?

Kavyansh.Singh, comments like this are really best left at the article talk page, where is more likely that interested editors will see it and comment. I've got the page followed on my WP:WATCHLIST so I'll see when it's been edited. I understand that several other pages are called longevity, but if you look at them, they have a different focus than your article, which in part is what triggered my comment. That IP user was trying get people to agree with the unconfirmed comparison on the respective talk pages. I already told him/her once and for all to stop. I hate repeating myself. — FilmandTVFan28 (talk) 12:58, 22 March 2021 (UTC)

Priyanka Choudhary

I had already quoted so many references for the subject Priyanka Choudhary to meet it all the requirements for WP:NACTOR and WP:GNG, but I really don't understand why are you again and again adding the the General Notability Criteria. It kind of feels silly, because there seems to be similar articles like Priyal Mahajan and Debattama Saha which have half the amount of SOURCES that I quote for my WP:BLP articles, plus these subjects Priyal Mahajan and Debattama Saha don't even fulfill WP:NACTOR and WP:GNG as much as the subject Priyanka Choudhary does! However, they do not contain any TEMPLATES. Is it that the WIKIPEDIAN ADMINS target only some EDITORS? No seriously, it seems very ridiculous....--Aleyamma38 (talk) 17:26, 22 March 2021 (UTC)

Aleyamma38, Please stop with the hyperbole and shouting, it distracts from anything useful and presents your view in a poor light. This is related to an article, so the discussion needs to be happening on the article talk page where other interested editors are far more likely to find it. On other articles, see WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS - basically, this discussion is about this article, not any other. Ravensfire (talk) 17:34, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
Ravensfire Excuse me I don't really shout! And, now you are giving me more surety that you are teamed up with certain other editors and targeting me! Great keep it up! And you haven't even answered what I asked for! Okay I will present about the wicked Wikipedian Adminstrators targeting some editors to admins who don't play SUCH DIRTY GAMES!--Aleyamma38 (talk) 17:41, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
Aleyamma38, All caps and bolded? That's considered shouting. It makes your comment harder to read because of the distracting text. I highly doubt I'm the only one that's mentioned this to you. Look through other talk page posts, you won't see that formatting. Also, I'm not an administrator, that's pretty easy to check - you'll see my name isn't there. Feel free to bring it up through - WP:ANI is the correct venue. I'm hoping to see you start a reasonable discussion about the tag on the article talk page, that would be a helpful gesture. Ravensfire (talk) 17:51, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
Part of what I think you're missing is that Wikipedia is a collaborative editing environment, and the ideal editing process is called Boldly make a change, but when it's Reverted, start a Discussion on the talk page. Article tags in good faith, especially on newer articles, really should be discussed on the article talk page. There were issues with exaggeration in that article early on that have been removed, but that made my concerns about notability more significant. Generally, two series with significant roles is what NACTOR is wanting, and Choudhary has just the one. Again though, article talk page... Ravensfire (talk) 17:54, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
Ravensfire Yes I do use CAPS AND BOLD, obviously I can't change what other people think about that! Oh yeah the Drmies and Fizconiz with whom YOU ARE TEAMED UP IN PLAYING DIRTY POLICTICS also did say that! But everyone has their STYLE OF WRITING, it not just me and I'm not the ONLY ONE TOO! And, thanks a lot for showing how much Wikipedia is a collaborative editing environment. Keep it up!--Aleyamma38 (talk) 18:00, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
Sigh. Ravensfire (talk) 18:01, 22 March 2021 (UTC)

Ravensfire, I suppose I should be glad to see I'm not the only one getting yelled at. User:Cyphoidbomb, I've asked the editor not to ping me anymore. Pinging someone when they asked not to be pinged is considered harassment. I'm bothered by this, by the yelling, by the inane insults and the phony accusations. Now I'm playing DIRTY POLITICS with Ravensfire? Drmies (talk) 20:26, 22 March 2021 (UTC)

Drmies, for someone with 1400 edits, their style is rather abrasive, isn't it? It doesn't look like advice and suggestion clearly aren't welcomed by them either I know you haven't edited the specifc article discussed here, so pulling you or anyone else in is just bizzare. I've got a pretty good feeling things will end up at ANI. The personal attacks here are one things, continuing them on other talk page is getting a bit over the line. NPA warning left, hopefully they can accept the constructive advice and move on. Ravensfire (talk) 22:40, 22 March 2021 (UTC)

New to wikipedia - interested in your role

Hi I am new to wikipedia and will be making some corrections and additions to the Bulleit Bourbon wikipedia page.

I notice you have reverted my changes (which I will reply to separately) and would like to know your role and authority to revert/edit/moderate content that is added to the Bulleit Bourbon wikipedia page.

For example, I notice that for awards we added, you said they need to be "notable...have a wikipedia page...and secondary source." Who decides which awards are "notable" within the Bourbon industry? This seems subjective to me at the least.

Any insight you can provide about you and your role -- as well as any guidance I can review as to how to properly add to the wikipedia community would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your attention.

Maxcatwiki (talk) 19:13, 25 March 2021 (UTC)

Maxcatwiki, I'm an editor, like everyone else here, including you. My apologies for not leaving a welcome message on your talk page that may have helped some. That full list of unsourced awards had a couple of problems. First, it's totally unsourced, Wikipedia's Verification policy requires information to be supported by reliable sources so readers can verify claims. Wikipedia also tries to avoid WP:INDISCRIMINATE lists, which is exactly what this represents. Major, significant awards are good, but there are a lot of meaningless / trivia awards in the spirit industry. I do have a question for you, do you have a WP:COI around this article, or are being WP:PAID for these edits? Neither prohibits you from editing, but please read those pages as disclosures can be required. Ravensfire (talk) 19:36, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
Ravensfire, Thanks for the reply and information. I have updated my page with my payment disclosure. I did notice that someone else has just made an edit to this page, most likely trying to improve that section, but provides false information (i.e., that Hollis B worked for Diageo for 25 years whereas she only worked for Diageo from 2006-2016) and that third sentence ("Hollis has since changed her name to Hollis B Worth, and writes about her experiences on her website.[12]") is refering to her "experiences" and using a citation that is merely a link to her personal webpage. I don't understand how this is appropriate for the Bulleit Bourbon wikipedia page, and not simply promoting her own self-interest. Your thoughts? Many thanks, Maxcatwiki (talk) 19:02, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
Maxcatwiki, I'm going to copy this to the article talk page, as it's the most relevant there. Someone will need to review what's in the source to verify what's in the article. WP:BLP1E is a relevant policy, where someone is notable because of one thing, so rather than have a separate page, there can be a slight expansion about the person on that one page. Ravensfire (talk) 14:00, 29 March 2021 (UTC)

Alif Revert

Hello, I'm Ravensfire. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Alif (TV series) have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Blogs are not good sources for Wikipedia and shouldn't be referenced

A: Not promotional -- the blog referenced has nothing to do with me, and does not sell any goods, B: Not advertising, not soapbox -- C: Article gives a four line synposis of the plot. The link provides an in-depth synopsis, a fairly complete and well-written plot summary of the drama. D: Purpose of Wikipedia is to provide INFORMATION. SOmeone who is reading the article about ALIF is interested in learning about what is in this TV Series. Existng four line description is highly in-adequate for this purpose. If someone want to learn MORE about the plot, the link - as the title indicates - provides a complete plot summary with spoilers. Actually I wanted this summary, looked up the Wikipedia article, did not find what I was looking for, searched google for summary and came up with this link which has exactly what I was looking for. I added the link to the Wikipedia article so as to save future searchers in my position from this trouble. E: The "REFERENCE" not being sourced to a blog is not relevant in this situation - this is not an academic article - it is plot summary of a TV series. Asaduzaman (talk) 00:26, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

Asaduzaman, blogs are self-published and are not acceptable sources for Wikipedia. See WP:RS and WP:SPS. Ravensfire (talk) 00:40, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

Unbelievable levels of dogmatism combined with refusal to think for yourself!! I give up Asaduzaman (talk) 04:30, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

Asaduzaman, ahhh, so if I don't agree with what you want to do, I can't think for myself? That's what you just said, and that's utterly pathetic. Maybe, JUST maybe, I agree with the policy for avoiding self-published sources AND more importantly, the reasoning behind that policy. And maybe, JUST maybe, that's the reason I reverted the blog you added. So maybe, JUST maybe, you ought to examine your own knee-jerk reaction for dogmatism. Regardless, I do not tolerate people that stoop to personal attacks. I've got your talk page followed, you can make any further response there, your presence on this page is not welcome at this time, and any posts you make here will simple be reverted, unread, as vandalism. Your attitude, and your attitude alone, has driven this action. Ravensfire (talk) 14:01, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

After this unpleasant interaction, I decided to stop making further contributions to Wikipedia. Recently, I came across an article which suggests that other specialists (see my userpage: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Asaduzaman ) have had similar experiences and have responded similarly. Here is a quote from an article on MIT Technology Review, entitled "The Decline of Wikipedia": The main source of those problems is not mysterious. The loose collective running the site today, estimated to be 90 percent male, operates a crushing bureaucracy with an often abrasive atmosphere that deters newcomers who might increase participation in Wikipedia and broaden its coverage. https://www.technologyreview.com/2013/10/22/175674/the-decline-of-wikipedia/ Another useful QUOTE from above article: In their paper on those findings, the researchers suggest updating Wikipedia’s motto, “The encyclopedia that anyone can edit.” Their version reads: “The encyclopedia that anyone who understands the norms, socializes him or herself, dodges the impersonal wall of semi-automated rejection and still wants to voluntarily contribute his or her time and energy can edit.” Asaduzaman (talk) 00:41, 12 June 2021 (UTC)

Hey, that's a new argument that's never been seen before on Wikipedia! I'm amazed! Ravensfire (talk) 00:59, 12 June 2021 (UTC)

Mainly because you did not include references in the edit. It's impossible for a reader to verify what you've added without including those sources. There's enough unsourced stuff in there, but adding more isn't going to help improve Wikipedia. WP:CITEHOW has some good information on how to add references. Ravensfire (talk) 15:04, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

