A. Capaian Pembelajaran
Peserta didik menggunakan teks eksoposisi (analytical exposition) dalam bentuk lisan,
tulisan dan visual dalam bahasa Inggris untuk berkomunikasi sesuai dengan situasi, tujuan,
dan pemirsa/pembacanya. Peserta didik menggunakan bahasa Inggris untuk menyampaikan
keinginan/perasaan dan berdiskusi mengenai teks eksposisi (analytical exposition) yang dekat
dengan keseharian mereka atau isu yang hangat sesuai usia peserta didik. Mereka membaca
teks eksposisi (analytical exposition)untuk mempelajari sesuatu/mendapatkan informasi.
Keterampilan inferensi tersirat ketika memahami informasi, dalam bahasa Inggris mulai
berkembang. Peserta didik memproduksi teks eksposisi (analytical exposition)dalam bentuk
tulisan dan visual yang lebih beragam, dengan kesadaran terhadap tujuan dan target pembaca.

Teks eksposisi (analytical exposition) ditemukan dalam buku-buku ilmiah, artikel, jurnal,
majalah, pidato akademis, dan lain sebagainya. Teks ini mengajak pembaca memahami
suatu isu yang diangkat oleh penulis.

Pada bagian ini, thesis adalah bagian yang memberitahu pembaca tentang topik utama dan sudut
pandang penulis. Thesis selalu bisa kamu temukan di paragraf pertama teks.
Di bagian ini, pembaca juga bisa melihat mengapa penulis memberikan pendapat terhadap hal yang
menjadi topiknya.
2. Arguments
Di paragraf selanjutnya, kamu bisa menemukan bagian arguments. Arguments adalah pendapat untuk
mendukung topik utama yang telah disampaikan sebelumnya. Biasanya dalam analytical exposition
terdapat lebih dari dua argumen.
Semakin banyak argumen yang ditampilkan, pembaca akan semakin percaya bahwa topik yang
dibahas adalah topik yang penting atau membutuhkan perhatian.
3. Reiteration
Setelah bagian thesis dan arguments sudah dipaparkan, tentu saja ditutup dengan kesimpulan atau
reiteration. Bagian ini selalu terletak di akhir teks dan menjadi paragraf penutup tulisan.
Reiteration adalah penegasan kembali posisi dan pendapat penulis terhadap topik utama. Reiteration
juga sering disebut sebagai conclusion, yang mana artinya adalah kesimpulan.
Selain struktur, kamu juga harus tahu tentang kaidah kebahasaan atau language features dalam
penulisan analytical exposition text. Kaidah kebahasaannya adalah berikut ini: 1. Penulisan
analytical exposition text menggunakan simple present tense.
2. Menggunakan kata-kata yang mengekspresikan pikiran atau perasaan penulis, contohnya:
experience, feel, know, realize, sense, think, dll.
3. Menggunakan connective words yaitu kata penghubung. Penggunaan connective words
bertujuan untuk menghubungkan antar ide, baik itu frasa, klausa, kalimat, maupun paragraf.
Connective words ini banyak fungsinya. 3 fungsi dari kata hubung yang paling sering dipakai dalam
analytical exposition text adalah:
Adding information, yaitu menambahkan informasi. Contohnya seperti and, moreover, in
addition, dan also.
Contrasting information, yaitu mengkontraskan sesuatu. Contohnya seperti but, however, dan
even though.
Causality, yaitu menunjukkan sebab-akibat. Contohnya seperti because, therefore, thus,
consequently, despite, due to, for that reason, dll.
Thesis: Food waste is a big problem and it needs to be stopped. Food wasting is bad for the Earth
and the environment, wastes money, and wastes resources. If we all work together, this problem of
food wasting can be changed!
Arguments: To start with, wasting food is bad, and destructive for the Earth’s environment. When
food rots with other organics in landfill, it gives off methane gas, which is 25x more powerful than
carbon pollution.
Food waste can also cause infestation of rodents, which can cause disease and sickness to spread to
everyone. It is also unjust that we toss out perfectly good, excess food, while people in the world are
dying every second.
Secondly, wasting food also wastes your money. Instead of throwing perfectly good food away to
landfill, we should do something useful with it like giving it away to homeless people that don’t have
money to buy food.
Lastly, wasting food wastes resources. When you toss out food, you’re also wasting everything that
helped make it.
Reiteration: We need to stop buying food we don’t need and then waste. If we buy food, we must
make sure we eat it! Wasting food is not sustainable for our earth, wastes our money and wastes
many valuable resources.
Thesis: Sports are a crucial part of a student’s growth and development. They help in the
development of mental health and physical fitness of the body.
Arguments: Given below are the reasons why sports and games are essential in a student’s life:
Sport can improves physical and mental health of a student. Sports is played between teams
in a healthy competitive environment which ensures that the student remains active and fit.
Sport also empowers students with life skills. It enhances their capabilities and helps them to
have a better understanding of themselves.
Sport can make us learn time management and discipline. Constructive use of time and
discipline is a major characteristic of any sportsperson. It also improves our leadership and team
building qualities and boost self-confidence.
Reiteration: The sport is important for us. Through participation in sports and games, a student gains
various skills, experience and confidence that are helpful for developing their personality.

dipahami.
Analytical Exposition text adalah suatu jenis teks yang digunakan untuk menjelaskan
pandangan seorang penulis mengenai suatu isu. Dengan kata lain, teks ini merupakan teks
argumentatif.
Generic structure adalah sistematika pada suatu alur yang tersaji di dalam sebuah teks. Kamu
juga bisa mengatakan generic structure sebagai tahapan demi tahapan pemetaan gagasan atau
informasi di dalam teks. Hal ini identik sekali dengan plot.
Language feautures adalah unsur kebahasaan dari sebuah teks yang berhubungan dengan tata
bahasa. Language Features bisa meliputi jenis tense yang digunakan, conjunction, kalimat aktif
maupun pasif, dan sebagainya, tergantung pada jenis teksnya. Jadi, Language Features yaitu
