- Comment Could you please tell me more about the Russian Biathlon Cup, a competition that's not even mentioned in any other article? Why would competing there be enough for notability? I'm also skeptical about the junior title, it's not mentioned by the Russian Biathlon Union nor anywhere else (not that it would change my mind anyways). And why didn't she take part in the IBU Junior World Championships if she had been one of Russia's best young biathletes (as indicated by winning a national title), then?   - The Russian Biathlon Cup is listed on the Russian Biathlon Union website among local biathlon competitions. From what I see, it's an all-Russian competition, involving federal subjects of Russia, where Yakimkina, for instance, represented Udmurtia. As for Russian Junior Biathlon Championship, even though it's not mentioned in her entry on the RBU website, this appears in Russian media, such as Argumenty i Fakty which says she was the prizewinner at the Russian Junior Biathlon Championship in Krasnoyarsk in March 2014 ("В марте 2014 года Якимкина становилась призером в юниорской эстафете первенства страны в Красноярске"). - I can't see how you can separate her career from the way she died. You suggest that her death is notable because it happened at a public (sporting) event, don't you? Delete per WP:BIO1E and WP:NOTNEWS. I disagree with the nominator's rationale that non-participation in a major competition precludes inclusion via WP:GNG (and by inference WP:NSPORTS). However, given the lack of sources, it's possible that her athletic career wasn't notable prior to her tragic death. There are media reports of that event but, if that's all there is in coverage and there's no further followup, I don't think it's enough to sustain an article.