Why not accepting my draft "Deepak Rawat IAS" to create article

Reason why? Let me tell you I have added a ton of reference and sources for the page Aj Ajay Mehta 007 (talk) 17:45, 13 April 2021 (UTC)

Aj Ajay Mehta 007, first, I'm not a new article reviewer, so I couldn't accept the article. I noticed that you used a junk scraper site as a source and removed it, and restored the earlier AFC decline message (which helps reviewers understand prior issues and possible improvements). If I was, it's questionable at best. There's a lot of sources with passing mentions of the article subject, but those don't help with notability. Do you have some type of relation (friend, relative, etc) with this person, or have been WP:PAID to create this article? Ravensfire (talk) 18:22, 13 April 2021 (UTC)

Ok, You have removed that junk site etc. Now it should be accepted. Isn't? And why isn't there notability of article. There are lot notability by many newspapers {those are in wikipedia good site(preferable source,) whatever it is} and there is notability by the bench of Supreme Court of India comprises of Chief Justice of India. Why? I mean how u couldn't find notability? And about relation, I don't have any direct relation with article(person). And about Paid😆😂{paid ऐसा भी होता है क्या-Is that also happen😆😂}. I haven't been paid for this article at all(Not just for this article, for any other, I haven't paid) I am not a paid person at all for anything to do. I just want to improve and add knowledge and information for wikipedia by my own. Aj Ajay Mehta 007 (talk) 04:56, 14 April 2021 (UTC)

Answer it.🙄😑 Aj Ajay Mehta 007 (talk) 17:11, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

Aj Ajay Mehta 007, first, kindly remember that everyone here is a volunteer. Making demands like you've done is rather rude. Second, read again my first reply, especially the first part - I'm not a new article reviewer. I cannot accept the article if I wanted and even if I could, it's unlikely. The sources aren't really strong and feel more like puff pieces that good news articles. Sources need to be focused on the article subject, passing or brief mentions don't meet that criteria. There is no deadline on Wikipedia, just be patient and the article will get reviewed in time. Ravensfire (talk) 17:35, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

Rvt on Duryodhan article

Hii Ravensfire, Why you reverted my edit on Duryodhan article, the movie Rajneeti was based on modern politics of India and not on epic Mahbharat at all, there are many depictions of him in popular culture already, no need to add dubious depiction like that. Best Holy Contributor 92 (talk) 00:50, 14 April 2021 (UTC)

Holy Contributor 92, as I noted in the edit summary, the source explicitly made the comparison. I get you disagree with the source, but Wikipedia works from what sources say, not what we want them to say. Ravensfire (talk) 02:52, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

About Holy Contribution 92 edit warring

Sir this user seems to be sockpuppet of User:Aristocratic 536 as he was interested in changing infobox images of many personalities like Amitabh Bachan, Alia Bhatt, Tamannaah etc. and same they have done at Virat Kohli's article too as they have removed the releavent 2017 photo of Virat. And their are few another changes too which match with the contributions of sockpuppet account and their invenstigation is also opened at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Aristocratic 536. They are just ruining the infoboxes of articles and adding their desired changes. Please check the history of above mentioned pages and then you will find what I am talking about.119.160.117.1 (talk) 10:07, 14 April 2021 (UTC)

How to upload images

Hai Ravensfire I am new to wikipedia. Question:Where do we get photos to upload in wikipedia? I had upload many photos in wiki pedia and Sir/Mam had removed it and said 'this photos are copyright violation'. I agree it because I have taken from different sites,So where do we get photos to upload. Can I upload photos taken by me? Do I want to upload photos in wikicommen before uploading it in wikipedia? Please help me... --Mam KP (talk) 15:13, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

Mam KP, For the most part, you cannot upload any image you find on-line as they are protected by copyright and have licenses that are not compatible with Wikipedia. This includes Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, but also includes news websites - basically just about everything out there. Images that are in the public domain, or are explicitly listed as having a compatible license (usually Creative Commons licenses). The WP:IUP page has more information on image policy here on the English Wikipedia.
There is a crucial difference between English and Commons - Commons ONLY allows image with compatible licenses. Here we allow fair-use images, but that's only allowed in very limited circumstances (and almost never for living persons).
Specific to India-related film and television articles, Bollywood Hungama has graciously relicensed some of their images as CC-BY-3.0 which is compatible. The template needed on commons has some details on the requirements (c:Template:BollywoodHungama) - basically it has to be from a Bollywood set, party or event in India and taken by a BH photography. Usually the url will mention parties and/or events and will have a BH watermark. You'll see those used in a lot of biographical articles. Hope that helps some. Ravensfire (talk) 15:43, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

Ok thank Ravensfire. Can I ask one more doubt, can l upload tue photos taken by me Mam KP (talk) 16:19, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

Mam KP, if they are actually taken by you and have the metadata intact to prove it, yes. Ravensfire (talk) 16:35, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

Ok or can I upload photos from wiki commen ? Just doubt only 0k Mam KP (talk) 03:05, 20 April 2021 (UTC)

Regarding your last edit on page Deepak Rawat

You have removed the tag or post whatever that is...of the person. For your kind information and knowledge An Indian Administrative Services Officer is also an Indian Civil Servant. So let it be there. So improve your knowledge and go through information before just edit it back. Anything that is beyond your knowledge doesn't mean it is wrong. So learn. As everyone in this world is learner. Thanks. Plz reply. Aj Ajay Mehta 007 (talk) 04:16, 21 April 2021 (UTC)

Aj Ajay Mehta 007, you need to improve your knowledge about how Wikipedia's category system works. When a child category is present, the parent category is not included except for certain ones marked as non-diffusing. Indian Civil Servants are not a non-diffusing category. As you said, something beyond your knowledge doesn't mean it's wrong. So learn. Improve your knowledge. Clear?
You may want to think about spending 30 seconds looking on Wikipedia for how something works, like, I don't know, maybe looking at WP:CATEGORY and learning. Or maybe asking why something was done, not blast through out of control making wild assumptions that are completely wrong. Like you did here. Ravensfire (talk) 04:33, 21 April 2021 (UTC)

Ok, I got it. And I am not blasting. Don't assume it as blasting at all. I am just discussing. And as your wish, I admire that. You are right about that it is a kind of sub-catogery. As it is about wiki policy n all. If it's about category than, Why in page Narendra Modi you(whoever the editor for that page not specifically you,as I hope they also work with wiki policy of catogery etc.) are mentioning him in his categories section as Prime Minister of India, along with that also an Member of Parliament (India). As it is a sub-catogery. Because one can be a full time prime minister if he is a member of parliament. It's not only abo that page. It is like everywhere (many pages). And Sir, I am not blasting 😁😁😀😋😃Thanks. Aj Ajay Mehta 007 (talk) 04:54, 21 April 2021 (UTC)

Aj Ajay Mehta 007, Yu obviously didn't bother to read the page I linked then, did you? Please, read it - navigate around in the categories of Modi's article. The parent-child relationship is how the CATEGORY is setup. That's it. Not how I believe they work, how you believe it should be setup or anyone else for that matter. If you look at the category for prime ministers of India, you'll see the parents of that category include Political Officeholders of India. So you wouldn't see that category on his page. But the PM category isn't a child or parent of any Member of Parliament related category. Having both of them is valid - and if a person was a legislator of India at one time and later the PM of India, they should be in both categories, as those are both defining characteristics. Here's something to think about, when you see something done in lots of pages (categories), maybe that's the correct way to use categories. Ravensfire (talk) 05:07, 21 April 2021 (UTC)

i've added every quote directly about natural rights and the equality that all people are born into according to the united states declaration of independence. have i improved it enough? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.196.126.78 (talk) 00:12, 22 April 2021 (UTC)
It's still what's called WP:SYNTH. You're taking some pieces of information and using them to create your own conclusions and opinions from those facts. That's not allowed on Wikipedia - it needs to be a reliable source (think legal scholar or law journal) that draws those conclusions - not you the editor. Your view is a good topic for a blog post, not good for Wikipedia. Ravensfire (talk) 00:16, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

but i'm not adding in any conclusions. i'm trying to get the actual quotes from the actual document into the page. i don't care how it's worded. if you can word it better, then do so. also, i've mentioned several times that lafayette is declared a natural born citizen not by birth or parentage. this is just a fact. it is not a conclusion. it is decided by the assembly. they all state these things themselves. i'm not trying to go out on a limb here. if you grew up in another country, then this might be need extra consideration. the same is true if you were taught to quickly on the subject by a teacher or if the subject was misled. but i'm showing you the actual quotes and i don't wish to add anything novel or new. i'm literally showing what was written. what was said about natural born citizens. lafayette. the natural rights we have. not being bound by governments according to birth. that's the entire thesis of the united states of america in a nutshell. i just would like it on the page somehow to stop all that foreign nonsense that people are taught about being born without the freedom of their own nationality when they talk about the united states. it's fine if it's another country, but the united states has scripture available.

