Yeah I was notified. – Tinton5 (talk) 13:08, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. Seems like pages like are created if user makes a number of copyright violations. I hope the investigation will pass, you're a good editor. :) QuasyBoy 15:38, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I am sure it will not be a problem. I try to improve pages, not hurt them. Thanks for your support. – Tinton5 (talk) 17:07, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bicycle page I noticed

[edit]

Hi there. I noticed you created the page, Bicycle bell. I was surprised that this page was never on here before. I was wondering if you could consider making an article about the bicycle mirror. I mean, there are pages for practically all parts of a bike on here. Thanks! – Tinton5 (talk) 14:32, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Glad you liked it and thanks for helping improve it. As for bicycle mirrors, here's a start, though it is probably not what you mean. It might be a little tougher to make a full article without the legal requirement that the bell has. -AndrewDressel (talk) 15:12, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yeah not a problem. I clicked on that link and it sent me to the rear-view mirror page, in the bicycle section. I like this, and figured it would make sense to be on that page. It definitely is a start. – Tinton5 (talk) 17:13, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've added enrollment info and some other sources. It's not great, but it's a start. Keep up the great work on all things New Jersey, an area where it seems almost impossible to keep up with the pace of your edits, expansions and new articles. I hope this helps. Alansohn (talk) 23:43, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks and same to you. It looks great, by the way. Tinton5 (talk) 23:45, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. And thanks for populating the People from Point Pleasant, New Jersey category that I had just created. I was ready to start plugging away and you'd done it already. Thanks again! Let me know when I can return the favor. Alansohn (talk) 18:42, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
My pleasure, and will do. – Tinton5 (talk) 00:21, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Summit Medical Group

[edit]

Thanks for your offer to help with the Summit Medical Group page. I did a few revisions to come closer to the guidelines for neutral point of view, and removed some sections that others seemed to find promotional (even though I originally believed they helped establish notability). I'd really appreciate additional suggestions that you think might help improve the article and take it off of the list for possible deletion. NJmeditor (talk) 12:49, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

My pleasure. I fixed it up a bit, and I also put a comment on the talk page. It definitely does not read as a promotional page, in fact it seems much better than its original status. Anyway, always glad to help. – Tinton5 (talk) 00:23, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Linking to United States

[edit]

WP:OVERLINK generally discourages linking very common terms, providing an example of "United States" as a term that probably should not be linked, as the articles we're mostly editing are not about the country itself, but about people and places in the U.S. I've generally been unlinking the term when I get to it and that sometimes means removing it from infoboxes that contain the link where it is unlinked or written as "USA" because the template links it for you. I think there are very few people reading these articles who won't be able to figure out what country we're referring to. Just my thought on the subject. Alansohn (talk) 01:54, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Old Bridge CDP vs. Township

[edit]

From where I live in northern Bergen County everything else is South Jersey, but I know that Old Bridge is in your neck of the woods. I just did a move yesterday and figured I'd run it by you. A few months ago the article for "Old Bridge CDP, New Jersey" was renamed "Old Bridge, New Jersey" as the CDP does not actually have "CDP" as part of its name. After a pair of moves, Old Bridge (CDP), New Jersey is the title of the article for the CDP and Old Bridge, New Jersey now redirects to Old Bridge Township, New Jersey. My logic is that 99.9% of the time people who are linking to "Old Bridge, New Jersey" are referring to the township as a whole, not to the CDP, and that in the unlikely event that they want to refer to the CDP they should link directly to it. What are your thoughts on this issue as you are far closer to it than I am? Thanks for all of your continuing New Jersey editing efforts. Alansohn (talk) 19:24, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not a problem, and great catch. I believe it should stay as it is. When typing in just Old Bridge, New Jersey, most would expect to see the actual township page. When I type in Old Bridge in the search bar, the first result in the bar pops down which reads Old Bridge Township, New Jersey. I don't know if that only occurs with my computer or perhaps others as well. So, this would be my thought. On the other hand, in another part of the state (about 40 minutes from me), there is a similar issue regarding a CDP. Would you mind taking a look at this page: Talk:Hamilton Square, New Jersey. Thanks a lot. – Tinton5 (talk) 19:37, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, was it a coincidence that I just happen to start a page in my user space entitled The Shoppes at Old Bridge? If you noticed my contributions. – Tinton5 (talk) 19:40, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Massive coincidence. I did see that you had added an Old Bridge category to the school district, and that reminded me to approach you. See my response at the Hamilton Square talk page, because this is an interesting issue related to how the Census Bureau organizes CDPs from one census to the next. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Peter Weiss (YouTube) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Re:County Routes in NJ

[edit]

Personally, I think either method would work for describing county routes in NJ. The method that Monmouth County uses is called the Rockland County Scenario, in which the county routes are presented in a list in which each route has a section with {{infobox road small}}, a description of the route, and sometimes a junction list. This effort for Monmouth County was started by User:Kacie Jane but was never finished. The other method used in the other 20 counties is fine too as it presents the basic information about each county route. If you would like, you can finish the RCS list for Monmouth County and possibly make similar lists for the other counties. However, individual articles for these county routes should not be created. As for me helping, I am currently doing other contributions to Wikipedia (such as improving stub-class articles in Pennsylvania) but could possibly help in the future. Hello Tinton5. I am just letting you know that I deleted Amarnath OKB, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided, which doesn't fit the page in question. Thank you. — Joseph Fox 01:17, 23 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cut-and-paste move for Shiloh

