Radiant loop(s) with Zone Valve and Mixing Valve Example Layout

Hey Guys,

Does anyone have an example photo of a radiant loop(s) with a mixing valve controlled with a zone valve?  I look forward to seeing any examples.

Thanks,

Pat

More info please. Are you asking about injection mixing with a zone valve.
Or a mixing valve with zone valves downstream? Or manifolds with mix valves built in.

    What type of boiler?

    Hey,

I have a Utica Gas Hydronic Boiler. I plan on having 2 zones of radiant, 1 zone with cast iron radiator, and a zone for a future indirect. I modified one of your diagrams. Would this setup work for one of the radiant zones? Thanks for your help.

Will the radiant be in a slab? Or a plate system under subfloor?

If it is a slab, high mass, one rule of thumb is if it is 10% or less of the boiler capacity a return temperature valve on the boiler is optional.

I prefer either closely spaced tees, or better yet a hydraulic separator.
The indirect is a parallel load, no need to go across the hydrosep for that priority load.

Mix valve could be manual, motorized, or thermostatic.
If motorized an outdoor reset could control SWT, as you show.

    It's plates under the sub-floor.