Sigh. The DoI says XYZ, therefore - and now you're into your interpretation and conclusion. One that's not followed by established law and precedent. Yes, your interpretation of what those clauses in the DoI mean is novel and new. No, it won't be added to Wikipedia because of all the reasons you've been told already. Ravensfire (talk) 01:14, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

i'm not asking about xyz. i'm asking what the conclusion is and what the quote says. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.196.126.78 (talk) 01:24, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

Hi Ravensfire, do you mind taking a look at this article? The article is pending changes protected and I just reverted a substantial amount of content added today by an IP and a registered account, mostly adding list of Miqaats, which had been accepted by a couple other editors. I noticed in the history you previously reverted similar additions noting a sock. I may have stepped over a line here so would like another opinion. S0091 (talk) 21:55, 23 April 2021 (UTC)

S0091, that's a good revert that you did. Aside from the socking (and that account may be the newest iteration, I'll have to check), there's a fair amount of editing from adherents (which include Showbiz826 socks), and they are adding way, way too much detail, often without good sources. The Miqaats list is, to me, one such thing. Mostly unsourced, or the sources are tied to the religion and amazing amounts of detail. I've also added a new report to Showbiz826 spi case for the editor. Ravensfire (talk) 21:58, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
Thank you! I worried because the edits were accepted thus my revert may be construed as stepping on other editor's toes but the edits just did not "smell" right to me and certainly were largely unsourced. Having some context around the issues is helpful. Thanks again. S0091 (talk) 22:12, 23 April 2021 (UTC)

NEONN123 and Vyom420

Hi Both accounts look like operated by same person or am I overthinking. [1] [2]. Sid95Q (talk) 00:29, 1 May 2021 (UTC)

Sid95Q, it's possible, I didn't look to hard, but right now there's no violation of WP:SOCK as Vyom420 stopped editing on March 31 and Neonn started a couple of weeks later. There's no overlap, and there aren't any active sanctions on Vyom. A bunch of warnings, yes, but I think NEONN has caught up pretty well. I wouldn't stress to much about it - gauge NEONN based on their edits (which are definitely problematic on their own). Ravensfire (talk) 14:32, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
Now they have started moving pages like this Sony Smile. I think it's time to report them to admins. Sid95Q (talk) 08:03, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
@Sid95Q: forgot to followup on this, I did report them to ANI a few days ago and they were blocked for 31 hours. They haven't edited since and I can't see a new editor that I think 100% is them (possible on an IP, but not enough). If they return and continue to add unsourced, WP:AIV for obvious stuff, ANI for more involved. Ravensfire (talk) 15:59, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
Ravensfire, Coming back to this conversation, both Vyom420 and NEONN123 are adding unsourced materials and creating unsourced articles. Though they are referenced with a source, TellyChakkar isn't a reliable source as per WP:ICTFSOURCES. What I mean is that both might use an unreliable source. So my thought is that Neonn might be a sockpuppet of Vyom. We are the Great (talk) 15:36, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
We are the Great, well, it's not really a WP:SOCK that I can see. Vyom420 stopped editing and NEONN123 started. There weren't any active sanctions that I could find on Vyom420. You could argue they were trying to escape scrutiny from all of the warnings, but NEONN123 caught up pretty quickly and at this point, they'll be blocked on their own if they continue to add unsourced material (and have been blocked once for it). Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised either way, but to me, it's not worth the time./effort to put together a good SPI. Just saying they add unsourced given the area they edit isn't enough as it's WAY too common. Similar name patterns, yes, but you'd need to show good overlap in articles and ideally, very similar edits. Ravensfire (talk) 15:57, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
Ravensfire, well, their edits looked very similar to me, so I figured that Neonn could be a sockpuppet of Vyom in my opinion. But since you say that there isn't any overlap, and you didn't find any sanctions on Vyom, you might be right. Just saying. One more thing, both of the accounts don't reply very much. We are the Great (talk) 16:10, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
Ravensfire, Coming back to this conversation again, there is another user BDSAH221, that I'm sure you warned him for his disruptive edits on Indian television articles, and like Vyom420 and NEONN123, he also uses TellyChakkar. Please do NOT tell me that he is NOT a sockpuppet of Vyom420. My goodness, what is happening here? Why users are using unreliable sources like TellyChakkar to support their edits on upcoming shows? Is this because they think that only these sources can support their edits? We are the Great (talk) 16:27, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

@We are the Great: Well this just made things easy. BDSAH221 is currently blocked, and I was already working on an SPI for BADBOY121. This just makes it easier. I don't *think* Neonn123 is part of this, but not sure. I'm going to ask for a CU check on the SPI which should check. Thanks for poking me on this! Ravensfire (talk) 14:32, 8 June 2021 (UTC)

@We are the Great and Sid95Q: In what I'm sure will be a shock to everyone, see the results at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/BDSAH221. I'm sure we'll see some more socks, just add 'em to the SPI. Ravensfire (talk) 12:24, 9 June 2021 (UTC)

@MR ANONYMOUS 1221: You've ignored so many warnings across your previous accounts without changing your editing behavior at all. Why would anyone believe that this would change. You're also making the problem worse - you're still WP:EVADE the block. That's not acceptable. You, the person behind the account, are blocked from editing Wikipedia. You need to get unblocked on your original account and stop creating new accounts. Given you've continued socking, the Standard Offer is probably your only option at this point. That means 6 months of NO EDITING on the English Wikipedia. Not even with an IP. Just creating new accounts over and over is not acceptable. Ravensfire (talk) 13:35, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
And looking at the article edits you've made with your new account, the SAME PROBLEM continues that you've been warned about over and over and over. In other words, you haven't learned anything and probably you haven't bothered to really read any of the warnings you've been gotten. So all of this advice is very probably useless as you won't change because you don't want to change, you want to do your thing, your way and everyone else be damned. Sir this article is stub , we are try to get more sources , till that we have this much of source, please consider it once. Syedaadi (talk) 21:02, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

Syedaadi, two issue with the edit you are reverting. First, don't use bad sources on Wikipedia when you've been told they are bad. Leave the information out if you don't have a good source. Second, adding material not supported by the edit is not good, especially when it's been removed once for that reason. Ravensfire (talk) 23:27, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

Thank you so much sir Syedaadi (talk) 19:06, 6 May 2021 (UTC)

corrections

Why do you keep kicking out my corrections? They are not promotional or whitewashing. They are factual.

The statement: "In the early 1990s, it put together Essex Property Trust, also controlled by George M. Marcus.[6][4][7]" is an inaccurate misrepresentation. George Marcus is the founder of Marcus & Millichap (based in Calabasas, CA) and he is the founder of Essex Property Trust based in Palo Alto, CA. The companies are not affiliated. you can refer to many sources including the wiki page that discusses Essex Property Trust here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_M._Marcus. Likely sock accounts

Hello Ravensfire. How are you doing?

Would you please keep an eye on sock accounts of Prince Of Roblox (SPI case page) like Kunal Kemmu Wiki. They are typically suffixed wiki or fan who erroneously add boldface, overlinks and unsourced DOBs/children name. Mostly throw away accounts and a new one pops every other day. Thanks -- Ab207 (talk) 12:50, 8 May 2021 (UTC)

Ab207, on throwaway accounts like that, it's almost not worth the energy on creating WP:SPI, just revert 'em with an edit summary that this is a likely sock of XYZ and go from there. If you see the same article being edited often by the socks, ask for semi-protection. Annoying, but it's about all we can do. Ravensfire (talk) 15:12, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
Yeah, I think that's the best way we can handle them. Thanks for the input! -- Ab207 (talk) 15:16, 8 May 2021 (UTC)

Star Vijay Music

Hi, few days back, I have added a page for Star Vijay Music channel. But, don't know why page has been removed quickly. Although I had added proper sources, even shared all evidences. Despite of that, page has been removed. Why? Kindly help me to restore the page & ensure me the stability of that page. Thank you DreamTeamzz (talk) 20:08, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

Not only removed, page has been redirected with Star Vijay page, although both are different channels. Kindly help. DreamTeamzz (talk) 20:10, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

It's very possible that there isn't sufficient notability on its own. The article need to include sufficient sources with significant coverage that focus in the article subject. So a mention of Stay Vijay Music in a source about a release doesn't meet that standard. Ravensfire (talk) 02:26, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
Having read the comments in the edit history, the article was deleted after a discussion. You cannot arbitrarily recreate it when there is a consensus that it is not an independently notable subject. Ravensfire (talk) 02:30, 10 May 2021 (UTC)

Luckstar23, yeah, you did like about it. It wasn't an accident. Yes, you are new to uploading photos so when someone points out a mistake, accept it, apologize and move on. Doubling-down like this won't help. Given your history of both edit-warring and copyright violations, you should expect scrutiny from others. As you said, get over it. Sam.Johnanderson, honestly, that's incorrect. You did finally start discussions, but not after multiple reverts across multiple pages. You haven't crossed the 3RR line like they did, but both you are handling this poorly. This stuff happens all of the time, but it is never fixed by reverting over and over. Some of the images they preferred were better than what you wanted, other times the opposite was true. Calm discussion that doesn't point fingers will always get better results. Hi, I found here many fake pages are existed in Wikipedia, which pages are totally untouched. But, after creating a authentic page with providing sources, many pages have been removed from here. What is this?

As a example, yesterday I had created a authentic page for ABP Nadu, which was removed, but few fake pages like ABP Gujarati, Zee Nepal, Zee 24 Hours Business and many more, which has no existence ever, are still present here.

Well done and Keep it up. (DreamTeamzz (talk) 03:21, 18 May 2021 (UTC))

@DreamTeamzz: Ignoring a consensus decision and declaring yourself far more important than others is, frankly, rather dumb. Pulling out the "Fake pages" canard is even worse. You've got a very simple road forward to get an article that was deleted published - Use. The. Draft. Space. Consensus can, and does change, but ignoring consensus is just not smart. Wikipedia works, and can ONLY work, on a consensus model. Think about it - if there was a consensus about something that you agree with, you'd be quite unhappy if another editor ignored that, substituting their personal view over everyone else's. Think about it. Ravensfire (talk) 03:34, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

Mehazabien Chowdhury had a tag saying no sources .... but it has. Do you know anything about this? Victuallers (talk) 12:16, 20 May 2021 (UTC)

Apparently I clicked on the wrong tag - it should have been BLP Sources which notes that more sources are needed for the article. Most of the awards are unsourced, there is a HUGE filmography, which is mostly not covered in the article and has no sources. Several statements in the career section need sources as well. Asianet Plus Have no article page

Hello, Asianet plus is a Malayalam TV channel it had no Article Page. Please Create a Article "Asianet Plus". Thanks, EditzIndia (talk) 17:20, 29 May 2021 (UTC)

@EditzIndia:, You can see that it had a page, but lack of references and notability is why it's now a redirect. My suggestion would be to start a draft article (just click here) and create it with enough secondary sources that when it's reviewed, it will get created. Ravensfire (talk) 17:31, 29 May 2021 (UTC)

I am New To Wikipedia. Please Create Asianet Plus Yourself. EditzIndia (talk) 19:02, 29 May 2021 (UTC)

@EditzIndia: that's not an area where I have enough interest to create an article. Again, use the draft space, wait for reviews and improve it from there. Ravensfire (talk) 14:32, 30 May 2021 (UTC)

Why did you delete my new article EditzIndia (talk) 15:11, 31 May 2021 (UTC)

Why? THERE WERE NO SOURCES. You CANNOT create articles like that on Wikipedia. I couldn't move it to draft because you did the SAME THING before and didn't learn. You need to stop doing things like this, it's disruptive. Ravensfire (talk) 15:12, 31 May 2021 (UTC)

Ravensfire.... 🙏🙏Don't delete my edits

Why are you deleting my edits about the dubbing information on Radha Krishna..... What is the harm if I provide the dubbing information..... Every time I edit....... You always delete them...... I beg literally begging before you.....🙏🙏🙏🙏 Not to unnecessarily delete my edits.....and Kumaresh is the upcoming series..... Why are you deleting that too..... Pls stop your foolish activities....Pls don't delete the dubbing information..... I beg before you.....🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Fjjsb5161 (talk) 15:24, 1 June 2021 (UTC)

Not one of your edits have been unnecessarily undone. Nothing is "foolishly" done, please stop with that nonsense. When you add information that isn't sourced, is trivia or is disruptive, it will be removed. Wikipedia has standards for what should be in articles. Look at the cast list - it's absolutely HUGE. The article becomes very difficult to read, hard to find information and that's not what an encyclopedia article is about. It's a summary of the topic - highlight what's important. Go read WP:TVCAST, seriously. Ravensfire (talk) 15:34, 1 June 2021 (UTC)

I am highlighting the dubbing information of Radha Krishna(Sta Jalsha)..... What is the harm in that.... Just 3 words are there..... You are acting like what essay I have written..... Come on.... If I write the actual production name..... Then why can't I add just 3 words dubbing production name. Fjjsb5161 (talk) 04:55, 9 June 2021 (UTC)

How can we know the source is helpful or not before adding? Krishnajipandey (talk) 02:05, 24 June 2021 (UTC)

First, please either create a new section at the bottom of the page or reply in the existing section if continuing a discussion. Don't add to a random section, that's hard to follow. Second, specific to your draft, adding topic / search pages does not help, especially when none of the more recent results mention the person, just someone with the same surname. You keep adding random pages that you find from a google search, but you aren't looking to see if they are a reliable source. Most importantly, NONE of them have significant coverage of Pandey. Just a brief mention at best. Right now, there's no way this article passes WP:NACTOR. Wikipedia doesn't post vanity pages for you. Ravensfire (talk) 12:43, 24 June 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions towards the article Deewana (1992 film). But please do not remove each and every information by providing unnecessary reasons. I'm working hard to collect and gather information regarding it, and you are just removing all in a matter of seconds. That's disappointed. The ones you removed just now are required in the article as a support of what is being told. I'm reverting your edits and please do not do it back. I'm literally begging you. Let it be as it is.

@Sahajitbro: As I said in my edit summary - what was removed were NOT movie reviews. And that's the section they were in. Need Help

Hello @Ravensfire. I need some help from you. We both are working for the betterment of the article Deewana (1992 film). So I would like to request you to assist me in finding some suitable websites from the web archive in order to expand and enhance the Critical Reception part of the article. Looking forward for your participation. - @Sahajitbro Sahajitbro (talk) 06:23, 28 June 2021 (UTC)

I'll be glad to see what I can find. Obviously, it's a challenge with older films. This is when it would be nice for newspapers to make their significantly older archives available online without subscription. Older films in the US run into similar issues around this though. Something to consider is that next year would be the 30 year anniversary, hopefully there will be some really good restrospective articles (not the typical puff pieces though, gah) coming out that will help expand the legacy section. Ravensfire (talk) 16:22, 28 June 2021 (UTC)

How can I use references from books? Can you help me with this issue? Sahajitbro (talk) 17:02, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

It's pretty easy, just a different template. Depending on how you are editing, there are tools that can make it easier. If you're using the main site, not in mobile mode, the Visual Editor has a Cite button that will walk you through the process. There are a couple of options for the text editor you can enable in preferences (WikiEd). If you're using the mobil editor, you'll need to use the cite book template. There are some more sophisticated templates out there, but ignore those for now. Something to keep in mind, like websites, books are not automatically reliable sources. At a minimum, they need to come from a reputable publisher, not self-published (sometimes called a vanity publisher). I usually do a search on Wikipedia for the publisher, and if needed an online search to check this first. The Wikipedia:Citing_sources#Books page gives some advice on how to use the cite book template. Please make sure you include the page number(s) if possible - it's REALLY appreciated! Imagine trying to find a single paragraph in a book that's over 100 pages long to double-check something ... Not much fun! If you've got questions about a specific book, ask on the article talk page, here, the WP:TEAHOUSE or the reliable source noticeboard. You can also always ask at the India Cinema Task Force, a great resource with other editors interested in India film and television related articles! Ravensfire (talk) 17:27, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
@Sahajitbro: I'm starting to go through the article now. Something I noticed pretty quickly, the review section is pretty heavily focused on Bharti. There needs to be more of a mention of the review of the film overall, and then add specific callouts if significant in the review. The article is about the film, not Bharti. I also removed the Tilak Rishi book as a source - Trafford Publishing is a vanity press that allows authors to self-publish. As I mentioned, those are considered self-published sources and not reliable. There's also some POV language and WP:PUFFERY - "lucrative" and "immensely popular" - this isn't a trade magazine or blog piece, it's an encyclopedia. The soundtrack reviews are focused on a couple of songs with no mention of the overall impressions - same issues as above. Ravensfire (talk) 17:08, 6 July 2021 (UTC)

Request to check the offical citations before removing any information.

Hello Sir. I wanted to request you in regards of your recent deletion of information from Avneet Kaur's wikipedia page. I had posted information regarding Kaur's Awards and Nominations. You have removed almost all the information stating that they were non-notable awards but just because they didn't had any links attached with the award name doesn't mean they aren't true. You could check the citations I had provided. All those citations were completely true and offical. You cannot just remove true information from any person's page without checking it once through their citation. I kindly, respectfully and humbly request you to please check once again and undo your deletion of Awards and Nominations category of Avneet Kaur. Thank you. Manalijain (talk) 07:33, 2 July 2021 (UTC)

I didn't remove them because of no sources, I removed them because they are minor, non-notable awards that lack a Wikipedia article. That's a normal process, Wikipedia isn't a fan page where every minor detail gets included. Ravensfire (talk) 12:12, 2 July 2021 (UTC)

Sir, ofcourse I know Wikipedia isn't a fanpage. And that's what I'm trying to tell you that the information regarding awards were not minor but major, important, true awards. I kindly request you to check the citations [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] and undo your deletion or allow me to add the information again. Thank you. Manalijain (talk) 04:49, 4 July 2021 (UTC)

Manalijain, again, notable awards for Wikipedia are generally determined by there being an article. It's not for a lack of citiation that it was removed, it's that we don't list every single vanity/novelty/minor award every given. Ravensfire (talk) 13:03, 4 July 2021 (UTC)

Ravensfire Alright then, thanks for clarification. Manalijain (talk) 13:21, 4 July 2021 (UTC)

Ravensfire So not in the awards category but can I mention these presented awards or titles of Kaur in the Media category of her wiki page? I would like to ask you prior adding up the information so that later, it shouldn't get removed like it was done previously. Manalijain (talk) 06:29, 6 July 2021 (UTC)

Manalijain, minor awards really shouldn't be mentioned anywhere. There's a couple of reasons for this. The big one is that adding lots of minor awards significantly lessens the impact of major awards. There are also a proliferation of awards from just about every group/organization/random websites that are really there to get publicity for the group making the award. Not much is known about the people behind the award, the criteria, etc. There was a RFC about this a few years back - [9]. No firm rule was given, but the close noted a strong preference /defacto consensus to avoid an indiscriminate list that exists just to bloat the number of awards listed. Here's a couple of discussions that may also be helpful to read - [10], [11], [12]
For example, see List of awards and nominations received by Laurence Olivier which is featured list. Olivier has received countless minor awards from small festivals, groups, etc, but you don't see those listed. You see notable award where the association is linked or (in a few cases) the actual award itself is linked, meaning they have an article on Wikipedia. That's the goal to strive for - remember Wikipedia articles are a summary of the major aspects of the subject and need to avoid having too much detail of minor points.
Summary, I wouldn't recomment including non-notable awards. If you're strongly leaning towards including them, I would start a discussion on WT:ICTF and seek consensus there. Ravensfire (talk) 16:34, 6 July 2021 (UTC)

Alright Ravensfire got it, thanks for the brief explanation and clarification! Manalijain (talk) 07:04, 7 July 2021 (UTC)

Deletation of ABZY Movies

Hey, why are you deleting my article named ABZY Movies on wikipedia. Please do not delete this article I beg you please🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 do not delete this article and I beg you 🙇🙇🙇🙇 Leofrancis355 (talk) 01:19, 4 July 2021 (UTC) Leofrancis355 (talk) 01:20, 4 July 2021 (UTC)

Articles on Wikipedia need to be notable which needs to be evidenced by having multiple sources with significant coverage of the subject. The articles you created don't even come close and rather than go through the draft process you pushed them to main article space. Hence the request for deletion. Siddharth Nigam is a professional Gymnast please don't remove the profession gymnast as his occupation He is an professional actor , gymnast & dancer Kishmish Hu Main Ok (talk) 03:13, 8 July 2021 (UTC)

Kishmish Hu Main Ok, a professional gymnast is one who's actively competing in professional level competitions or shows. That's not met by the sources. Ravensfire (talk) 15:00, 8 July 2021 (UTC)

Wanted you to check a few sources.

