Sicilian

[edit]

Etymology

[edit]

Unclear, but probably from or cognate to Old Italian Eliodoro, from Ancient Greek Ἡλιόδωρος (Hēliódōros), in particular from Heliodorus of Catania (although this is somewhat peculiar, given he was an early medieval apostate from Christianity to magic).

Proper noun

[edit]

Liotru m

  1. a male given name, equivalent to English Heliodorus
