Soccer is a huge part of our life. This means we spend lots of time running to practices, cheering at games, and spending time with our soccer family. As our soccer season came to an end it only made sense that we celebrate the girls’ hard work!

For this party, I kept the color scheme neutral and created a soccer-inspired dessert table that was the focal point of our celebration.

Whether you are hosting the team to celebrate the end of the season, or gathering to celebrate signing day for your club, these tips are sure to help you SCORE big!

Take the Party Outside

Sports teams can be pretty large, which means there are lots of guests on your invite list. However, this can make it hard to find a good place to celebrate together. Take the party outside, offer up your backyard, or head to a park for your celebration. This way the entire team, parents, and coaches can gather and celebrate a successful season.

I set up a fun, yet simple, dessert table in the backyard and used our outdoor soccer net to anchor the table. Outdoor games like cornhole, can jam and of course, soccer were available to keep everyone entertained.

Decorate with Team Colors

Use neutral colors like black and white for your backdrop and then incorporate the team colors to make the party decorations pop.

There’s no need to break the bank with this celebration. Buy streamers, balloons, and disposable table cloths in the team’s colors. Basically, these supplies are relatively inexpensive, easy to hang up, and disposable when you’re done.

Create a balloon arch with the team colors and hang it above the dessert table to create a focal point. Or use the balloons to create a fun photo booth where teammates can snap selfies together.

Celebrate Sweet Success

A fun, yet simple dessert table is a sweet finish to a successful season! I used the Achievement Trophy and Soccer balls to anchor the table.

Candy jars filled with black and white gumballs were a crowd favorite. Green Sixlets created the perfect base for soccer-themed cookies. Other fun treats that fit perfectly with the theme include white powdered donuts and Oreos.

Additionally, I displayed some store-bought black and white cookies in a piece of faux grass and these were a crowd favorite.

Recognize Players with Personalized Gifts

The players have worked hard all season long, be sure to recognize their hard work with personalized awards and gifts. We handed out custom awards for each player and surprised them with personalized soccer ball yard signs for them to proudly display in their yards.

Other ideas include giving each player personalized soccer jerseys. Teammates can sign each other’s jerseys, like a sort of yearbook, for sentiment, fun memories, and inside jokes.

Obviously, you can’t forget the coach! The team’s coach puts a lot of time and energy into the season, recognizes this effort with a combined team gift. Collect donations from each player and purchase a gift card so the coach can enjoy a little R&R now that the season is done.

Relax & Refuel

Although it may be hard to get your busy ballers to sit still for long, it’s a good idea to create a main table where they can sit down and refuel. I placed a faux grass table runner on the table and added a few extra surprises like the Soccer Ball Kickballs. The kids loved grabbing these off the table to play with.

After a busy afternoon chasing the ball, your little ballers are sure to have worked up an appetite. Keep it simple and serve up kid-friendly foods like pizza, fresh fruit, and goldfish. Be sure to have plenty of hydrating liquids for guests to quench their thirst.
