If this is your stop, make sure to hit Cinco de Mayo Nieves on the other side of the little plaza here (across the street) for some artisanal hand-churned Mexican ice cream!- Free bike valet open until 8pm at the Fruitvale Bike Station. Powder face for beniets if you have the time.
The most dangerous thing about this station is trying to find parking in the garage if you're running late in the morning.- Farmer's market, beignets, hot dogs in the plaza below. Stop and think about Oscar Grant before boarding above. Usually better to head to the front cars on busy commute days.

Don't leave anything of value out if you park. Got my window smashed out for a crappy stereo, maybe worth $50 on the street. Or should I say worth half a bindle? Did have 6 months trouble free, though

Be careful at this station in the evening or at night, there has been ALOT of robberies.
Michael MeadowsJuly 19, 2010Head over to the "Ojo de Agua" taco truck and get the "Beso de Novia torte." The best $6 you'll ever spend!- If the lot is full and you can't find street parking, go down the street for the $4 lot.
Don't leave your bike here overnight, it will be stolen, like mine.
Expect 10-15 min delays most weeknights after 10:30p for track maintenance.
Feels relatively safe during daytime otherwise sketchy
