Note : the crankshaft screw tightening, timing side, raises the trunnion n°5 diameter (timing
side). The clearance of the n°5 semi-bearing must be raised (max 0,008mm), following the
specs below :

3) Monter à l’aide d’un maillet les 2 centreurs de semelle dans le bloc (ref. 016527)
Final assembly
1) Place the 2 crankshaft lateral clearance semi-flanges.
2) Oil the upper and lower bearings and the crankshaft trunnions before
putting the crankshaft in the engine block.
Note:
do NOT oil the threads
Be careful with the mounting side of the flanges: grooves against the crankshaft
Don’t forget to put the oil pump and timing chains on the crankshaft.
3) Put the 2 pins (ref. 016527) in the engine block with a mallet.
4) To seal the assembly, put a line of joint paste on the outside of the
engine block groove (pos. P)
5) Clean the joint surplus in the lip seal housings before it dries.
Rep 1 à 10 :
Note: if the joint surplus has not been cleaned before drying, do not
pull it, but cut it carefully. 30 N.m + 150°
Coté distribution :
Avant montage d’une bague d’étanchéité neuve dans le carter-cylindres,
enduire légèrement suivant le cordon (en S) l’extérieur de la bague
d’étanchéité neuve de chaque coté du plan de joint du carter-
cylindres/carter chapeaux avec un produit d’étanchéité homologué type
CAF50
Timing side :
Before mounting a new lip seal in the engine block, slightly coat the
exterior of the seal following the cordon (with a S shape) on each side of
the joining surface between engine block/soleplate sing a sealant such as
CAF50.
Flywheel side :
Before mounting a new lip seal in the engine block, slightly coat
the exterior of the seal following the cordon (with a T shape) on
each side of the joining surface between engine block/soleplate
by using a sealant such as CAF50.
Sur l’ensemble vilebrequin préalablement équilibré, monter alors : le volant moteur, la rondelle d’appui des vis de volant
moteur, les vis de VM et la cible Smot.
Bien centrer la rondelle d’appui de vis.
Pour l’équilibrage, plaquer le volant moteur à l’aide des vis d’occasion sans serrer au couple.
Après équilibrage de l’ensemble, démonter le VM.
Peser le VM avec ses vis (5604 g minimum)
Vérifier la présence du marquage
On the previously balanced crankshaft assembly, put: the flywheel, the support washer for flywheel screws, the flywheel
screws and the Smot signal toothed plate.
Ensure the support washer is correctly centered.
To balance this assembly, join the flywheel with used screws without tightening them at the final torque.
After balancing, dismount the flywheel.
Weight the flywheel with its screws (minimum 5604g)
Check the crankshaft letters inscribed on it.
Timing-end crankshaft assembly: crankshaft / modified timing pinions (x2) / modified pulley hub/ key Timing-end

Note: tighten the timing-end crankshaft screw at final torque with Molykote grease under the head and on the threads. This screw :
step must be done before mounting the crankshaft and checking is correct rotation in the engine block.
50 N.m + 180°
Use a vice with aluminum jaws !
Put each piston ring in its cylinder and setup the cuttings (soften the bearing edges with an abrasive stone)
- Firewall ring : insert the piston ring in the cylinder, measure the clearance between cuttings and adjust to 0,35mm
- Sealing ring : insert the piston ring in the cylinder, measure the clearance between cuttings and adjust to 0,45mm
Piston’s assembly
- Put the piston rings 1 & 2 with the TOP mark facing the upper side on the Omega pistons, using the appropriate tool
- Check the correct rotation of the piston rings
- Put the 3rd piston ring moving it carefully aside and keeping the spring
- Check the correct rotation of the piston rings
- Dispose the piston ring cuttings at 120° from each other.
Note: if you feel the piston rings are not free to rotate, do not push harder, remove the whole set, check the piston rings and
the grooves, then restart the operation.
Attention : Ils doivent être bien alignés et centrés par rapport à la bielle
Rods :
Prepare: 4x ARROW rods + 8x polymer semi-bearings
- Reposer les chapeaux de bielles, approcher les vis de bielle et serrer les.
Rod
- Oil the piston axles, axle housings and rod ends.
- Assemble and check the correct rotation of the axle in its housing and versus the rod end.
- Insert the rings in their housings.
- Oil the cylinders, the piston, the pistons rings and the liners.
- Insert the pistons in their cylinders. Rod screw :
Note: if you feel any difficulty to put them inside, do not push hard, remove all, check the pistonrings and the 60 N.m
grooves, then restart the operation. If you see any stripe in the liner, do the same.
- Put the rod cover back, with the rod screws, and tighten.
