Santino Hassell was raised by a conservative family but grew up to be a smart-mouthed, school cutting grunge kid, a transient twenty-something, and eventually transformed into a grumpy introvert and unlikely romance author with an affinity for baseball caps. His novels are heavily influenced by the gritty, urban landscape of New York City, and his desire to write relationships fueled by intensity and passion.

He’s been a finalist in both the Bisexual Book Awards and the EPIC Awards, and was nominated for a prestigious RITA award in 2017. His work has been featured in BuzzFeed, Huffington Post, Washington Post, RT Magazine, and Cosmopolitan Magazine.

Now that I've finished grad school and have some time off from work, I should be able to focus on writing.(less)
Santino Hassell Ha! That is definitely a dream of ours. An ICoS HBO series would be nice. Actually, nevermind. No HBO!

First and foremost, I’m not going to launch into a huge defense of myself and pick and choose what it’s true and what’s not, what’s been twisted and what hasn’t. The purpose of this post is for me to apologize to readers who feel hur

“It doesn't change that I still want him, I still want to be with him, I still feel like the fucking air has been sucked out of the room when he walks in and I still think about him all the time.”
Sonny Hassell, The Interludes

“His voice wavered and he looked down abruptly, at last making some vain effort to hide the shameful tears that tracked down his cheeks even as he continued to pin Boyd against the wall. 'I wish I could hate you. God, I wish I could fucking kill you for doing this to me. Why couldn't you just leave me alone if it was going to be this way?”
Sonny Hassell, Evenfall

“Self-esteem. That's one of those catch-all terms that means nothing at all, but the mere mention of it leaves all the socially conscious liberal types nodding sagely and scratching their chins.”
Jordan Castillo Price, Meatworks

“Those people who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do.”
Isaac Asimov

“People shouldn’t be forced to categorize themselves as “gay,” “straight,” or “bi.” People are just people. Maybe you’re mostly attracted to men. Maybe you’re mostly attracted to women. Maybe you’re attracted to everyone. These are historical claims — not future predictions. If we truly want to expand the scope of human freedom, we should encourage people to date who they want; not just provide more categorical boxes for them to slot themselves into. A man who has mostly dated men should be just as welcome to date women as a woman who’s mostly dated men.

So that’s why I’m not gay. I hook up with people. I enjoy it. Sometimes they’re men, sometimes they’re women. I don’t see why it needs to be any more complicated than that.”
Aaron Swartz

“I swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.”
Elie Wiesel

“Talent is a pursued interest. Anything that you're willing to practice, you can do.”

Oh, yes then definitely wait. I'm currently revising the second draft of AM. It needed editing and proofing in general, but there are a lot of revisions to pacing and the content, so it would read much different.

As for writing F/F, I definitely would consider it in the future. :) I have no immediately plans to do so because I have a bunch of OTHER plans that need doing first (and im always way behind), but I know Ais has shown interest in developing a F/F project at some point.

Santino Hassell lee wrote: "Hi, question for you. I have a copy of Mist that I haven't read. Is this the story you are reworking now? And should I wait to read it if it is?"

hey! I'm currently reworking After Midnight. Mist is only 3 chapters and I put it on hold until I can dedicate a lot of time to plotting it out fully, so I would wait to read unless you're just curious about whether or not you'd even be into it since it's fantasy.
