This series is essentially fanfic (which I know) and I am very curious by it, especially because the last installment was quite good. However, I felt that this lacked creativity in interpreting the characters and everything was so over the top and cringey. Why are her eyes described as sooooo big, she is not supposed to be an animated character anymore? The plot line with Ren and her parents intrigued me but ultimately it was very unsatisfying. Ren and Fitz's relationship was on the outside, similar to the movie, but lacked the depth they reached at the end.
Also, the past installments adapted the characters into more diverse identities and I was really disappointed to see that everyone (as far as I read) was demographically the same to the movie Tangled. Quite a let down for me as well.
However, since the author changes every installment, I'm sure I will try the next one!!...more

I found their story with a shared past far deeper than a lot of the rushed romances that dominate the market. While I have some quibbles on a technical level, they by no means took away from the absolute joy I felt reading this! I don't usually go for historical romance, but I adored reading this one!! Viola and Gracewood were adorable and I fully understood their feelings for each other, both past and present....more

This book had me giddy for most of it, lots of romcom tension and cute social media woven in-between chapters. The character dynamics were a lot of fun, and the plot had me enthralled, despite knowing the happy ending.
Perfect for fans of The Little Mermaid and romcoms!!...more

That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Human is another fun and consistent installment within Lemming’s world. Cherry is bright and cheerful, the perfect contrast to Dante’s grumpy exterior. Grumpy/sunshine at its finest. Lemming shows off her sense of humor and morals throughout her books, leading her to be permanently on my radar from her first book.
As a romance, the novel was not a disappointment. As a book with a long lost sister being returned to her family, it was. However, I would categorize this due to my expectations rather than a failing on Lemming’s part.
While I didn’t enjoy this installment quite as much as the last two, by no means was it bad by any standard, just a little different within execution, missing some of the more lovable side characters in larger roles. Fans will fall in love with Cherry and Dante in their story and enjoy explorations of each of their pasts and their off the charts chemistry.
Lemming proves again that I do enjoy cozy fantasy and has me eagerly anticipating her next adventure!
I love how Lemming once again combined romance, comedy, and fantasy into her stories into the perfect balance of each!...more
