Viewliner photo
[edit]Hi, on the Viewliner page, you replaced a photo of a Viewliner sleeper and parts of a 2nd sleeper and baggage car, with one of a Viewliner diner in non-revenue service. This does not seem to be an improvement. Viewliners are primarily sleepers; the main photo should reflect that. Also, Viewliners do not run on the Capitol Ltd.; if the photo you inserted was taken on the Capitol Ltd., the diner was likely being ferried from Washington to Chicago en route to a maintenance facility. I respectfully request that you restore the original photo, as it is more representative and appropriate to the article. Thank you. Joelkfla (talk) 17:13, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
- That’s a fair point, I just wasn’t a fan of repeating the same image twice on the same page. I’ve flipped them around. RickyCourtney (talk) 18:11, 26 October 2024 (UTC)

Where's your citation that the HQ is not in KC?
[edit]You just removed an edit with a source that says the HQ is in KC. I'd like to see some confirmation otherwise. Jcody21 (talk) 01:54, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- I rescind my request. I do think it is confusing that certain sources don't specify that KC is only the US headquarters. It might be helpful to include another line in the inforbox that clarifies that there are multiple headquarters and what they are for each country. Jcody21 (talk) 02:00, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Jcody21 first off, take a deep breath. As I see another editor already discussed with you on your talk page, stay cool when editing. Assume good faith. We are all here to make Wikipedia a better place.
- CPKC Annual Financial Report, page 23: CPKC's registered, executive and corporate head office is located at 7550 Ogden Dale Road S.E., Calgary, Alberta, T2C 4X9, Canada. CPKC's U.S. head office is located at 427 West 12 Street, Kansas City, Missouri, 64105.
- Most multi-national companies have a "head office" in each country in which they operate. GE, Siemens, Boeing, Apple, Samsung... you get the point. These offices are usually not notable. If you feel like an exception is warranted in this case, write something up add add it to the page, or suggest it on the talk page. Cheers! -- RickyCourtney (talk) 02:14, 16 November 2024 (UTC)

Better source request for File:Soyuz MS-24 mission patch.png
[edit]Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:
You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete or generic. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact source (such as the web page, or printed document) where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain, search engine, pinboard, aggregator, or the direct/bare URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. — Ирука13 06:26, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
Burbank-Airport South station
[edit]How do you edit the frequency of trains at Burbank-Airport South station? I found out recently that the northbound Coast Starlight skips this station. Endrias Kassa (talk) 23:08, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
Crew Dragon capacity
[edit]Hey Rick, I appreciate all of your contributions to spaceflight pages.
I'm curious if you have a source for asserting 2-4 crew on Dragon. That is what it has carried for crewed missions, but given it is capable of autonomous flight, as demonstrated with Crew Dragon Demo-1, and SpaceX.com states that it is capable of "up to seven astronauts". I'm not asserting seven as normal, but it has proven no minimum crew required.
Thanks. Alpacaaviator (talk) 00:01, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hey. Yeah, I get your point and perhaps there is a better way to display this, but when there is a crew, two to four would be the “normal capacity.”
- Ahead of the Crew-9 mission, Nick Hague gave a great interview on the NASA podcast about the work that had to take place when it went from a four to a two person mission and he had to take on the pilot and the commander role as a single person, the challenges of that, the limitations of what Aleksandr Gorbunov could assist with.
- I was also struck by this social post from future Dragon passenger Chun Wang: “I was once told that the Dragon is fully automatic, and all you needed to know is how to put out a fire, and you’d be ready to fly. Until a few weeks ago, I received 2.8 GB of learning materials. Not only do you need to understand every detail of the spacecraft and countless procedures, but you must also learn how to administer injections and even perform urinary catheterization in a weightless environment. It’s nuts.”
- So I guess what I’m getting at is, it paints a picture that, if there are passengers aboard it’s not really a fully autonomous spacecraft (likely because the safety requirements are so much higher). To borrow a phrase from Elon’s other company, perhaps it’s best to describe it as Full Self Flying (Supervised). Beyond that, the interview with Hague makes it sound like in NASAs opinion, the supervisory workload is too high for one person alone.
- But yes, the cargo dragon is inherently uncrewed. RickyCourtney (talk) 00:28, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