[edit]

I agree that Shiloh, New Jersey should be the title for the article, rather than Shiloh, Cumberland County, New Jersey. The Shiloh, New Jersey article had been a dab page that included an entry for Shiloh, Warren County, New Jersey as a red link, but there appears to be no likelihood of that article ever being created. GNIS reports a populated place called "Shiloh" in Warren County in or around Blairstown, New Jersey, but the Census Bureau and Postal Service list no other Shiloh in the state, and the borough in Cumberland County should carry the name without any disambiguation. The problem is that the title change needs to be implemented as a page move, which will change the title and also move the history along with it, per Wikipedia:How to fix cut-and-paste moves. The first step is to undo the cut-and-pastes in both articles to restore both articles to the status quo ante. Once that is done, if a page move won't work then this needs to be done properly through the Wikipedia:Requested moves process. Alansohn (talk) 16:07, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure who did it, but the moves have been undone. Add this to Wikipedia:Requested moves to effect the change that is needed here. Alansohn (talk) 16:50, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure either who did that. I just requested the page move here. Tinton5 (talk) 00:48, 27 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Twitter and WP:ELOFFICIAL

[edit]

Greetings! I see you've been adding Twitter links to a number of articles. However, for some of the articles, like Jennette McCurdy, there is already a link to the subject's official website, and a link to her Twitter feed is readily available there. Per WP:ELOFFICIAL, the number of links is to be minimized. It particularly points out Twitter and social media links in these situations as links that should not appear in the External links section. Accordingly, I've removed some of the links you added. —C.Fred (talk) 04:08, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Putting Farmingdale in Howell Township category

[edit]

There's more than enough entries to justify the Category:Howell Township, New Jersey that are directly related to Howell Township, New Jersey itself. I'm not sure why it would be justified under the Wikipedia categorization scheme to include entries for the Farmingdale School District and Farmingdale, New Jersey. I know they are mentioned in the description of the category, but they break the logical structure of including entries that are in or directly connected to the category title itself. Alansohn (talk) 18:35, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the same goes with Category:Manalapan Township, New Jersey. Here, I put in some entries related to Englishtown, which is surrounded by Manalapan and used to be part of it until 1888. With Farmingdale, it is the same situation, where Farmingdale is surrounded by Howell and used to be part of the Township. I am not against putting those categories separate from the rest, as in Farmingdale School District and Farmingdale, NJ and the Manalapan category for Englishtown, NJ. But, what would be your view? Tinton5 (talk) 04:57, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Also, Category:Medford, New Jersey includes entries for Medford and Medford Lakes.
Okay, so here's the reasoning for the category, to include both Howell entries and Farmingdale ones. The page Howell High School (New Jersey) says in the lead sentence "located in Howell Township, New Jersey", where in the info box, and the school's official website state it is located at 405 Squankum-Yellowbrook Road in Farmingdale, NJ. I find this a bit contradicting. Tinton5 (talk) 05:12, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The mailing address is Farmingdale, but Howell High School is located in Howell Township. I would limit a category to what's actually in it, for all of the categories affected. Alansohn (talk) 02:02, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Elizabeth-Gillies-Victorious.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Elizabeth-Gillies-Victorious.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Geraldo Perez (talk) 06:27, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Thornberryslogo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 09:49, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: NJ Tpke

[edit]

I'd withdraw immediately if I were you personally. There are boatloads of unsourced statements, probably enough to fill the Navesink. The article needs its photography realigned a bit, and honestly, nothing really has changed but some nicely designed citations. No article should go to GAN when 40% of the article is unsourced. Main parts that need work are the history (about 75% unsourced) and the route description, which is 99% unsourced. A lot of the history needs expansion into details, including why was 15X constructed. The Exit 8 redesign stuff is way too large and needs shrinking. After all that is done, I'd get an outside copyeditor to do some work, then GAN it. Mitch32(Never support those who think in the box) 20:01, 27 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much. I saw the draft, btw. Hopefully it will become an article again. Tinton5 (talk) 15:10, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That's if anyone wants to put in Deletion review, again. QuasyBoy 16:16, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Pinelands Center at Mount Misery

[edit]

Hello,

Nice new page for the above located at Mount Misery (New Jersey).

Question/suggestion: Wouldn't the official name be more appropriate for the article title?

Hello, thank you so much. I have an interest in creating NJ-related pages (roads, buildings, place names, rivers, etc). Feel to take a look at some of the ones I have started and/or made large contributions to. I agree that the title for Mount Misery should be changed to its official name. You can change it if you like. Thanks for the suggestion. Tinton5 (talk) 15:09, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK, moved the page and took care of the redirects. I just didn't want to start an edit war or anything negative. Great article BTW. Gjs238 (talk) 15:57, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nolet Het Reymerswale & De Echoput

A restaurant holding a Michelin star run of the mill, I don't think so. About the Dutch sources: are you familiar with WP:NONENG and WP:GNG (states: Sources are not required to be available online, and they are not required to be in English.) and WP:ORG (States in the footnotes: Inclusion in "best of", "top 100", and similar lists generally does not count towards notability, unless the list itself is so notable that each entry can be presumed notable. Examples of the latter include the Fortune 500 or a Michelin Guide to restaurants.)? Night of the Big Wind talk 03:00, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
