VinceB was banned in April 2007, as can be seen in his block log. Squash Racket is accused of editing in similar patters Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/VinceB (4th). Please Check Again was a new account created to defend Squash Racket against this accusation. The Random Editor (talk · contribs) initially blocked Squash Racket as a sock puppet, but then he had second thoughts, unblocked him, and asked me to file this checkuser case. Thank you for looking into it. Shalom (HelloPeace) 14:46, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I can't believe this. How many times do you request for a checkuser on the very same case[1]? Deskana had dealt with this and said all data on VinceB was lost. I created User:Please Check Again (see contributions please and consider why I chose this name) to appeal the block because I didn't know I could edit my talk page while being blocked. The moment I got a message from Nat that I may appeal a block on my own talk page I finished using this fake account. I've just asked The Random Editor to delete it. Now I am unblocked and someone starts it all over again. Squash Racket 07:15, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
See also my talk page for the Unblock process. Maybe you should ask The Random Editor first, because he asked for this checkuser one day before he unblocked me.Squash Racket 07:42, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Deskana already did this. A check of Please Check Again won't reveal anything new.--Chaser - T 07:53, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

VinceB (10th Request)

[edit]

The banned user VinceB (see Wikipedia:Community sanction noticeboard/Archive6#Community ban proposal for VinceB) has been evading his ban since then, using sockpuppets and editing from dynamic IP addresses starting by 195.56. and 91.120. As someone who had to deal with the original puppetmaster on numerous occasions, I am quite positive he is currently using a new sockpuppet: Squash Racket (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). Clearly, it is not a new user, as he/she reported an incident at WP:ANI[2] and used the Wiki-jargon in edit summaries[3] the very same day he/she registered an account.

Comparing contributions of Squash Racket[4] and the banned VinceB[5], most of their edits push a very specific POV (roughly describable as Hungarian nationalism) in a limited number of articles (e.g. Magyarization and Slovakization). Both accounts display a very similar, disruptive style of communication. For example, both have removed all the comments they did not like, incl. blocks and vandalism warning templates, from their talk pages (VinceB[6], Squash Racket[7]); both have reported fake incidents and ordinary content disputes at WP:ANI (VinceB [8], Squash Racket[9]); Both have regularly called other editors engaged in a content dispute "liars" (Vince[10], Squash Racket[11]). Their level of English is very similar too. In addition, both have the same habit of editing their comment on a talk page several times just after posting it, both overuse capital letters and bolding in their comments, and both call other people "dudes", which is rather unusual among Hungarians.

However, the evidence supporting a link between a dangerous banned puppetmaster and User:Squash Racket is only indirect. I believe only CheckUser can lead to a block of this new sockpuppet or, if I am wrong, clear Squash Racket's name.

Technical note: Since VinceB has been blocked for a while, perhaps you can use some of his more recent socks if needed. The blocked accounts (not the numerous blocked IPs) are listed at Category:Wikipedia sockpuppets of VinceB.

How do you check a certain user? Just because the Magyarization page is a mess, a lot of users think that, just watch article's talk page. There are heavily Slovak nationalistic POV articles on Wikipedia (see Greater Hungary), so ban Tankred from editing? Where were my edits incredibly 'disruptive'?
Tankred may simply go on with all his personal attacks (for example calling me a troll) while not being especially kind with Hungarian related articles and also Hungarian users? I try to engage myself in a lot of things on Wikipedia (see my contributions), but the Hungarian related articles are in such a bad condition that I care for them too. Checkuser No. 10? That is not only hate speech towards all Hungarian users? Squash Racket 18:46, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I got some 'warning templates' - mainly from Tankred. No comment.
And yes, true, someone taught me to report every single problem when he is involved[12].
Tankred makes accusations of reporting fake incidents[13] at WP:ANI??? Exactly why did I archive this one on my talk page?
I reported him at WP:ANI, because he refused to answer me on his talk page[14],[15] or the articles' talk pages[16] and I didn't want an edit war.
"Both have regularly called other editors engaged in a content dispute 'liars'?" Regularly??? That means after you spied all my past you can pull up at least 4-5 examples, right? I call other people 'liars' about as frequently as I call them 'dudes'. Both have already happened.
Yes, I'm not a new user as I gained some experince with Wiki jargon in the Hungarian Wiki like other users before having an account here.
I see. 'Checkuser' for some is a legal way of personal attacks. Just go on with it, I'm waiting for other 'proof' like the ones presented above. Squash Racket 19:18, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think that was a clerk error (looking at the logs), given the fact that the second most recent was closed on 9/3. Kwsn(Ni!) 17:42, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

VinceB (9th Request)

[edit]
For block log of the original account, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User%3AVinceB&diff=126293671&oldid=120307917
For previous cases related to user VinceB, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Case/VinceB

