Borrowed from Polish wiwisekcja, from Latin vīvus (alive) +‎ Latin sectiō (cutting). Compare English vivisection, French vivisection, German Vivisektion, Spanish vivisección and Italian vivisezione. By surface analysis, vivi +‎ sekcio.
