- File:JohnCBogle.jpeg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Oakshade (notify | contribs | uploads).
- Not at all clear what this image is adding to the article, not clear how it meets NFCC#8. J Milburn (talk) 01:36, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep - The article John Bogle, the author of this work, describes this book as being written by Bogle and as a "best seller" and a "classic" (sourced). Showing the cover of this book is an excellent visual aid to the reader so they can see the book that the topic wrote and which became a best seller and is considered a "classic."--Oakshade (talk) 01:42, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes, I'm sure the book is important and worth discussing in the article. I've not challenged that. However, we do not use non-free content just because the article happens to discuss what it depicts. We use non-free content when it adds significantly to the article- how is this cover doing that? Is the cover in some way important? Is the reader unable to understand the article without the cover? J Milburn (talk) 02:01, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Delete- this should have been a clear speedy, does not meet WP:NFCC, and has no rationale detailing why it should be used in this specific article. Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 02:40, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]- Keep now that an article on the book has been created, but it should not be used in any other article. Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 23:46, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Delete per Ed, until we have an article about the book itself. Kelly hi! 08:03, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- We do have an article on the book itself; Common Sense on Mutual Funds: New Imperatives for the Intelligent Investor.
- In that case, use it on the book article, but remove it from the author article, where it's in violation of WP:NFCC#1. Kelly hi! 09:06, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- It is removed now, but I don't think it's correct to delete an image that's used properly in one article and possibly improperly in another. It's just a matter of removing the image from the article that may cause concern.--Oakshade (talk) 09:10, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Agreed. Kelly hi! 09:20, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Update - Been meaning to do this a while, but the article on the book Common Sense on Mutual Funds: New Imperatives for the Intelligent Investor was just created. This image is the cover to that book. The Rationale states very clearly: "The image is used as the primary means of visual identification of topics in the article." --Oakshade (talk) 09:04, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- move to commons license is compatible; it looks like a highway shield, but could conceivably be used for other things. 65.94.45.209 (talk) 06:36, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Go ahead and delete it. I made it originally for the Gwydir Highway article, but someone made a SVG. No great loss if it goes. Peter Greenwell (talk) 06:39, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
