Borrowed from English pyjamas, from Urdu پایجامه (pāyjāma) and Hindi पैजामा (paijāmā), from Persian پایجامه / پاجامه (pâyjâme / pâjâme, leg garment). See پای (pây, "leg") and جامه (jâmeh, garment).
