Repeated edits on Cláudio César Dias Baptista and Géa from this IP range. On [1], IP says they are the article creator and are not Mr. Baptista. On [2], User: Cláudio César Dias Baptista says he is the article creator and a pupil of Mr. Baptista. Then on [3], Mr. Baptista himself writes as User: Cláudio César Dias Baptista. There are a lot more IPs, as they are dynamic. The same behaviour has occurred on the Portuguese Wikipedia, on the same articles. XXX antiuser eh? 23:51, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • information Administrator note A CU won't do much here for IPs. The ranges for these IPs - 187.13.0.0/17 and 187.14.96.0/19 - would cause enough collateral damage that I don't think we can block them. Having said that, I've protected the Claudio article, as well as the Rita Lee one. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 01:04, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Cláudio César Dias Baptista is using this sock plus some IPsocks on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cláudio César Dias Baptista and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Géa. Note how the spelling idiosyncrasies and choice of words are quite similar, even though the sock's profile says they speak English and were born in Australia. Their other edits all pertain to the "William Shakespeare lexicon" debacle discussed at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#WikiHounding / Article ownership issues / Possible IP socks. An IP check could quickly sort that out. XXX antiuser eh? 10:44, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Supporting Cláudio César Dias Baptista's claims on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cláudio César Dias Baptista and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Géa. Most Ip's from same or slightly different range. CU to check if some might be Meats. Doh5678 (talk) 12:11, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jcms1506br's comment is in the same wall-of-text style; Fabiopa's is more concise. I have added Likalileal, another new (concise) SPA. These may be just supporters - I suspect off-wiki canvassing is going on - but as there has been socking here I think a CU would be useful. JohnCD (talk) 15:03, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Likalileal looks legit. I think the IPs are Mr. Baptista, not sure about User:Fabiopa. XXX antiuser eh? 18:26, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No obvious sleepers, unfortunately. With the exception of Likalileal (talk · contribs), who is Red X Unrelated, I would consider the others as  Unlikely sockpuppets, as although they geolocate to the same political entity, the IPs are hundreds of miles apart. Behavioral evidence may indicate meatpuppetry, however. -- Avi (talk) 01:28, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Clerk note: Archived due to the result of the checkuser which doesn't point to sockpuppetry, maybe meatpuppetry, but if issues re-arrise, ANI might be a good forum to take the issue, otherwise it can always be re-filed here. Steven Zhang The clock is ticking.... 00:12, 16 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Cláudio César Dias Baptista was submitted to AfC by Ccdb (talk). On the article talk page, IP 187.13.85.227 writes "I am the person who created the page Cláudio César Dias Baptista. I utilize the siglum "CCDB", but I am not the author Cláudio César Dias Baptista, whose initials are also "CCDB". I am just a reader of his books." But Ccdb is a SUL account, and on :pt his user page pt:Usuário:Ccdb says that he is Baptista and at pt:Discussão:Cláudio César Dias Baptista#Meu interesse na página de meu nome he writes as Baptista.  Clerk note: endorsed by Steven Zhang, pending his comments once his mobile connection starts working properly SpitfireTally-ho! 23:31, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, thanks for that. I was in the City Loop, no cellular coverage. Archived previous case due to the result of the checkuser, but the issue can be taken to ANI if issues come up again. Endorsing this one just to double check if there are any other accounts we're not seeing. Steven Zhang The clock is ticking.... 23:44, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WP:Duck: this user has been caught socking three times since Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cláudio César Dias Baptista and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Géa went up for discussion, spelling idiosyncrasies and choice of words are quite similar and the IP's have cross-editted each other's posts here here and here. I'm sorry, but checkuser does not generally disclose connections between IPs and named accounts. TNXMan 19:33, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
