This month — March 30th — will mark 20 years since Terri Schindler Schiavo was cruelly killed, deprived of food and water for 13 days until she finally succumbed to dehydration and starvation. It was one of the most controversial bioethics issues to arise since Roe v. Wade, in what many deemed a victory for supposed “medical choice.” Now, two decades later, a pair of bioethicists is revisiting Terri’s death, and argued that while they believe killing her was the right decision, it also ended up leading to the fall of Roe v. Wade in 2022. The Hastings Center is...

CV NEWS FEED // Progressive theological shifts may be contributing to the steep declines in both membership and finances that mainline Protestant denominations in the United States continue to face, according to a recent report from the Associated Press (AP). While circumstances vary, the March 14 AP News report highlighted a shared pattern among several groups: internal divisions and declining participation often follow moves toward more progressive positions on doctrine and culture. The United Methodist Church, for example, lost a quarter of its U.S. congregations amid debates over the ordination and marriage of LGBT individuals. Its denominational workforce has shrunk...

For an ice cream business, Ben & Jerry’s political views are anything but vanilla. Since its first pint in 1978, the brand has become synonymous with hard-core progressivism — often putting them crosswise with Americans, who’ve been turned off by their decades of in-your-face political extremism. But, in a move that proves even the unapologetic leftists aren’t immune from the current crusade for corporate neutrality, “Vermont’s finest” just got a taste of the backlash. Dave Stever hadn’t been on the job long. The latest victim of America’s consumer activists was hired in 2023, a month after Dylan Mulvaney made Bud...

Hunter Biden’s beleaguered former business partner, Devon Archer, will receive a full and unconditional pardon, President Trump revealed .. The president promised Archer the pardon when they met at the NCAA wrestling championships in Philadelphia Saturday night, an encounter arranged by another former Hunter Biden associate-turned-whistleblower, Tony Bobulinski. “He’s getting a full pardon,” Trump told me Sunday. “He was screwed by the Bidens. They destroyed him like they tried to destroy a lot of people. ... The presidential clemency will end a decade-long ordeal for Archer, who was facing jail time for securities fraud over a bad deal he was...

The Supreme Court is set to hear arguments Monday over the fate of Louisiana’s second Black-majority congressional district, in a pair of cases that could shape how state lawmakers can use race when drawing new congressional maps. Parties in the case have urged the justices to clarify the “breathing room” states get between the statutory and constitutional requirements of drawing district lines, as part of the tangled court fights over the state’s redistricting efforts since the 2020 census. On Louisiana’s first congressional map, a judge found the state violated the discrimination protections in the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and...

When you come home from a run or a sweaty gym session, do you immediately fling your clothes into the washing machine for a hot cycle? Or do you leave them on a chair (or the floordrobe) so you can wear them again tomorrow? Earlier this year, the French government caused a stir with advice about how often you should wash your clothes. For sports clothes, it recommends up to three wears before you wash them. This stems from legitimate environmental concerns – each laundry cycle consumes significant water and energy. Frequent washing can also degrade fabrics more quickly, contributing...

University of Eastern Finland findings suggest that consuming avocados during pregnancy is associated with a 43.6% lower likelihood of food allergy development in children by 12 months of age. Maternal dietary choices during pregnancy influence offspring health, particularly in the development of allergic diseases. Previous studies on maternal nutrition have examined the role of fruits, vegetables, and specific food categories but lacked investigations into the impact of individual foods on allergy development in children. The team conducted a prospective cohort study to assess how avocado consumption during pregnancy relates to childhood allergy outcomes. Data were obtained from the Kuopio Birth...

Russia has so far vehemently rejected the idea of European peacekeeping troops in Ukraine but could indeed potentially be swayed if China were to be part of the coalition. Such a move would also of course have the potential to fundamentally change the nature of EU-China relations and mark a huge shift in the continent's security architecture, where China would be an alternative security partner to the US in European affairs. It would also strategically position Europe in a much more enviable position were it wouldn't be at the mercy of Washington's every whims, and could leverage competition between Beijing...

Judge James Boasberg issues a three-page order [SEE HERE] demanding the Trump administration deliver cabinet level details about their criminal alien deportation operation. Boasberg claims the information provided to him so far is “woefully inadequate,” and lacks the citations of what cabinet-level officials were involved in deporting criminal illegal aliens and Tren de Aragua gang members protected by a leftist immigration organization employing Judge Boasberg’s daughter. Judge Boasberg appears to be focused on generating a contempt order against the Trump administration. Presumably, this would give Boasberg’s allied Democrats in congress a foothold for their needed 2028 election effort and another...

Fox News’ Jesse Watters on Friday evening urged Democratic Party strategist and fellow Fox panelist Jessica Tarlov to tell her “people” to “stop firebombing” Tesla facilities. Protests against billionaire Elon Musk and his electric vehicle company Tesla erupted this month, with some charging stations being graffitied and set on fire. While discussing the protests over Musk’s involvement with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), “The Five” panelist Judge Jeanine Pirro called out Democrat lawmakers who have previously condemned domestic terrorism but have remained silent about the attacks on Musk’s company. “OK, Jessica, the Dems have railed against domestic terrorism for...

In a powerful podcast interview, seasoned journalist Greta Van Susteren, who is now a host with conservative-leaning cable network Newsmax, spoke with independent journalist Tara Palmeri and, during the interview on Palmeri’s podcast, exposed how MSNBC was falling apart, as shown by its attempts to silence its journalists. As background, Van Susteren is a career journalist who has worked for CNN, MSNBC, Fox News Channel, and Newsmax. She worked for Comcast-owned MSNBC for merely five and a half months in 2016, and was then let go in a decision that reportedly surprised her. Speaking about the matter on Palmeri’s podcast...

FIRST ON FOX: Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem is planning to visit several spots in Central America next week – including El Salvador's Terrorism Confinement Center, where hundreds of migrant criminals were famously deported last week. On Sunday, DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News Digital that Noem's trip "underscores the importance of our partner countries to help remove violent criminal illegal aliens from the United States."
