From Ottoman Turkish اقشمق (aḳışmaḳ, to flow together),[1] from Ottoman Turkish آقمق (aḳmaḳ, to flow, to glide, to trickle), from Proto-Turkic *ak- (to flow),[2][3] morphologically ak- +‎ -ış +‎ -kan.
