Through the experience, the student learned about working in the hotel industry and dealing with different people. NARRATIVE REPORT
(OJT) On the Job Training at ALU HOTEL DAVAO
Introduction: On-the-Job-Training or OJT is job training that occurs in the work place. Itis part of a college curriculum that aims to train and orient students about the work and their future career. It is very important not only to teach students their chosen career but to show students the reality about working.
When I started my (OJT) I felt confident enough and able to work quickly. When i got inside the hotel all the staffs look to us greeted, smile and welcomed us. In my first day, my assigned duty is to clean first the bathroom at room 404 then, next is to mop the 6 th floor down to Lobby area, Managers Office including the smoking area and all the public area sites. In my third week at the hotel my task was added by the Housekeeping head, And also the Kitchen personnel to fold the clean linens, and sometimes i clean the rooms and also doing bed make-up and when i saw the lavatory sink full of dishes they also commanded me to wash it. Im blessed to be at that hotel because of the love and knowledge that been given to us by the staff and the manager because sometimes we are out of budget in terms of food but we are thankful that all of them wants to share some money to have our food.
And all of that i repeated to be done day by day until my OJT ends... Conclusion: At the end of the on-the-job training period, we experienced many things and learned from it. We gained knowledge about the work in a Hotel industry. It is very important to learn these things because these are the things essential for us to know about this kind of work. Throughout the training, we experienced dealing with different kind of people around us, and most especially with our co-workers. It is important to a group of workers to have camaraderie so that they can work well and attain their goal.
Through this OJT, I saw the difference when you are in school and in the real world. Most of the time you just learn theoretically in school while in real world, you actually experience and apply what the trainers taught to you.