Hello! I wanted you to check these few sources [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] and let me know that whether I could add them to Avneet Kaur's wikipedia page - media section. Kindly do tell me which ones from these 6 I could add which ones I can't (if any). Thank you. Manalijain (talk) 12:49, 8 July 2021 (UTC)

Manalijain, tell you what, let's start with you telling me how those sources meet the Reliable Source criteria. Start with 3 and 6. Ravensfire (talk) 15:02, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
Alright Ravensfire, so according to me:
3rd source leads to the official website of SutraHR and then when clicked on the March 23, 2018 article visible there, it leads to the full list of achievers. The 3rd and 4th one are connected sources. (Also if you want, then I could not use this 3rd one but use the 4th source instead)
6th source is by India Forums which is one of the biggect medium of latest film and television industry updates. Though in this article of India Forums, I agree there isn't much information given, but there's only the headline & the offical post by the actress. But it is a published source. I also have an alternative source for this one- [7]
@Manalijain: So let's talk more about IndiaForums. Did you really read the WP:RS page? I'm questioning if you did, because in the self-published source section is this "...posts on Internet forums are all examples of self-published media" Your "source" is a forum post. Absolutely not reliable! The third source it's even a source at all - it's a search. Not a specific source that a reader could actually verify something. That's not good. On top of that, the website itself is basically a blog with nothing to show ANY editorial control. It's a blog for an HR company. Are you starting to understand why I want you to actually read that Reliable Source page? Why so many of your sources are being rejected? You aren't putting any effort into vetting them, despite some pretty direct pointers. You are using any source that hits on a search. That's discouraging from my standpoint, because you aren't putting in the effort to verify sources. Ravensfire (talk) 21:22, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
Oh, okay okay! Ravensfire That's the reason that to verify the sources or get any opinion on them, I am mentioning them on many editors' talk page and on wikipedia tea-house too. Alright then, I got it about 3rd and 6th source, won't use them then.
Also, can you confirm about the rest mentioned sources, please? Manalijain (talk) 02:26, 10 July 2021 (UTC)

Question from a spammer

reason for removing Dhadak link? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sukralia (talkcontribs) 19:02, July 23, 2021 (UTC)

@Sukralia: Obviously because you were spamming a link to a non-notable, junk website. Wikipedia is the wrong place to promote a website link that. Most of your edits have been to spam poor quality sites - that's not tolerated and a good way for you to end up blocked from editing and /or the website put on the spam black list which WILL stop you or anyone else from adding links to that site. Just stop. Ravensfire (talk) 02:08, 24 July 2021 (UTC)

EditWiki45, You've been using unreliable sources and not starting any discussions yourself . WP:BRD is the normal cycle - Boldly make a change, but if it's Reverted, start a Discussion. That's where you need to start discussions, not demanding others do as you want. Not helpful. As I said in my edit summary, you are using unreliable sources. You cannot just use any website you find on-line, stick with high quality news sources. Starsunfolded (and similar junk sites like wikibio and celebrityborn) are NOT good sources for Wikipedia - they scrape from who knows where, including from Wikipedia itself. Don't use those. IMDB is also not a good sources, it's user-generated material that may or may not be vetted, we don't have any way to know. See WP:CITEIMDB. Ravensfire (talk) 15:45, 26 July 2021 (UTC)

Dev joshi fan, for someone that's alive, images used on Wikipedia need to have been released under an acceptable free license or in the public domain - see WP:IUPC. Just about every image you find online (facebook, instagram, twitter and just about every other website out there) is copyrighted and does not have a compatible license. Suniel Shetty Edits

Hello, I want to tell you that the photo of Shetty was not applicable to be on his main page. So, I made those edits. Please tell me that why you reverted my edits. (If you don't mind, I am reverting your edit again). Thank You! - WARSH KUMAR — Preceding unsigned comment added by Warsh Kumar (talkcontribs) 09:25, August 1, 2021 (UTC)

@Warsh Kumar: as I said, parts of your edits are contrary to Wikipedia standards. you've been told that before on your talk page and have ignored them. Please don't ask other editors to clean up after you. if you continue the same issues, your edits will continue to be reverted. Ravensfire (talk) 14:34, 1 August 2021 (UTC)

Roshni Kaur confusion

Conversation with a KS sock
The following discussion has been closed. Please do not modify it.

Hi User:Ravensfire I want to tell you is that I am not editing on Wikipedia anymore and the person who has been editing on pages and reverting fan cruft on Bigg Boss articles and Divyanka Tripathi is User:Princepratap1234. He made this account for me which I never wanted in the first place. I don’t want to come here anymore and have moved on. Also he has some enmity with me so that’s why he is doing this. He also knows everything about me which is wrong he knows my address my house number and all private information so please block him as he is the one behind this also he did the same with the Preety account.

also he uses ip users as well which the location is Lucknow Uttar Pradeah while he has an account.

He also has vandalised Sanaya Irani page check here [13] and there is another one as well check the history and block as he is been doing these edits in those accounts to frame me. I hope all is clear now and I don’t care if it gets blocked but only want is you to block the user Prince as he is behind all this.

His name is User:Princepratap1234 also If you didnt notice in the Roshni user name he added my name and my address [14]

User:Ravensfire please see this as it’s important as this user has been framing me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2a01:4c8:61:55dc:acdf:8c9d:7e17:1a56 (talkcontribs) 09:10, August 3, 2021 (UTC)

Accusations for no reasons, first you are violating Wikipedia policies and kept vandalising Wikipedia , creating new accounts and have Been blocked Many times.

Princepratap1234 (talk) 14:30, 3 August 2021 (UTC)

Stop lying again and again. You have been using theses accounts I don’t even go on here anymore. Stop lying. Why would I add my address here tell me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2a01:4c8:52:acd6:8ca2:1664:32d8:acb2 (talk) 09:32, August 3, 2021 (UTC)

To the IP: Uh huh ... sure. I find that exceptionally hard to believe. Let's look at that example - that's not vandalism, that's good editing. Unless, of course, you like to add fancruft to articles, which you do. This isn't the first time you've tried nonsense like this, please just stop. It's quite sad, really.
Princepratap1234: my advice is just WP:RBI (just the revert and ignore, obviously!) and not give KS any attention. Ravensfire (talk) 14:34, 3 August 2021 (UTC)

User:Ravensfire honestly I am really a good person in real life but you guys especially you and Prince have made me into someone I am not and Prince has been harrassing me out of Wikipedia since March and search everything about me. My name my address and even my house how it looks like. So I know I am banned from here but he does not deserve to be here either as he is doing this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2a01:4c8:52:acd6:8ca2:1664:32d8:acb2 (talk) 09:40, August 3, 2021 (UTC)

Two big things to note - First, I'm not an admin here, so I can't do anything that you want. Second, this is outside of Wikipedia's purview. Finally, I find it highly unlike that Priceratap1234 is behind what is happening. They don't seem like that kind of person to stoop to petty insults. You've been pushing fancruft and your personal preferences for quite some time on Wikipedia, deliberately breaking policies, guidelines and the core terms of service because you've put your views above everyone else's. And you've been caught, reverted, caught again and again, reverted again and again, ranted at editors that have caught you, belittled editors and generally been a fairly unpleasant person. Think on that, would you? If there are actions ON WIKIPEDIA that do have you genuinely concerned for safety, you can reach out to WP:ARBCOM or WP:SAFETY, but you need substantially more evidence that what you've given here. Ravensfire (talk) 14:49, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
First let me tell you is you don’t know me personally so you don’t have the right to say if I am a bad person or not. I am a good person in real life. Prince is behind all this because I am not talking to me at all. He keeps harrassing me and he is behind everything just because I reverted his edits last year which was vandalism. He has found everything about me and my private life my address and even my number where I never shared I will come back with proof he is not a good person at all.
Also you and Prince and generally Wikipedia have made me into someone I am not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2a01:4c8:52:acd6:dc17:96d6:3f15:8cad (talk) 09:58, August 3, 2021 (UTC)
You are correct, I don't know you in person. I know you by your interactions here on Wikipedia. And frankly, it's a very poor and selfish impression that you've left on other editors here. You'll do anything you have to do to get your way, and that's not good on a project that requires collaboration. So who should I trust? An editor that's been highly productive, works with others and doesn't play games? Or the one that lies, creates sock after sock after sock, that won't work with others? This conversation is over. I've given you a couple of link to push your nonsense, but be assured they will not blindly accept what you've claimed and the paltry "evidence" you've given here is far from what they would need. To make Anupama a semi protected page like earlier

Hey can you make Anupama a semi protected page again? Which can be edited by only verified account holders like us. Because past some days some anonymous users are cooking up their own story which can't be possible. Like Samar's character assassination, Anupamaa's character assassination etc. So to protect this page from anonymous users can you make it semi-protected like earlier. And only verified account holders like us will be able to edit it Pra2310 (talk) 04:54, 4 August 2021 (UTC)

Pra2310, you can request page protection at WP:RFPP. I am not an admin so I can't help you there. Also, nplease look at condensing the plot. It is way, way, WAY too detailed and long right now. It should be no more than 500 words or so. Ravensfire (talk) 11:29, 4 August 2021 (UTC)

Yes. I'll consider to shorten it. But the drama is becoming so high in recent episodes specially each and every character's equation with each other that it's necessary to explain it in detail. The ardent follwers of show knows that there are only 3 people who'll not leave Protagonist. These are 2nd leads Samar, Nandini and Kinjal(the 3rd lead). And some unauthorised users were making their own cooked up stories. From now on I'll update the plot after 7-10 episodes to shorten it. And thanks for suggesting me to make a request for Semi-protection of page. I allready did it. Please can you also make a request. As I'm also a new user to wiki and I made an account back in mid june, 2021. Because I'm a big fan of TMKOC also Pra2310 (talk) 12:54, 4 August 2021 (UTC)

Pra2310, honestly, from a FAN perspective, the detail is needed, but remember this is a encyclopedia article with a summary of the show - the high points only. Look at the bit you just added - over 150 words!?!? Don't think of summarizing it episode by episode, but summarizing the major plot lines only. You CANNOT keep adding this level of detail over and over, it will be reverted. The level of detail you want is appropriate for a fan wiki, but no Wikipedia. IMDB

can we add IMDb link of an actor in External link section.Princepratap1234 (talk) 14:55, 4 August 2021 (UTC)

