@Justinrleung: I see, so you go through quite a large number of sources to make these tables then! I understand they aren't totally complete, as I notice there's often comments like "--XX?", where do those come from? Are those terms possibly used but not found in any dictionary? One thing I've been looking at is 打呼嚕, which I do believe is used in Shanghainese but I can't seem to find it documented in any of the dictionaries. On the other hand 打昏塗 is in the dictionaries but I have personally never heard it being used, so I think the situation is quite peculiar. ChromeGames923 (talk) 21:16, 6 September 2021 (UTC)

@ChromeGames923: The "--XX?" comments might be suspicions based on a user's knowledge or what has been documented for nearby varieties. They may also be suspicions of whether a particular word is really a synonym that should be included in the list. (At least that's how I use these.)

As for 打呼嚕, maybe the Mandarin word has taken over in Shanghainese in the younger generation? I don't think I know enough to say. — justin(r)leung _{{ (t...) | c=› }} 22:36, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
