  1. (rare) The act of acclimating, or the state of being acclimated.
    • 1823, Charles Caldwell, “Thoughts on the probable destiny of New Orleans”, in The Philadelphia Journal of the Medical and Physical Sciences‎[1], volume 6, page 3:
