spradtro000 Second track is out of this world. Amazing album. Favorite track: Someone sings from the Cliff House.

MarsDragoner I'm glad I listened to this album during the depressingly dreary limbo that is April. The Christmas spirit shines bright and (thankfully) very warm. You will find beautiful and well paced melodies paired with a pleasant embrace of the winter spirit. Favorite track: Aurora Borealis on a Dark Night.

Jay Jordan My father read Tolkien’s Father Christmas Letters to me every year, and I read the same copy to my children every year now. This runs very deep in me, and I love this wonderful accompaniment album. Favorite track: The Eve of Yule.

about

Winter is here and it's time to prepare the house for the arrival of Father Christmas. And so, every year, the Tolkien family prepared for the Christmas festivities, the celebration of Yule and the winter season. As every year, Mr. J. R. R. Tolkien wrote and drew letters to his four children. These letters came from the Cliff House, at the very North Pole, and told of the adventures of Father Christmas, the North Polar Bear, the elves and goblins who lived there, and the visit of the Man in the Moon.

In honour of those memories, whether happy or sad, that we all have at this time of the year, I wanted to compose a few songs inspired by the compilation book of "Letters from Father Christmas" by J. R. R. Tolkien.

All the songs have been performed and recorded by Sisslith using Juno D50, Kawai K1 and Juno DS keyboards, except track #8, composed and performed by my dear friend Old Toby (Deep Gnome), whom I would like to thank for his participation in this album.

Track #9 is inspired by traditional Christmas carol “Deck The Halls”.
The album cover has been designed and drawn by Daniel Ricarte, taking as inspiration the drawings made by J. R. R. Tolkien himself in his Father Christmas letters.

Tape cassettes and vinyls from WereGnome Records.