Princepratap1234, generally, yes, that's pretty common on the actor's page. It's using IMDB as a source that's problematic. What page? Ravensfire (talk) 14:58, 4 August 2021 (UTC)
No , only in external link section and thanks for the help.Princepratap1234 (talk) 15:01, 4 August 2021 (UTC)

Hello! After your brief discussion on my talk page regarding the external links precisely IMDb links; I would like to know about the other external links which can be considered into the External Links section of the article. And are social media links including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube considered into external links? ManaliJain (talk) 09:30, 5 August 2021 (UTC)

ManaliJain, please read WP:NOSOCIAL. Ravensfire (talk) 11:19, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
Okay, and what about YouTube? I want to know about using YouTube links as a source as well as using YouTube links in external links section. Are both of the options or anyone of the options allowed? ManaliJain (talk) 12:01, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
ManaliJain, it's going to depend. WP:YOUTUBE talks about using Youtube as a source. As with most sources, the answer is "it depends". Using a video to source that it exists? That's a primary source, and if nothing else has noticed it, it's probably not notable. News videos from an official channel can be good sources. Random videos? Not so much. As for external links, see WP:YOUTUBE-EL. Again, ELMINOFFICIAL and NOSOCIAL are going to restrict what goes into the External links section. I can't give you a blanket statement, like many things on Wikipedia, it's going to be situational. Wikipedia is not a place to promote a person's social media feeds, always keep that in mind. Ravensfire (talk) 12:06, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
Alright, thank you for the clarification! ManaliJain (talk) 12:31, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
Hey @Ravensfire:, I also wanted to know about Bollywood Hungama being used in the external link section? Here on WP:EL/P, I didn't find any mentions about Bollywood Hungama. Is it allowed or it's optional too? ManaliJain (talk) 13:58, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
You'll see it added on some articles, but it's not as common as IMDB. I personally wouldn't be adding it to articles when there's a good IMDB page available. Wikipedia is not a directory of links. Ravensfire (talk) 14:09, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
Okay, thanks! ManaliJain (talk) 14:32, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

Need to stop

Hi I am User: Cactinites this user User:Ruhanika457 is doing edits that are not allowed here see this [ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1037909931] in this edit this user is removing a reliable source which is not allowed here. Also see this [ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1038093948] in this edit this user is removing a whole section which is necessary for Wikipedia biographies. Please stop this user from doing this type of edits. Cactinites (talk) 05:08, 11 August 2021 (UTC)

@Cactinites: I'm going to assume you've tried to ask them either on the article talk page (preferred!) or their talk page, as that's always the first step in dispute resolution. You have, right? That said, the refs are probably useful, but could be better placed. For example, the first one is after the "and"? Do it doesn't support the first clause? On the second - Wikipedia really isn't some gossip tabloid. Personally, I despise the "XYZ is dating PDQ" in the articles. It's pure tabloid crap. Again though, you need to ask the editor, politely. Ravensfire (talk) 01:14, 12 August 2021 (UTC)

Providence religious movement article

Hello Ravensfire, hope you are well

On your recent reversion of my edits on the Providence page, you cited Wikipedia's dead link policy.

I understand why you cited it, however as I am sure you know in the BLP policy material that is contentious and potentially libelous to a living person must be cited strongly.

The claim on the page about the salvation in Providence is not actually supported by these sources, and in his article Sakurai himself says that he only has a feeling this could be the Providence teaching, but that it is impossible to know because the doctrines are not published/ public knowledge.

I could not find replacement sources. I assume good faith here so wanted to message you GIOScali (talk) 00:14, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

Also I am sure you saw I reverted your edits, if you disagree I prefer we discuss it on the talk page with other editors

GIOScali (talk) 00:15, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

Please discuss on the article talk page. I will be reverting your edits again, please get consensus first. As you noted, this is a contentious article where you have a very specific POV that often has been contrary to Wikipedia policies. Also, note that archive links are perfectly acceptable and both links you removed as dead have working archive links. Come on, really? Ravensfire (talk) 16:13, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

Big Ganga is now Zee Ganga

Please change the article name from Big Ganga to Zee Ganga as channel has been rebranded as Zee Ganga recently. Authentic sources has been provided already in the article. Thank you! Koustav Chatterjee (talk) 15:45, 23 August 2021 (UTC)

@Koustav Chatterjee: I can't move the page either, with the redirect page there. Your easiest option is to follow the directions on WP:MOVE#How_to_move_a_page and make a request at Requested moves - Technical requests as this does appear to be a non-controversial page move. Hi User:Ravensfire I just wanted to say I am now realised that it’s no point coming over here. So I am leaving Wikipedia for good. Not coming back here again and never will be as it’s been affected my health. As they say health comes first. So please could you ask admins to delete and close my user name page in this user. Roshnikaur123 (talk) 10:07, 24 August 2021 (UTC)

@Roshnikaur123: I'm sorry to hear that. Perhaps not creating new accounts to evade previous blocks will help, and work on a different wikipedia for a while to demonstrate that you can address the multiple issues that lead to your original KaranSharma0445 ‎(well, really Sahib0921, right?) being blocked. Ravensfire (talk) 13:09, 24 August 2021 (UTC)

User:Ravensfire but please I don’t want to come back here please can you tell the admins as well this is me signing off after being here from 2014 to 2021.

Because they haven't done fake apologies and fake-leaving Wikipedia before... —  HELLKNOWZ   ▎TALK 20:52, 25 August 2021 (UTC)

Watchlist query

Hi Ravensfire. You recently moved Assim Al-Hakeem to draft space. I'm wondering if you'd know why that move is showing up in my watchlist? I don't recall ever contributing to that article, in mainspace or draft space, but I can see the moves from earlier today in my watchlist. No biggie, just curious. Regards, BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 10:55, 26 August 2021 (UTC)

@Bastun: That's interesting. My guess would be that since the draft has been deleted previously [15], and maybe you did something with that previous article/draft which is why it triggered on your watchlist. That's the only thing I could think would cause that to happen. Ravensfire (talk) 16:46, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
That sounds plausible, all right. Thanks! Regards, BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 09:17, 27 August 2021 (UTC)

In case a bot archives it before you see it...

Let me know if you have any concerns (too much collateral) with this rangeblock. Cheers, OhNoitsJamie Talk 17:23, 30 August 2021 (UTC)

That's perfect - I know the past month or two has been all from them. I made basically the same comment you just made on the SPI - Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Yeu_aga_maj. Sad part - if Wefffrrr had just discussed when I and a few others raised concerns about their edits several months ago, this probably wouldn't be needed. But they didn't, and didn't really change / deal with the issues, and so here we are. Thank you! Ravensfire (talk) 17:28, 30 August 2021 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi Ravensfire. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when using rollback:

 • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
 • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
 • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
 • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
 • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Mz7 (talk) 00:01, 1 September 2021 (UTC)

Why I am not allowed - KaranSharma0445 sock

Hi User:Ravensfire why do you hate me so much. When I first came in 2014 I didn’t know the rules as I was about 16 now I know what to do and not do why can’t I come on Wikipedia. In the past years i have never vandalised any page but making it better and you are not letting me do that. KevinLondon444 (talk) 08:16, 1 September 2021 (UTC)

Also so what if I am editing Indian reality shows it’s what I like why are you doing this KevinLondon444 (talk) 08:17, 1 September 2021 (UTC)

@KevinLondon444: Oooo, the rant! So let's start with the easy reason, shall we? The lies and deception. "Not coming back here again and never will be as it’s been affected my health", "this is not fake I am never coming back here. If you don’t believe me it’s not my problem you will see if I come back or not.", "User:RoySmith I will never come back here again. I am the Person so please block." Any of those sound familiar? You didn't even make it two hours before you created another account. There is absolutely ZERO trust left in you as an editor here. None. For the rest, you care zero about Wikipedia only that you get your way. You've been left multiple longer explanations - go read those. There's some really good reasons on the SPI page. WP:EVADE if you want the short, short, short version. We're done here. Ravensfire (talk) 12:19, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
Look Ravensfire you just don’t like me for no reason. You have made personal attacks before at me and have been very rude and abusive. Anyways I am not making a new account. Also to clarify I never lied about my health. In fact you and Hellknowz have made my health bad. That’s all. Also I never vandalised any page I have understood the rules etc fan cruft. I won’t be back for good because of you and Hellknowz. I don’t have any problem with you at all but it looks like you have a problem with me which is fine because I don’t want you to trust me because I don’t know any of you personally and don’t want to. So bye and signing off.— Preceding unsigned comment added by KevinLondon444 (talkcontribs) 07:45, September 1, 2021 (UTC)
Honestly, I don't care one way or the other about you. At worst, you're annoying. Personal attacks? Really? So, I've said you use socks. That's factually correct and not a personal attack. That you've lied and deceieved. That's factually correct and not a personal attack. That you add fancruft to articles. Factually correct and not a personal attack. Ignore community consensus when you don't like it. Factually correct and not a personal attack. There is poor behavior here, but you want to look in a mirror. And yes, I know you'll be back. The last time, you stayed away a whopping two hours! My expectations of your future actions have been set by your past behavior, and are quite, quite low. Ravensfire (talk) 13:02, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
Which SPI are we talking about here? -- RoySmith (talk) 15:06, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
@RoySmith: Whoops! Sorry for the accidental ping on that reply. This is Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/KaranSharma0445 again - they're complaining about the sock they created two hours after saying here (and in the SPI) that there were leaving Wikipedia was spotted, and once again saying they are leaving. Ravensfire (talk) 15:12, 1 September 2021 (UTC)

Is the maintenance tag needed in the article Crayon Shin-chan? If it is not needed, please remove it or give me permission to remove it. Zarif1511 (talk) 05:14, 2 September 2021 (UTC)

@Zarif1511: Honestly, I know very little about that article, having made only a few small edits in the past, all reverting editors that had also made poor edits on an article I watched. The tag was added fairly recently [16], you may consider asking on the article talk page and tagging that editor, but with a quick scan of the article, the International section has a lot of unsourced statements, so the tag is probably still warranted. Ravensfire (talk) 23:20, 2 September 2021 (UTC)

Re the Federal Reserve article

Re this:

"Please discuss this on the article talk page, but the POV nature of the edits are a cause for concern. There's a lot of WP:FRINGE views around Federal Reserve, several of which are hit in that short edit. Ravensfire (talk) 19:00, 2 September 2021 (UTC)"

How can I write this cordially: You've got a lot of nerve questioning my POV. There's nothing about my edits that were fringe. My edits were literally public domain knowledge. The Fed itself says it's an independent organization that's NOT part of the US Federal Government, but accountable to Congress. Similarly, it's public domain knowledge that the Fed is not a reserve of any kind since going off the gold standard.

