Suspected sockpuppets

Accounts removing speedies at Birkenhead Boys, identical to article previously speedied under at least one other spelling e.g. Birkenhead Drishyakala (Chenda), created by puppeteer. Much mutual doling out of barnstars between them. Gurt Posh (talk) 10:48, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Added User:Shashank2swim, creator of Pep figueiredo‎, with speedy tag removed by User:Divineabrahamad. Gurt Posh (talk) 11:27, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Apart from the rather similar user name, the alleged sock's very long user page included a picture from Commons, which is only used on one other page, User:Divineabrahamad/Sandbox, created by a confirmed sock. The user's other contributions are somewhat erratic. Because of the master account's track record, a check for sleepers and if possible a liberal amount of cement poured down their IP address are requested.  Endorsed by a checkuser. Yes, I'll check. AGK [] 22:46, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmed by technical evidence. In relation to the subsidiary requests:  Completed. AGK [] 22:46, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This version of the user page contains a picture of the same bloke whose mug figured in the previous SPI. The other edits certainly show the pattern of a well-trained sockpuppet settling in. The account has already been blocked, but if the there is a manageable IP range to block, I would be grateful to be rid of this nuisance for a while. •  Confirmed that Johnlord is Divineabraham (DA).
  • Rangeblock is partially  Not done, because DA is creating his accounts on a mobile internet connection in the UK that could not be blocked without an unacceptable volume of collateral.
  • Rangeblock  Done for his other IPs. My last range block was actually catching all of his edits, but I forgot to set "block anon only" to off… My mistake.
  • This is  Completed for now, but your continued vigilance would be helpful. AGK [] 22:14, 10 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thank you both. I don't have high hopes, but I've instructed him to stop creating socks and to request unblocking from his primary account if he wishes to edit. —DoRD (talk) 01:45, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

When running a checkuser on other Divineabraham socks that I stumbled across, these accounts came up as  Possible matches to him. All three appear to be making unconstructive edits; if someone could take a look at them and say yea/nay whether this is the same guy or not, I'd appreciate it. • Hersfold, are you wanting this looked at from a behavioural perspective, or are you wanting a CU double-check? If he's still creating sock-puppets, why don't we file an abuse report with the mobile network that he uses to create these accounts? We could also file an abuse report with his regular, non-mobile ISP. I've locally stored the whois info for his IP, although his accounts are by no means stale so any CU could pull this data too. AGK [] 09:54, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • I would say the technical link between the three accounts and Divineabraham is more  Likely than  Possible. But yup, I do think you've found more sleepers. AGK [] 10:16, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Compare User:Njavallil/ST. JOSEPH'S RC CENTER WIRRAL with Special:Undelete/St Josephs RC Center Wirral, the latter created by confirmed sock Abraham.divine (talk · contribs).
  2. Notice email address wikidivine@gmail.com on Njavallil's user page. Master as well as several puppets have used "divine" in their user names.
  3. Compare "Place : Anthiyalam, Palai, Kottayam District, Kerala, India" on Njavallil's user page with "Birthplace: Pala, Kottayam, Kerala , India" on Divineab's user page and Alexabraham22da's user page.

I'll block the account as a duck, but in view of the master's track record a search for sleepers as well as a range block (if feasible) are requested. Favonian (talk) 19:53, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • information Administrator note Blocked and tagged. If they want to request unblocking, that should come from the Divineabraham account (and looks like one request was already declined this month). It would probably make sense to check for sleepers given that the user is threatening to continue socking unless the main account is unblocked. Jafeluv (talk) 09:19, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Checked per the open intent to sock,  Confirmed.  IP blocked, nothing else to report. WilliamH (talk) 03:57, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
