Flumen Nigrum[1] (Portugallice Rio Negro; Hispanice Río Negro) est maximus fluminis Amazonum tributarius laevus, maxima aquae nigrae flumen in orbe terrarum, et per defluxionem modicam unum e decem telluris fluminibus maximis. Amnis in Departimento Guainía Columbiae oritur, ubi Flumen Guainía appellatur[2], postea per confinium Columbiae et Venetiolae haud longe fluit et maximam itineris sui partem per Brasiliam (in civitate Amazonensi) facit. In Manao in flumen Amazonum se effundit.
Bifurcatio fluminis Casiquiare cum Orinoco flumen Nigrum coniungit.
