Mercedes Unveils the Entry Level AMG A35 4MATIC
A 306 hp hot hatch.
After the success from the introduction of the Mercedes-Benz A45 in 2012, the German automobile manufacturer quickly realised that the demand for a quality, compact 5-door was on the rise. The latest hatch from Mercedes looks to cover the full spectrum of characteristics from comfort, efficiency, value, and performance, but as the Mercedes-AMG badge entails, performance was at the top of the list for the A35 4Matic.
Positioned as an entry-level AMG, the AMG A35 features a new 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that’s combined with a twin-scroll turbocharger. The newly developed engine setup is capable of making 306 hp, and when matched with a AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G dual-clutch transmission along with the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, the AMG A35 can sprint to 100km/h in only 4.7 seconds.
Look for the Mercedes-AMG A 35 4MATIC to make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show on October 2. For those interested in ordering this hot new hatch, expect a Western European launch next year January 2019.
