Steven Holl - Biografía
Naci en Bremerton, Washington, en 1947. Diplomado por la Universidad de Washington, realiz estudios de arquitectura en Roma en 1970, que complet con un curso de post-graduado en la Architectural Association de Londres en 1976. Despus de comenzar su carrera en California, estableci su propia firma, Steven Holl Architects, en la ciudad de Nueva York en 1976. Tras su participacin, junto con otro autor, en una exposicin especial organizada por el MoMA en 1989, el museo adquiri varios de sus dibujos para su coleccin permanente. En 1991, la obra de Holl fue presentada en una exposicin individual en el Centro de Arte Walker de Minneapolis, como parte de la serie titulada 'Architecture Tomorrow'. STEVEN HOLL
He was born in Bremerton, Washington, in 1947. An honors graduate of the University of Washington, he also studied architecture in Rome in 1970, and did post-graduate work at the Architectural Association in London in 1976. After starting his professional career in California, he established his own firm in New York City in 1976. In 1989, the Museum of Modern Art presented Holls work in a special two-man show, purchasing several drawings for their permanent collection. In 1991, Holls work was featured in a solo exhibition at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, in the series entitled "Architecture Tomorrow". This exhibition was moved to the Henry Art Gallery in Seattle, Washington and in 1992-93 exhibited throughout Europe. Since then, Holl has taken part in many individual and group exhibitions. Some of his most recent exhibits have included 'Parallax', opened in 2000 at the Max Protetch Gallery in New York and then taken to the American Academy in Rome; 'Architecture+Water' at the Van Allen Institute in New York in 2001; and 'A New World Trade Center' in the Max Protetch Gallery in 2002.
