The first 30% or so is just devastating perfection. The author perfectly captures the development of a toxic/abusive relationship. Stunning. It should have been its own book with a sequel featuring Keaton.
And then Keaton shows up. Aiden is very seriously fucked up. He needed serious medical help, not DD. The relationship started too quickly. The DD and brat play was great, but the context really made it hard to enjoy. The push/pull got annoyingly repetitive at the end.
Speaking of the end... Aiden has a very bad spiral. The anguish on both sides could have been resolved with a deep heart-to-heart. But instead they have this stilted conversation and more DD. Keaton most definitely did not learn anything from that ex-boyfriend storyline....more

There's a club and sub friends and super rich doms. Boring! I'm not here for the side characters! I'm hear for heavy drama and angst given the topic. I should have bailed as soon as I found out Michael was one of those anime boys. Lazy writing. Shame....more
All telling, no showing. Pivotal conversations and potent emotional moments happening with side characters instead of the DNF 35% & skimmed most of it
All telling, no showing. Pivotal conversations and potent emotional moments happening with side characters instead of the MCs. The whole thing felt shallow. All characters felt like caricatures. Awful pacing (which is bizarre for a book that's 270 pages long). For a book about severe physical abuse, there is no angst! wtf...more
Evan is a fucking creep and a garbage doctor. Warning: light exploration of medical kink here. I was expecting serious drama with intense PTSD. Nope. Evan is a fucking creep and a garbage doctor. Warning: light exploration of medical kink here. I was expecting serious drama with intense PTSD. Nope. Jamie completely forgets the outside world while in the Evan bubble. Plot points are all but forgotten (the migraines, why Michael got fired, how Michael is a drug addict, Jamie's many jobs, Jamie's college, etc.). What a mess. Hated reading it. The ending dragged on FOREVER!
The most offensive part is that Jamie does all the work. Even chases him off, does not chasing back, and does no groveling. ...more
This has nothing to do with Cinderella. There are a few nods to the movies, but that's about it.

This has nothing to do with Cinderella. There are a few nods to the movies, but that's about it.
This gave me PTSD flashbacks to that awful Starcrossed Lovers series by Jade West. Is it a collab between the two authors? Because the characters in both series have the same names, occupations, etc.
Has some sugar daddy vibes to it. At some points there are some daddy dom vibes too. BDSM, especially humiliation kink, plays a big role. Unfortunately it's #badbdsmetiquette (of course it is). There's also age gap (18 h, 36 H). Something unusual is that the h acts like a genuine 18 yo in the beginning, so the gap feels very creepy. It goes away after like 5 chapters.
I can't believe the author drags this plot out over 3 books. It's not that great of a read. Not sure if I'll continue....more

I really enjoyed the first part, but the "breakup" was a bit of a struggle for me. I don't like to read about MCs sleeping around. I got the connection between Peter and Stephen, but it would have been better with more showing rather than telling. It was hard to feel the chemistry because of their limited interactions. It felt more like instalust with the potential to be more. That poor excuse for "groveling" at the end by Peter was not enough. Peter was so so cruel. ...more

There's some good steam and some good fluff. There was a solid plot running in the background that wasn't properly explored. The big conflicts with the wife and mom were glossed over. But you gotta have some suspension of disbelief to get the meet cute, the chemistry, and the level of kink.
