Opera grandis
Opera grandis est genus operae saeculi undevicensimi plerumque actuum quattuor vel quinque, multis actoribus immanibusque orchestris praeditum, et primum prodigis effectibus scaenicis designatum, usitate argumenta de rebus historicis dramaticis depingens. Notio, vel diserte vocabulo grand opéra, verbis Francicis quae pro ea valent, aliquando quibusdam productionibus Operae Lutetiensis a decennio 183 exeunte usque ad circa 1850 adhibetur[1]; nomen quidem opera grandis aliquando ad Operam Lutetiensem ipsam indicat.
Vocabulo opera grande etiam latius appellantur artificia dramatica cuiusque saeculi magnitudinis monumenti in Francia, Germania, Italia, et aliis civitatibus culta.[2] Nomen etiam sermone humili adhiberi potest sensu lato ad dicendam quamque 'operam gravem sine diverbio dicto'.[3]