You could have made your rejection civil but you chose not to. — Preceding unsigned comment added by {} (talk • contribs) 20:02, September 2, 2021 Wikiguy91311 (UTC)

Sorry you took it personally, but your edit had several issues where you either ignored what the sources said or flat out didn't have any support. If you'd like to discuss the edit, please start a discussion on the article talk page. Im bttowadch sock and i had created several abuse accounts in the past. But i edits without any account but you always revert it. @119.160.59.40: Why should any editor here waste their time dealing with someone that's been banned, repeatedly creates socks, copy-pastes text on a regular basis and usually includes WP:PUFFERY in the articles they create? That's the shitty logic. YOU are banned. You haven't bothered with any attempts to talk about the editing issues. Yeah, sometimes your edits are good. Sometimes. Look how many articles you've created after conning people into creating redirects have been put into draft space. Not good edits in other worse. Stop wasting OUR time. Ravensfire (talk) 14:38, 9 September 2021 (UTC)

Why did you revert all my edits?

Hi, sorry i just wanna ask? why can't i put Uttaran cast in table from? i saw that Saath Nibhaana Saathiya cast is using tables, so i was inspired to make a table for the Uttaran cast as well, thank you for you answer:)

Please read WP:TVCAST which describes how the cast section should look. Uttaran doesn't meet the criteria to use a table. Ravensfire (talk) 12:33, 11 September 2021 (UTC)

Spam related.

hello, sir I don't know you. But want to left a message. I don't know the procedure how to contact you. I am not going to lie. Whatever I say is the truth. Let me explain myself. My name is ayan as you know. My website is 3 years old, and I have worked hard for it. I watched on youtube how to get genuine links that's why I did that. But these links in no way are spam. You can read all the links. These all links were related to the article. I have not put any spam. I have just put links that are related. I accept my mistake. I promise you that I will never ever try to spam. I also promise you that I will never ever try to put my websites link on Wikipedia ever. My request is please don't harm my website. I have worked hard for it. Please, sir. You can block it in Wikipedia but do not block it on Google and everywhere else. please don't harm it. If possible do not block it here on Wikipedia as well, my site will become popular one day I promise that day someone else will give my sites reference. I know that. All I can do is tell you that I didn't mean to harm anyone. Please don't do this to me. I can only request. I don't know actually how it works. I only put articles related to that article. I am literally sorry if I have broken any rules. That wont happen again.

Hello, He is my client

Aditya Gairola (talk) 08:48, 3 October 2021 (UTC) Hello, team,

I have tried to maintain a neutral tone and read the guidelines before making the post live. But I understand I am not an expert at Wikipedia so I have gone ahead and made amendments in the draft as suggested by you. I have also added an important inference, "I was paid for creating Ramesh Behl (Professor)" on my username page. Thank you for guiding me.

Please let me know if I need to remove or edit anything on the page. Thanks. Aditya Gairola (talk) 08:48, 3 October 2021 (UTC)

@Aditya Gairola, Thank you for the transparency. If you read the WP:PAID page, there are several templates that make the declaration easier, in particular the PAID template. I've gone ahead and added the connected contributor paid template to the article talk page. One thing that's missing is who paid you, if you could go to the talk page, and edit the U1-employer parameter to indicate who paid you. If you're not sure how to do that, you can just say here, or update the declaration on your user page to indicate that. The ToU do require that you disclose the employer, client and affiliation.
On the article itself, the main issue would be notability. WP:NPROF and WP:NAUTHOR are probably relevant and at least right now, I don't see how those are met by the article. There are issues with sourcing in the article (the early life section is unsourced). What's needed are non-interview sources from solid publishers that have substantial coverage of the person. Not casual or brief mentions, not of entities they are affiliated with, but significant coverage of the article subject. That's what article reviewers look for in drafts. I'm not a reviewer, but those are the issues I saw with the article. Ravensfire (talk) 19:06, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
Hi, thank you for the valuable inputs. I will try and create a few articles that talk extensively about the client. Meanwhile, could you please share the right step to add the details/ steps of how to add the employer details?. Thanks. Can we not take the page live with these citations? I have removed any presumptuous information from the page. For his early life, I had added a Wikibio reference but apparently, that was removed. Kindly help.

Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aditya Gairola (talkcontribs) 13:44, 5 October 2021 (UTC)

@Aditya Gairola, For the employer details, I've edited your user page to use the paid template which makes the disclosures easy and left the employer blank. Just edit the template on that page and add the employer details. For example, if you work for ABC Image Consultants who were hired to create Behl's page, you would put ABC Image Consultants as Employer, and Behl as the client. If Behl directly paid you, put Behl as the Employer. A similar template is on the draft talk page, but if you aren't comfortable with that template, I can handle that once you fill in the template on your talk page.
Source wise, Wikibio is a scraper site that is not a reliable source for Wikipedia. The page will go live once a reviewer accepts it, but right now, that's really, really unlikely. You've got to find good, strong sources that aren't connected to the subject, have significant coverage and aren't interviews. Ravensfire (talk) 19:46, 5 October 2021 (UTC)

Aditya Gairola (talk) 08:17, 7 October 2021 (UTC) Thank you for your tips and help. I have added the employer's name as well as a few citations. I have also requested the team to get a few insightful blogs ready for the subject. Have a good day ahead! Much appreciated.

@Aditya Gairola please note that blogs are WP:UGC and are not considered to be reliable sources for Wikipedia. And having things done *now* to get sources for an article is frankly not a good image. Articles used as sources must come from independent publishers with a solid reputation. Not interviews or paid-for puff pieces. Ravensfire (talk) 13:58, 7 October 2021 (UTC)

Lyrics spam

Hey, please remove my site link from blacklist. I will never add any sites link again. Please remove this site link from blacklist. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GamerAakash (talkcontribs) 17:18, 11 October 2021 (UTC)

@GamerAakash, you can request it to be removed at WT:SBL. It is unlikely to be removed, however. First, it is not a reliable source for Wikipedia. Second, you continued to add links to the site after being warned it was spammed and not to do so. Wikipedia is not the place to promote your site, spamming is not tolerated here and there are consequences for continuing to do so after being warned. Ravensfire (talk) 18:00, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
I did not pay attention to the warnings given by Wikipedia, it is my big mistake, I agree. Please remove 99lyricstore.com from Wikipedia's blacklist I accept my mistake and I never add lyrics links in Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GamerAakash (talkcontribs) 05:19, 14 October 2021 (UTC)
It's not a reliable source for Wikipedia. It was spammed by the site owner. Sites on the blacklist are not removed when requested by the owner. In other words, it's not going to happen. Ravensfire (talk) 13:49, 14 October 2021 (UTC)

Image

Is it allowed in Wikipedia to add images that contains watermark. Cactinites (talk) 16:10, 13 October 2021 (UTC)

@Cactinites It is, although discouraged. WP:WATERMARK says that "Free images should not be watermarked, distorted, have any credits or titles in the image itself or anything else that would hamper their free use", but it's not required. Obviously, see the large number of BollywoodHungama image that have the watermark still. As they are free images, the watermark can be removed and a new version uploaded. The strong preference is NOT to have watermarks, and can be a deciding factor in a discussion about which image to use on an article. Ravensfire (talk) 17:13, 13 October 2021 (UTC)

James O'Keefe Wikipedia Edit Removal

Hello Ravensfire,

You have seemed to reverse my edits to the Wikipedia page dedicated to James O'Keefe. On these edits, I have revised blatant lies that discredit and ruin the credibility of the Project Veritas founder.

Please let me know why you have removed them, and what should be done to fix them.

Thank you, Supermariogamingplayz — Preceding unsigned comment added by Supermariogamingplayz (talkcontribs) 17:09, October 18, 2021 (UTC)

@Supermariogamingplayz: There's a couple of issues. As you can probably guess, that article has seen extensive edit-warring, disruptive editing and general unpleasant editing evironment to the point there are discretionary sanctions to help keep disruptive editing to a minimum. O'Keefe is a very polarizing person with a fair number of supporters and quite a few detractors. Wikipedia articles are supposed to be neutral which has a pretty specific meaning. Remember this is an encyclopedia, written to present a summary of the subject, so that neutral means that information in articles must be based on reliable secondary sources and in proportion to how those sources present the subject. So the question becomes how is O'Keefe generally portrayed by secondary sources? When an edit you make gets reverted, the best place to start is often the article talk page. On articles like this, you'll find extensive discussions and often some of which pertains to aspects of the edit you've made. Wikipedia works on a WP:CONCENSUS model, so you need to work with other editors on the talk page to see about changing existing consensus. Read through those previous discussions so you'll know the points that have been raised in prior discussions, especially those related to Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Ravensfire (talk) 22:21, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
I was about to add that just reverting back to your preferred version over and over is called editwarring and only leads to a really quick block. Likewise, calling edits you don't like WP:VANDALISM is a bad thing. In this case, you ended up blocked for vandalism because you reverted over and over to push a POV that contrary to consensus and ignores the significant issues a lot of high quality sources have with O'Keefe. That's a good way to score points back on a far-right forum, but a bad way to edit Wikipedia. Think about it. Hopefully, you'll start with the article talk page and read the existing discussions first before teeing up on the revert button and finding out that doesn't work too well. Ravensfire (talk) 22:24, 18 October 2021 (UTC)

Promotional?

