I wouldn't expect dolphins and whales to be classed as seafood, although technically I suppose they are. The Language Learner (talk) 08:37, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
- Current definition seems to cover anything that originates in the sea. We do not usually eat whales and dolphins but that's more a cultural thing. Chambers says "food got from the sea, especially shellfish". Equinox ◑ 08:56, 5 September 2019 (UTC)

- This was added by an IP who is apparently obsessed with the taxonomy of what ocean life humans eat. I've restored the definition to what it was before July 2021. Ultimateria (talk) 00:58, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
