VTuber designer Mika Pikazo revealed as the artist behind Fire Emblem Engage's protagonist
A pretty fire hairstyle
The protagonist for Fire Emblem Engage (seen above) is quite striking when compared to most other Fire Emblem characters. While there’s still a common thread between this characters and others in the franchise, there’s no denying the look and style of this protagonist is considerably more modern. Of course, a lot of that comes from the two-toned hairstyle, but there are some other fresh elements as well.
We now know who came up with the design for this protagonist, and it’s someone you may have heard of. Illustrator Mika Pikazo has taken to Twitter to confirm that they created the male/female designs for Engage’s protagonist, sharing the artwork we put at the top of this post.
Mika Pikazo Pikazo has been involved with a range of products, including work on the light novel series Apocalypse Witch and the Fate/Grand Order mobile game character Sei Shounagon. Along with that, Pikazo helped design VTubers Hakos Baelz, Kaguya Luna, and Pinky Pop Hepburn. Knowing that, you can certainly see both Pikazo’s style and the VTuber influence here!

2+ y agoThat explains why the character looks like someone's Vtuber avatar.

2+ y agoI don't like how the character looks. I'm also not sure if I like the idea of dragging in previous Fire Emblem characters, as I'm already doing that in Fire Emblem Heroes. I'm a big fan of Fire Emblem, but this one has some ground to cover before I'm on board.
