Dear Author, That's it! Look at me all covered in mud! This whole trip he's been pushing me or humiliating me in front of all the other archaeology students. I don't know what his problem is but I intend to find out...tonight I will get my revenge.
Photo Description: A smiling, dark-haired young man, wearing a t-shirt and baggy basketball shorts, is completely covered from the neck down in pale mud. He is standing in a patch of green rushes, and behind him is a sandstone cliff.
This story was written as a part of the M/M Romance Group's "Love is Always Write" event. Group members were asked to write a story prompt inspired by a photo of their choice. Authors of the group selected a photo and prompt that spoke to them and wrote a short story.
Hello fellow readers and writers! I'm originally from the UK but currently living in and loving the USA. I have been reading and attempting to write m/m stories for around three years. It's a not so new guilty pleasure. I used to work in finance but am currently a stay at home mom to two young children under the age of four, so free time doesn't come along that often. When it does, writing about hot guys doing sexy things is the perfect antidote to the 'terrible twos'!
3.60 stars I liked how the enemies to lovers theme played out, very enjoyable. My interest perked up right away when Gabe and Logan were rolling around in the mud, I expected more fun there. The sexual tension was great, Gabe teasing Logan with the marshmallow was a lovely payback. I would have liked more guy time near the end. A good freebie, even when Logan was being an irritating dick.
This was a nice short from the Love is Always Write event. I do love a good enemies-to-lovers story but I think Logan's turn around from name-caller to all-in-lover was kind of clumsy. I didn't know why Gabe even went for it. Logan was such an immature dick, even if it was an act. I would have liked more story to make it a smoother transition. However, I enjoyed the story overall and I'll look for more from this author in the future.
OMG I loved this!! Enemies-to-Lovers is my all-time FAVORITE theme!! There was so much sexual tension between Gabe and Logan. And Logan was such an asshole! I loved it. The story matched perfectly with the prompt. Thank you, Anna!
A good story, I really liked it. I just didn't feel like I got to know the asshole guy at all and the whole thing seemed to just happen so fast. So yes I enjoyed it a lot I just needed more for it to be five stars.
This was a wonderful short story for the LiAW event, I really enjoyed it (and loved the picture prompt too). Enemies to lovers is a favourite theme of mine, and this was perfect. Great work, Anna!
Very sweet and very cute enemies-to-lovers story. One of my favorite things about this story was the setting. Ms. Birmingham did a wonderful job creating the outdoorsy backdrop for Gabe and Logan's story.
I also loved how even though this was first person from Gabe's pov that it was still perfectly clear how Logan was feeling. I loved Logan's vulnerability, especially after watching him try to be such a jerk. And I loved that Gabe wasn't a stereotypical shy-mouse nerd and that he actually gave as good as he got when Logan was teasing him.
Loved the setting, adored the characters, had so much fun reading this!
Great story about two young guys, Logan, a big jerky jock who taunts and bullies the known gay guy, Gabe while they are on an archeological dig for college. This went perfectly with the picture provided. It started a little slow, but had a few somewhat intense, steamy scenes and ended nicely. Wish there would have been more about Logan's issues and coming to grips with his feelings. That part seemed a little rushed, but, overall, a very enjoyable read.
Great theme, great characters, funny lines, palpable tension - it all came together in a fabulous story that I thoroughly enjoyed! It’s fun seeing characters go from enemies to lovers and kind of rewarding when those who protest the loudest, fall the hardest! A little dirty fun never hurts either:) Thank you so much, Anna:)
3.75 stars, it just missed the 4 because I would like to get to know Logan better. I missed some steps on his way. But I really liked the story and especially the tension between Logan and Gabe. Really good enemy to lovers story. Also bonus points for geek/jock elements :)
Beautiful and very erotically-charged enemies to lovers story. The way they interacted with each other when they hated each other and bickered was very nice. Maybe it is just me, with the bickering being one of my favorite things in romance, but it needed more bickering. Still, I loved the way the author developed this prompt and the realistic, though a bit fast, feelings between them. They make a cute couple.
Meh. I love enemies to lovers stories, but I don't particularly like when the reason they're enemies is because one The story was short, so there wasn't enough time for it to be really amazing, but it also didn't give very many sweet moments or even any real steamy moments. It was kind of in-between in all aspects. I mean, it was still enjoyable, and since it's an MM romance Group story, it's worth the read, it just wasn't anything mind-blowing.
