From Latin (meaning “smaller lips”).

labia minora pl (normally plural, singular labium minus)

  1. (anatomy) The two inner folds of skin within the cleft of the labia majora.
    The ventral skin of the penis is homologous to the labia minora.

Usage notes

This term is only used for primates. In other placental mammals, the term labia vulvae is used instead.
