The following evidence was sent to me by email. They wish to remain anonymous but I can confirm they are an editor in good standing on en.wiki. Wikiuser1314 was unblocked as per the consensus of the community at Special:Diff/1259749006. Note that I took Wikiuser1314's request to the community in the first place. At the time, I noted, "As a WP:CHECKUSER, I see no evidence of recent block evasion. I solicited feedback from other checkusers on the cu mailing list but did not get a response." As I'm involved here, I'm leaving the SPI to another checkuser and not looking myself. I'm happy to collaborate if that would be helpful, though. Formatting mistakes are mine alone. - Wikiuser1314 was blocked due to technical & behavioral evidence for being a sockpuppet of globally banned LTA WorldCreaterFighter and then requested SO after 6 months. However, they were actively socking via open-proxies even *WHILE* requesting SO.
- Abusing VPN servers/open proxies to avoid technical detection is a classic sock trick by WCF as mentioned on the LTA page and on numerous SPI cases against them. - The current sockpuppetry *while* requesting SO:
- The IP sock 103.84.173.134 (an open proxy) that was reverted by Florian Blaschke here.
- Evidences:
- The same topic area / pet topics as WCF or Wikiuser1314 (ancient hunter-gatherer populations, their genetics, etc)
- Identical edits/updates on sandbox by Wikiuser just after a few days. Compare this edit by Wikiuser1314 with this edit by the open proxy (adding/removing exactly the same contents, such as changing the wording "Basal Eurasian" to "Basal Eurasian-like", exact same changes on content by Vallini et al (2024), adding same info re haplotypes highlighting the same Y-DNAs even almost in the same order etc.)
- Using the same "Haplotree Information Project" source for Y-DNA of Iranian hunter gatherers which was reverted here and which was used on Wikiuser1314's sandbox for the Y-DNA of "Iranian hunter-gatherers" long before, see
- Open proxy abuse, just like the LTA
- Looks like WP:DUCK.
- Most probably, they were socking via open-proxies to bypass their latest block long before. See these suspected socks:
