Glow in the Dark Halloween Pajama DIY

Around these parts almost as important as the costume you will wear on Halloween are the PJ's you will don on 'Wear Your Pajamas' to school day. For grade schoolers this is like the prom and the right jammies are crucial. I of course had to customize a pair for my daughter.

Halloween Spider Web Ornament How-To

I have a Halloween tree. OK, I have a lot of Halloween trees. Finding ornaments for a Halloween tree can be tricky business. Luckily it is easy to make your own.

Marbled Paper Mache Ring Dishes

You have seen marbled ring dishes a million times on Pinterest. You know the ones with air dry clay and gold trim on the edges. Ya, I love them too. I wanted to make my own version, not using air dry clay, but using paper-mache. Same concept, same steps, different medium and all new funky look.

Coloring Book Page Gerber® ONESIES® DIY

Helen Dardik has long been one of my favorite illustrators. I have had her prints hanging in my children's rooms since before they were born. When I saw that she had contributed to a coloring book for Flow Magazine I jumped at the news stands. These doodles were just too cute to keep bundled up inside the book, I needed to share the love with my friends and family. I needed to bring another little in my life over to the Helen side. Enter my adorable nephew Wylder and his new Gerber® ONESIES®  that I made using my coloring book and Tulip Fabric Markers.

First Day of School Signs

Because you only start Pre-K and First Grade once (hopefully) it seemed signage was in order. When I ship the kids off to enrich their little minds and ween them off of the iPad next week I will have these fun Poster Puffy Paint signs hand to take their picture with. I can't wait. No really, I love my kids, but I CAN'T WAIT.

DIY Ombre Zebra Skin Shower Curtain

I have been living in my house for over two years and still have yet to hang a shower curtain in the kids bathroom. Given they are bath people so it has not mattered much, but it is something that eventually needed to be done. When we moved in I transferred all the art and even the window treatment from my son's nursery to the bathroom. The whole bathroom has a fuchsia zebra skin vibe so finding the perfect shower curtain has been a bit of a struggle. As with most things, when I can't find exactly what I want I make my own.

Make a DIY Necklace Display That is as Unique as Your DIY Jewelry

I have a lot of necklaces. Remember Naughty Secretary Club? Ya that was me. Not only did I make a lot of necklaces, I also bought a lot. I'm still buying and still making for that matter. I decided I needed to whip myself up a necklace display that truly represented me. I don't wear black velvet like the displays at the store. I needed something to help with my pattern on pattern obsession.

Lemon Slice Rope Coaster DIY

Something about summer makes me feel fruity. I've made orange slice tote bags, pineapple string lights, watermelon sunglass cases and now lemon slice coasters. My love affair with coiled laundry line also continues (remember my painted tribal dish, tie-dyed planter and sticker resist vase). I'm surprised it has taken me this long to join fruity rope forces. These coasters are so stinking cute (and easy) I'm glad I finally did!

Easy Air Dry Clay Embellished Pottery

One of my crafty life goals is to learn how to throw pottery on a wheel. I can just see myself all Ghost style making ceramic magic. As a warm-up I have been playing with a lot of air-dry clay. You can make all kinds of fun things with this stuff. I thought I could embellish store bought pots by just adding a bit of clay. I was almost right, all I needed was some Tacky Glue.

3 Fun and Funky Ways to Update a Thrift Store Vase with Tie-Dye

Cotton clothesline might be one of my favorite craft mediums. You can wrap it in yarn, paint it and now I have discovered dying it. So versatile and fun, who would ever think to use this stuff just for laundry when it is possible of so much more.

Recycled Toilet Paper Roll String Lights

I might have a small obsession with cocktail napkins. They are cheap and come in so many fun patterns. I love to keep cute disposable plates and napkins on hand for entertaining or in this case crafting. I recently made some similar string lights for a book using tissue paper and thought why not do the same thing using my beloved cocktail napkins.

DIY Swim Suit Cover-Up from a T-Shirt

My daughter is on swim team. That being said, we have a lot of swim team T-shirts lying around. Enough that she could wear a new one each day. I decided to give one of them the swim suit cover-up treatment.

Dyed Tramp Art Planter DIY

My latest obsession is tramp art. Tramp art is often made from discarded pieces of wood to form geometric shapes. Popsicle sticks are a perfect example. You can find intricate baskets, lamps, picture frames and more from carved sticks. I decided to add to my collection and but a colorful twist on the theme.

Faux Beading with Puffy Paint

I am always a fan of crafty shortcuts. If there is a fast dry glue I'm in, a dye with fewer steps sign me up and any no-sew project is a friend of mine. One of my favorite crafty shortcuts is faking the look of embroidered stitches with Puffy Paint. My felt appliquéd Christmas tree skirt and Slice of Citrus Tote are perfect examples. I love the look of beading and thought, why couldn't I get the same look with Puffy Paint in place of beads.

Space Sticker Resist ColorShot Shirts

I am pretty smitten with the new Tulip Color Shot line. Sure I work for them, but really - the colors are so vibrant, the paint goes on so dreamy and well it's spray color. There is nothing to mix or paint, just spray and go. I have a feeling by the end of the summer not much in my wardrobe will be safe from the spray. Look how bright and neon those colors are, I mean come on!

Dreamcatcher DIY with Stenciled Felt Feathers

Dreamcatchers are fun, easy and kind of addicting to make. I'm such a sucker for anything mixed media and no two dreamcatchers are ever alike. You can customize them in so many different ways and hand make almost any type of embellishment. Hand stenciled felt feathers might be one of my favorites.

Last Minute DIY Mother's Day Ideas

It is not too late to hand make something for mom. Sure, I'd love a spa treatment or new car but I treasure the flower pictures made from wee handprints my kids did for me. Crafts, like diamonds, are forever. These are a few of my favorite (quick and easy) I Love to Create ideas for Mother's Day gifts.
