AUBURN, Wash. (KOMO) — Two people aboard a helicopter, that crashed at an airport in Auburn, Washington, Saturday afternoon, were able to safely get out of the helicopter before crews arrived., according to officials.
The helicopter crashed around 4:45 p.m. EDT at the Auburn Municipal Airport.
Authorities say the two people inside were an instructor and a student. They were reportedly practicing take offs at the time of the crash and were no more than 3-5 feet off the ground.
The Valley Regional Fire and Rescue Department says the helicopter crashed around 4:45 p.m. EDT at the Auburn Municipal Airport.
The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration took over the investigation into the crash.