These 3 users show similar behavior as banned user VinceB including disruptive revert warring, personal insults and nationalist POV pushing and they also edit same articles as VinceB. Also, last edit of VinceB was in 4 April 2007: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/VinceB while 2 of these 3 users were registered after this date: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&dir=prev&target=Hobartimus (user Hobartimus on 27 May 2007), http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&dir=prev&target=Fcsaba (user Fcsaba on 10 July 2007). As for user Koppany: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&dir=prev&target=Koppany he registered his username before, but he could be an older sockpuppet of VinceB since he certainly show certain similarity of behaviour with this user. VinceB (8th Request)

[edit]

The banned user VinceB (see Wikipedia:Community sanction noticeboard/Archive6#Community ban proposal for VinceB) has been evading his ban since then, using sockpuppets (see Category:Wikipedia sockpuppets of VinceB) and editing from dynamic IP addresses starting by 195.56. and 91.120. Several suspicious accounts of VinceB's POV have been recently created and launched edit wars. Except for CoolKoon, all of them were created approximately at the same time, all of them seem to be Hungarian, and all of them push a very specific POV. It is quite unlikely to be a coincidence because of a generally low number of Hungarian editors. CheckUser would be extremely helpful to clarify who is who and whether any (or all) of them are VinceB because all these accounts are now engaged in edit warring and some of them also in vandalizing.

  • Hobartimus is a purely disruptive account, created to delete the same sections of Slovakization as VinceB did (compare [17] and [18] for instance). His style also exhibits many aspects of VinceB's style (e.g. both have removed vandalism warning templates from their talk pages and pasted them to the talk pages of people who posted them; both use a formulation "false summary" in their edit summaries when they revert someone else; both have a particular interest in counties of the Kingdom of Hungary, vandalizing them rather than contributing to their improvement).
  • Comgear seems to be a short-lived account, among other things supporting VinceB's sockpuppet 195.56.240.244 in Template:HUCountiesto1918. Difficult to say if it was someone testing Wikipedia or one of VinceB's socks.
  • Székhu is a new problematic account renaming geographic names to their version in the Hungarian language and changing the sourced number of Hungarians to a suspiciously high and unsourced version. VinceB used to do it before his ban.
Comment: I think Székhu is some random and unrelated nationalist. He doesn't sound like Vince at all--even crazier, in fact. K. Lásztocska 03:28, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Baxter9 was created after a previous sockpuppet (User:Pannonia) was blocked. Baxter9 immediately began where Pannonia ended before his block: removing reference to the Slovak ethnicity in the first sentence of Móric Beňovský. Compare Baxter9's edit,[19] Pannonia's edit,[20] VinceB's edit,[21] and edit of an IP of VinceB's range[22]. That article is a kind of fetish for VinceB. He has also changed the names of historical counties in Slovakia to their Hungarian names.[23][24][25][26][27][28] This is exactly what VinceB (and no one else) used to do.[29][30] Although he is supposedly a newbie, his very first edit was a minor personal attack at a rahter specialized community page: Wikipedia:Hungarian Wikipedians' notice board. This is not the usual way how new users start after they discover Wikipedia. On the other hand, Baxter9 quit his behavior after warnings and is more civil amd open to discussion than VinceB.
  • CoolKoon is an older account. However, there has been some collaboration in edit warring at Slovakization between CoolKoon amd VinceB (compare [31] and [32]) and between CoolKoon and Comgear (compare [33] and [34]. VinceB, CoolKoon, Székhu, Comgear, and Hobartimus have all edited that article despite the fact that it is a rather obscure topic (with the title itself being a neologism) and the article is diffiult to find because of an extremely low number of links.

Fresh anti-Hungarian POV edits and vandalism, plus blanked ban notice on User:Juro. Note name similarity to Koooon (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log· investigate · cuwiki). — Mike Gogulski ↗C@T 21:51, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Inconclusive. But with a twist. There's no IP-relationship between the two of them (though Coolkoon is the same as User:CoolKoon, which isn't at all interesting.) However, Koonjo28 uses open proxies, one of which was a nest of JB196 puppets and sleepers. --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 00:46, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies for my screwed-up transclusion problem, but I posted another note about this which got removed because of my transclusion error. A personal email from Juro, or someone claiming to be him, pointed the finger at a different banned user, VinceB (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log· investigate · cuwiki). So, I'd request that the checkuser be continued against that account, if possible. Thank you. (re-opening via VinceB page) Whether there is a connection between Coolkoon/CoolKoon and Koonjo28, please investigate for the intersections among all of them. If it's still not conclusive, I'll pursue a different avenue. Thx again. — Mike Gogulski ↗C@T 01:16, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

VinceB (6th Request)

[edit]

