A MESSAGE FROM OUR FSMA PRESIDENT

Jeanette Tyler, CMA (AAMA)

Life can only be understood backward, but it must be lived forwards.
–Soren Kierkegaard

As medical assistants, continuing education is a cornerstone of our profession. There is always new medical information to learn—new diagnoses, new codes, new procedures. We know the healthcare field is fluid and ever-evolving as new scientific evidence presents itself. It is the same with our association—we, too, must be ever-evolving by periodically reviewing our processes and policies and determining if they continue to serve the membership well or require deeper examination and revision.

If you have ever been near a stagnant body of water, you know it starts to smell after a while; however, rivers and oceans constantly in motion are fresher. As Bruce Lee once said, “…flowing water never goes stale, so just keep on flowing!”

While it is always good to acknowledge where we’ve come from, we cannot live in yesterday. We must live in the here and now, while simultaneously moving forward and planning for the future.

I am excited for the year ahead. Please know I am always here at your service. Always moving forward.

FSMA

Committed to supporting a positive awareness of medical assisting and the recognition of the FSMA as its representative.
