Hello Astra!

There are three novels in the Accidental Turn series ("The Untold Tale", "The Forgotten Tale", and "The Silenced Tale"). There is also a fourth book ("The Accidental Collection") which contains three novellas (including the two previously independently published "Ghosts" and "Arrivals"), set in the world of the books, four short stories, a comic, and some other bonus content that I can't describe without being too spoilery.

"This is such a sweet book!
I’ve never read a time-travel book before so I was hesitant at first reading about a woman from Toronto in 2024 going back to Regency Era England. But I was able to quickly set those concerns aside and immerse myself in the " Read more of this review »

“Heroes can save the world, but villains can change it.”
J. M. Frey

“My first crush was a sarcastic know-it-all Immortal named Methos, a character from Highlander. To this day I am convinced he is my perfect soulmate. And the focus of my sexual awakening. Lots of people cite the boiler room scene from My So-Called Life, Jareth in Labyrinth, Colin Firth in Pride & Prejudice, or any/all members of the Fellowship of the Ring. But mine happened when Methos rolled out of bed in nothing but boxers to defend his life with a Roman short sword. Unf.”
J.M. Frey, The Secret Loves of Geek Girls

“But in fanfiction anything was fair game. If we could turn protagonists into vampires, bounty hunters, or elves, we could sure as heck turn them homosexual, bisexual, asexual or any ot he wonderful, beautiful in-betweens. Characters slid all over the rainbow. And through fanfiction I learned about identities like transgendered, genderfluid, and demisexual.”

Topics Mentioning This Author

“The worst thing a kid can say about homework is that it is too hard. The worst thing a kid can say about a game is it's too easy.”
Henry Jenkins

“...Fan fiction is a way of the culture repairing the damage done in a system where contemporary myths are owned by corporations instead of owned by the folk.”
Henry Jenkins

“Fandom, after all, is born of a balance between fascination and frustration: if media content didn't fascinate us, there would be no desire to engage with it; but if it didn't frustrate us on some level, there would be no drive to rewrite or remake it.”
Henry Jenkins, Convergence Culture: Where Old and New Media Collide

“The Prince had grown on her, romanced her, in a way, seduced her with his need, and his desire, his pain, his suffering, his desperation for one person, just one to accept him as he chose to be. And maybe it was brainwashing, and maybe it wasn't. But that wasn't reason, really, to add to his misery. Hadn’t they both been abused? Pushed into it? And taking comfort from one another in captivity was all they had, wasn't it?”
