Welsh help

Would you be able to add the Welsh translations to the pages for listen and parrot? --EncycloPetey 00:21, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

I've added a translation for listen, but I'm afraid I don't know the Welsh word for parrot (I'm not a native speaker) and I haven't found any translations for it. My guess is that it's parrot, just like in English, but I can't be sure. StradivariusTV 21:07, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

I agree - I like your pronunciation better. But yes, it is an attested (common) spelling. The more I think about it, the more I think of it as a bowdlerization of some sort, but I'm too lazy to look up references for it. My addition of "Southern" indeed, is probably wrong; I dunno...I just think of a Southern preacher whenever I hear it (despite never having met one, AFAIK.)

More important than it saying "misspelling" is that it now uses the {{misspelling of}} template, so that bots recognize it as a misspelling too.

To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name StradivariusTV~enwiktionary that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