If you won’t tell me what you think is promotional according to you, how will I find out? In reverting everything, you are also removing multiple sources and information + updates. Vucien (talk) 14:32, 22 October 2021 (UTC)

You've been reverted by multiple people (and this edit has been attempted by multiple accounts, all blocked as socks in the past). Discuss on article talk page. Ravensfire (talk) 15:29, 22 October 2021 (UTC)

About Wikipedia sources

I have two questions about Wikipedia sources: (1)Is it allowed to use You Tube Videos as source in wikipedia ? (2) Is it allowed to use minimal realiable source like Pinkvilla in Wikipedia ? Cactinites (talk) 10:21, 23 October 2021 (UTC)

@Cactinites, For Youtube, it depends. WP:YOUTUBE and WP:Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Perennial_sources#YouTube cover it; the basic answer is if the video is from a verified channel of a reputable news organization, it may be okay. You have to be careful about possible self-published information but there isn't a blanket prohibition on using Youtube. As always with source questions, the context matters greatly. There was a Pinkvilla discussion on RSN here -WP:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard/Archive_355#Pinkvilla,_Meaww_&_Bollywood_Life that points out the issues with using that site as a source. I would generally avoid using a clickbait tabloid site like that. Ravensfire (talk) 13:40, 23 October 2021 (UTC)

Unhealthy behaviour

The user Vucein whose edits you reverted recently is continuously doing desruptive edits on 3 pages: Harshad Chopda and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai being excessive promotional. And on Anupamaa they remove general story like protagonist's Ovarian cancer diagnosis. And update that story which hasn't been arrived just on the basis of promos and precaps. Which often proves to be misleading many times. I tried to warn them but they alleged me of doing promotion. And they remove necassary parts like personal life and when music videos and past shows of actors released on the grounds of promotion for Paras Kalnawat and my recently created Anagha Bhosale and Muskaan Bamne. Atleast I accept my mistakes. But they doesn't accept their mistakes. Thinks their edits to be perfect and shows hostile behaviour towards every other editor by engaging in edit war. I also saw an IP user this morning who edited in the cast section just on the basis of precap. I'm providing it's link.[20]. I'm also providing links to some of their desruptive edits.[21][22]. And one thing I added Protagonist's younger son Samar's character in main cast section on the basis of this character included in all versions of Sreemoyee including Sreemoyee itself. But they accused me of being a fan. And someone suspected them to be sockpuppet due to their repititive desruptive edits on Harshad Chopda. I'm providing it's link too.[23]. I tried to warn them about this in their talk page but first they gave rude reply accusing me of doing those things which they themselves do and then didn't replied after 2nd warning reply. I'm providing it's link too[24]. Pra2310 was my former username. [25][26][27]. They have been repeatedly warned by you, me and other editors. Even I tried to resolve these issues by asking them to come on my talk page on their talk page. But they are continuously showing hostile behaviour by engaging in edit war with everyone and accusing others for what they themselves do. So can't a strict action be taken against them??? Pri2000 (talk) 21:01, 13 November 2021 (UTC)

Honestly, it's probably time to take this to WP:ANI, focusing on the behavior you noted, especially the WP:OWN that seems to be happening. I personally think they are a sock, but at the SPI report (here) the most recent accounts are too stale and an admin needs to review the behavior, which hasn't happened. I think you need to go to ANI, I'll support that and note my sock suspicions. Ravensfire (talk) 00:09, 14 November 2021 (UTC)s Ravensfire (talk) 00:09, 14 November 2021 (UTC)

Stalking

Hello brother/sister. Thanks for guiding me in creating report against Vucein. Even I saw another IP doing same revert as Vucein. And now I feel Vucein and his suspected sockpuppets are stalking my userpage. As they're doing unnecessary edits over only those page after Harshad Chopda, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and some other shows as fans which I created blaming me to be fan. Which I'm not. I accepts my mistakes. But can't agree with those accusations which I hadn't done. Can you please tell me where can I do report for userpage stalking. Pri2000 (talk) 08:17, 14 November 2021 (UTC)

Constant removal by fanpage

Hello brother/sister. Thanks for your recent help in my created pages. But in TV series Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein a user Neilshasairat (which are indeed the off as well as onscreen ship names of Neil Bhatt and Ayesha Singh playing Sai and Virat) is continuously removing Aishwarya Sharma playing Patralekha the main antagonist's name from main cast section. I warned them 3 times not to do this. But they and some IP users are continuously doing this. Will this case be filed in sockpuppet investigation or anywhere else. Pri2000 (talk) 01:01, 16 November 2021 (UTC)

How I wished it were a RS, at least with regards to WP:ATTRIBUTEPOV. But if I request specific FC articles to be whitelisted, it might be accepted right? Kailash29792 (talk) 05:32, 5 December 2021 (UTC)

@Kailash29792, I wouldn't use the whitelisting unless no other source has similar information. So a whitelisting request just for a review when there are other reviews from reliable sources available I would avoid. When it's the only place that something notable is mentioned, that's a good time for whitelisting. Ravensfire (talk) 14:32, 6 December 2021 (UTC)

Creating an article for Vidhya Vinod

Hey, I have Tried to create a wikipedia article for Dr. Vidhya Vinod, and it seems that you have deleted the same. Can you guide me through the steps to create an article and why did you delete that content. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ajna Hamza (talkcontribs) 05:14, 6 December 2021 (UTC)

@Ajna Hamza, the article has now been deleted from two discussions - one in July 2020 the other just recently. That strongly says that right now Vinod does not meet the notability requirements. Read the comments from the AFD's - using promotional sources, article written in a promotional tone, interviews as sources - all of these are not helpful. Perhaps in a year or two if better quality sources exists (non-promotional, not connected to the subject and not promotional in nature) you could start a draft and see if that gets accepted. Right now though, I just don't see that happening. Ravensfire (talk) 15:00, 6 December 2021 (UTC)

Please don't EVER change another editor's user page. You made a very wrong assumption about how I wanted my user page. Here's a hint - it's exactly the way I wanted it to be. Look at the history - did you think it was my accident that I created it as a redirect some 12 years ago? And never changed it? And yet you assumed that I wanted something else? Don't EVER do something like that again. That's incredibly rude of you. Ravensfire (talk) 17:00, 10 December 2021 (UTC)

Raghava Lawrence

Ravenfire sir, I've noticed you just now that you left a message in my talk page about why I edited an article named Raghava Lawrence. Actually sir, I edited this article to add his real identity and also to add more information about his wiki article so that's why I edited this article. Sorry Ravensfire sir please don't mind, but I've to revert your edit to give his real information and improve the article of him. My sincere apologies. IndianEncyclopaedic (talk) 16:53, 10 December 2021 (UTC)

@IndianEncyclopaedic If you don't have a relible source for the information, please don't add it. It will be removed, and if you continue to add unsourced information, you can end up blocked from editing. Wikipedia requires sources so that readers can verify the information. @Wikicircuitz and Uma Narmada: First, I am not an admin (nor do I have any desire to become one), so I cannot help with blocks. Second this is at WP:ANI now being discussed as neither of you are coming across as good editors. Content disputes (and yes, that's what this is) require discussion and collaboration which usually means on article talk pages. WP:BRD would be a really good idea for you both to read and a better idea to follow.
@Wikicircuitz: Don't go around changing other editors comments on talk pages. That's not acceptable on Wikipedia and quite honestly, it's not acceptable anywhere. It's a petty, cheap tactic to try to hide someone else's words. Ravensfire (talk) 14:10, 14 December 2021 (UTC)

Why you have removed plot of ziddi dil Maana Na 205.253.124.202 (talk) 05:17, 18 December 2021 (UTC)

Couple of notes. First, having a couple of reviews would really help show notability. The show exists, that's good, but demonstrate that sources have noticed it. On the lead, consider what's really important to readers and start with that. Your lead right now starts with the show name and then the producers. The producers?!?! That's the second most important thing to readers? Not the actual stars of the show? That needs to be put in a more logical order. Ravensfire (talk) 16:08, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
I have made some changes to the article. It has been three weeks since the launch of the series. I couldn't find reviews from reliable sources. Reverting my edits

Hi Ravensfire!

I'm not sure why you removed my last edit from @Hard Kaur's; i.e. the last para of the 'Controversial Statements' part of her page, I provided a credible source just like I did for the rest of the edits I made on her page.

Also, now that I'm providing source, any edits I make is still getting reverted because of the previous bot-automated mark-for-review check that's assigned to my account. I don't think I've engaged in any attempt of intentional vandalism or abuse after the previous message I received on my talk page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wadafaqbro (talkcontribs) 11:43, December 28, 2021 (UTC)

Bharati Kannama Reversion

Why revert? It is ongoing show, so summary will obviously be lengthy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CrowIce (talkcontribs) 04:05, 30 December 2021 (UTC)

Obviously, you're not familiar with Wikipedia's standards for television show articles. Please read WP:TVPLOT - generally, there should be a summary of no more than 500 words per season. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, presenting a short summary of the topic. The detail you're looking for is appropriate on a fansite such as Fandom, not here. Ravensfire (talk) 05:04, 30 December 2021 (UTC)

You do realize that indian serials are not broken up into seasons, correct? There are over 600 episodes. 500 words cannot capture the plot. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CrowIce (talkcontribs) 05:34, 30 December 2021 (UTC)

@CrowIce this may be surprising to you, but yes, I actually do. You do realize that most episodes don't advance broad plot lines but are just there for advertising, correct? Complaining here about Wikipedia's standards won't do you much good other than venting, a talk page discussion on Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style/Television may actually help. I mean, if you just want to vent here though, sure, go for it. Ravensfire (talk) 13:57, 30 December 2021 (UTC)

Having watched indian serials, they are slow-paced, yes. An episode can be summarized in a few sentences, but to outright say that most of the epsiodes are for advertising is misleading to me. Can you provide me with a source? — Preceding unsigned comment added by CrowIce (talkcontribs) 17:23, 30 December 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for responding to the message, but sadly I also saw you continued to edit-war over this. Quite frankly, I don't care one way or the.other, but reverting over and over especially when multiple other editors are involved is not helpful. The usual editing pattern here is called WP:BRD and requires you to have started a discussion on the article talk page. Wikipedia puts cast order based on the billing block in the film poster, generally. You need to discuss why your preferred order should differ. Ravensfire (talk) 13:32, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