The banned user User:VinceB is trying to evade his ban[35] again, by editing under a new name (one of his many names), as he used to do before (see all the confirmed requests from the past). Odbhss has the same interests as VinceB (renaming articles to a Hungarian version of their name) and occurs after the holder of the IP from the previous check-user was detected as VinceB Juro 15:46, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I added User:Pannonia, who may be a sockpuppet of VinceB because of the same style of editing and his/her user name is apparently parodying User:PANONIAN, who has been a main target of VinceB's attacks before his ban. I also added User:Koppany because he shares the same interest in certain articles with VinceB and the suspicion that he is a sockpuppet of banned user has already spoiled communication between several editors.[36] Both users appeared after the last sockpuppets of VinceB (User:Norman64 and an IP) were blocked. VinceB (5th Request)

[edit]

I suspect that the banned user User:VinceB is trying to evade his ban[37] again, by editing anonymously from IPs with a range 195.56, as he used to do before (see all the confirmed requests from the past). This new IP has the same interests as VinceB (renaming articles to a Hungarian version of their name)[38] and is responsible for some vandalism[39]. Tankred 22:16, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

no Declined; that's his established IP range and his established behavior. Please request admin action, not an unnecessary checkuser. Dmcdevit·t 09:29, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

VinceB (4th Request)

[edit]

I suspect that the banned user User:VinceB is trying to evade ban[40] by editing anonymously from IPs with a range 195.56, as he used to do before (see the first request). Those IPs edit the same articles that he has edited, exhibit the same style of edits, and have the same range as the previous sockpuppets of this banned user had. He has just openly declared that he is using all of those IPs to evade his ban.[41][42] Tankred 17:39, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

 Confirmed. Dmcdevit·t 01:51, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

VinceB (3rd Request)

[edit]

I suspect that User:VinceB is trying to evade his block by using User:Árpád as a sock puppet. In addition to the their disruptive behavior (VinceB blocked for personal attacks, vandalism, and edit warring[43] and Árpád warned by the last NPA warning possible[44]) and their same POV (basically a kind of Hungarian nationalism), I would like to point to their contribution history:

  • User:VinceB was active until May 23, 2006, when he stoped editing.
  • User:Árpád made his first edit on June 6, 2006 and ceased any activity on September 3, 2006 (after receiving the last warning for NPA violation).
  • User:VinceB reappeared on September 4, 2006 and he was active until his block on January 26, 2007.
  • User:Árpád reappeared only few hours after VinceB's block and is active since.

If those accounts are used by the same user (and VinceB has already been blocked for sockpuppetry), all those edits [45],[46],[47],[48],[49] are just a way how a blocked user is evading his block (applied because of his subtle nasty vandalism[50]). Tankred 21:47, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Inconclusive Related by locale; nothing else evident. --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 00:35, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

VinceB (2nd Request)

[edit]

VinceB has used IPs starting by 195.56. as sock puppets (see Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/VinceB) and the same pattern (195.56... making a controversial edit and VinceB "supporting" it after the edit got reverted) has re-emerged again. Compare [51] and [52]. The same IP was used[53] also in VinceB's long-term fight[54][55][56] against the description of a Hungarian political party as nationalist (though now in a less antagonistic way than before his previous block related to sockpuppetry). Tankred 19:30, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
  • Code letter: A

A vandal is constantly changing his/her IP. Instead of expanding articles, he/she is just deleting what he/she does not like (including numerical data and references to scholarly articles) and pushing nationalist POV. I suspect that all these IPs are sockpuppets of User:VinceB. VinceB stopped his activity at Vojvodina massacre and Ethnic cleansing just before the IP appeared. They switched again yesterday, perhaps because the IP would otherwise violate the 3RR rule. Their edits are often the same (compare [57] and [58] or [59] and [60]). Btw, VinceB, who has a record of personal attacks and vandalism, has also deleted all warning templates from his/her talk page ([61] and again [62]). The IP did absolutely the same to his/her own talk page [63] the very same day. Before I notified him/her (but I notified the IP), VinceB immediately realized that he/she is suspected.[64] After I notified him/her, VinceB started to harass me by placing undue warnings on my talk page. This is the first time I am asking for CheckUser (upon encouragement by more experienced users), so I hope I filed it right. Tankred 01:45, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I remove nationalist POV, what you push back into articles. I several times explained my source. When you call me nationalist, you call The Enclopédia Humana nationalist, dude. So step back a bit, and stop the agression against me. As you can read it on my talkpage, I do anonim edits also (mainly), because signing in is not a must. But accusing me of sockpuppetry is a personal attack after it. But - as usually - you always ignore my replies, and you continue to speak nonsense. I send you here again: Tankred, you are violating WP:CIV, an WP:FAITH for the 100th time again. --VinceB 07:18, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pretty similar situation as Siegenthaler's was. You know, when nonsenses was in the article abt him. Here's the same. Or even more, like the fidesz page, where the political opponent's simpatizers' writings were made as sources. I newer saw a single political article here, where the opponent's nonsense statements were in the main line, as the party's brief summary. Fidesz is criticized with nationalism, not a natonalist party. Lots of similar small POVs are in. I just delete them. Of course they wont let it. --VinceB 07:26, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmed all. There is definitely some tag-team edit warring going on here with the IPs and accounts. Dmcdevit·t 08:27, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
