Will I taste anything?
Buoy is purposefully unflavored, which means we do not hide behind the sweet and inflammatory ingredients like sugar, stevia, dextrose and "natural" flavors which most other electrolyte products include.
SUBTLE MINERAL TASTE
Hydration Drops harvest electrolytes and minerals in their most bioavailable form. While many people don't notice a taste in most beverages, everyone's palette is different and so you may notice hints of a subtle mineral flavor.
A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY
One serving is a single, short squeeze into a full beverage. Each serving contains a ⅓ of the electrolyte content of a sports drink. For those noticing a strong taste, you've likely squeezed too much into a single beverage or a half-full beverage.
Will Buoy break my fast?
Nope!
Unlike other electrolytes, Buoy will not change your metabolic state regardless of how many servings you use.

How long until you see results?
Buoy’s hard-to-find essential nutrients are important for foundational health in the long run.
Depending on how chronically dehydrated you are when you start Buoy will affect how intense of a feeling you might notice. Headaches, cramping, midday fatigue, grogginess and drier skin are all symptoms of dehydration.
AFTER A WEEK
While a lot of people using Buoy notice results after about a week of consistent use, some don’t—and that’s okay.
AFTER A MONTH
It can take up to a month or two for your body to reach a new normal. Rest assured, our high bioavailable and fast-absorbing ingredients get to work quickly and target nutrient gaps in the American diet.
Are your B vitamins methylated?
Methylation is typically in reference to Vitamins B9 and B12 because of cheap, widely used and non-absorbable forms these specific vitamins. These vitamins are not used in any Buoy products.
The B Vitamins used in Buoy typically do not come in a methylated form (there is a rare B6 form floating around but is not standard or widely used).
For the vitamins used, Buoy sources the cleanest, most absorbable forms of B1, B5, and B6. Methylation is typically a term used with B vitamins that aren't in Buoy.
Do your products have caffeine?
Hydration Drops does not contain caffeine.
The only product that contains caffeine is our Energy Drops, which is sourced from organic green tea.

I started giving these to my 10 year old daughter a month ago because she had frequent headaches. She takes them in the morning with juice (because they are not tasteless to her ;-)) and since we started it she didn't have a single headache. If this is what will help her I will be forever grateful!!!
I have suffered from chronic, weekly migraines for over two decades. Adding this to all my daily liquid has cut my pain level from a 7-8 to a 5-6. I've even gone as long as two weeks without a migraine! The longer I use this, the more health improvements I see. Please, at least try this!
I struggle with dry mouth from a multitude of meds, chronic pain, and low blood pressure. It seemed no matter how much water I drank, it didn't really 'stick'. Buoy has made the difference! I feel better hydrated with less lightheadedness while drinking less water with Buoy. I take my hydration drops everywhere. Using them with an electrolyte drink ups the ante and helps address symptoms of dehydration fast. I've already recommended them to family members and my PT.
I started the excruciating process of trying to find an electrolyte that didn't bother my stomach. I have multiple chronic problems including a connective tissue disorder and having had two open heart surgeries. Buoy has been easy for me to carry with me and add to any beverage to keep my blood pressure from being in the basement. I personally do not like the taste of Buoy in just plain water but I can put it in anything with flavor. Buoy has been an excellent resource.
Buoy’s Rescue Salt is pending HSA and FSA eligibility for those using their health and flexible savings accounts to pay for qualified medical expenses.
By January 2024, Buoy’s Rescue Salt should be HSA & FSA approved.
This study measured key hydration biomarkers in blood and urine alongside two universal standards to measure stable, all-day hydration.
(1) Buoy increases Net Fluid Balance
Compared to water alone and a leading electrolyte
Fig 1a: Net Fluid Balance
Buoy significantly increases positive fluid balance compared to water alone or a leading electrolyte competitor at just 3 hours through 6 hours.
**Our clinical study shows that at 4 hours, water alone is more hydrating than a leading competitor and at 6 hours the difference between the two are negligible.
Fig 1b: Net Fluid Balance
Buoy significantly increases positive fluid balance compared to water alone or a leading electrolyte competitor at just 3 hours through 6 hours.
**Our clinical study shows that at 4 hours, water alone is more hydrating than a leading competitor and at 6 hours the difference between the two are negligible.
(2) Buoy increases the Beverage Hydration Index
Compared to water alone and a leading electrolyte
Fig 2a: Beverage Hydration Index — Buoy compared to Water Alone
Buoy significantly increases the Beverage Hydration Index compared to water alone at every interval over the entire study.
Fig 2b: Beverage Hydration Index — Buoy compared to Leading Electrolyte Competitor (with water as baseline)
Buoy significantly increases the Beverage Hydration Index compared to a leading electrolyte competitor. A leading electrolyte competitor is essentially tied with water alone at the six hour mark, showing no significant advantage over water.
(3) Buoy decreases urine output
Compared to water alone and a leading electrolyte
Fig 3: Cumulative Urine Volume
Buoy significantly reduces urine output leading to higher fluid and electrolyte retention.
Buoy significantly increases urine osmolarity compared to water alone. Water alone dilutes urine while Buoy concentrates it with electrolytes. Fig 3 above shows Buoy’s increases retention of fluids while Fig 4a and 4b show Buoy’s increase in concentrated urine with electrolytes.
(5) Buoy retains more electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chloride)
Compared to water alone
Fig 5a: Cumulative Na (Sodium) Volume in urine
You are losing more electrolytes (sodium) in your urine when you drink water-alone compared to Buoy.
Fig 5b: Cumulative K (Potassium) Volume in urine
You are losing more electrolytes (potassium) in your urine when you drink water-alone compared to Buoy.
Fig 5c: Cumulative Cl (Chloride) Volume in urine
You are losing more electrolytes (chloride) in your urine when you drink water-alone compared to Buoy.
Clinical Study Highlight
Our clinical study highlights delayed rehydration from:
(1) Bolus Ingestion of water and/or electrolytes
How other electrolytes dose their serving sizes
Our bodies induce a physiological response against bolus water intake or bolus electrolyte ingestion to protect against low blood salt and high blood salt, respectively.
(2) diuretics: Most sweeteners and sugar alternatives
Sugar alternatives like stevia and artificial sweeteners are diuretics
Studies showing: Stevia Has Diuretic Properties
Arumugam B, Subramaniam A, Alagaraj P. Stevia as a Natural Sweetener: A Review. Cardiovasc Hematol Agents Med Chem. 2020;18(2):94-103. doi: 10.2174/1871525718666200207105436. PMID: 32031079.
Studies showing: Artificial Sweeteners Has Diuretic Properties
