[edit]- Most often used in the plural, with no change in meaning.
- The words for "proud" and "pride" are different depending on dialect. In Early West Saxon, "proud" is ofermōd and "pride" is ofermettu. Late West Saxon, starting in the mid-10th century, prefers mōdiġ and mōdiġnes. The Anglian dialects use oferhyġdiġ and oferhyġd.
